Amtrak's Next-Generation of High-Speed Rail

At Amtrak we know the future of the Northeast Corridor depends on the investments we make today, which is why we are excited to announce the upcoming arrival of the next-generation of high-speed rail. The new trainsets will replace the current Acela Express equipment and begin service in 2021.

For this project, we are pleased to be partnering with Alstom, a leading global provider of innovative systems and equipment in the railway sector. Alstom will be building these new trainsets in New York State, with 95% of the trainset’s components being made in America, and parts coming from 350 suppliers in 30 U.S. states.

Street Food in Pakistan - ULTIMATE 16-HOUR PAKISTANI FOOD Tour in Lahore, Pakistan!

Thank you to Ali (Pakistan Travel Market):

Also, just published a full Pakistan travel guide:

I’m very excited to share this first full street food in Pakistan video with you! We started our trip in Lahore, a vibrant, colorful, and packed full of food city. Our first day in Lahore turned out to be a 16 hour street food marathon in Lahore, and it was an amazing day!

Get more details on my Pakistan Travel Guide:

Sadiq Halwa Puri ( - We began the day with a very common breakfast throughout Pakistan, halwa puri, but along with chana curry (chickpea curry). We ate off the car, enjoying every bit of the freshly fried puris and curry.
Total price - 640 PKR ($4.78)

Chacha Feeka Lassi ( - Next we drove over to Gawalmandi, one of the most legendary areas in Lahore for food. We headed straight to a breakfast staple, the lassi shop and had the most creamy heavy milkshake I’ve ever had, called a pera lassi.

Roasted chickpeas - 25 PKR ($0.19) - After exiting an alley, right in front of us was a man selling chickpeas and corn roasted in black Himalayan salt. It’s a very common street food snack in Pakistan.

Sweet potato - 80 PKR ($0.60) - Sweet potato is also a very common street food snack in Lahore, seasoned with masala and a type of citrus juice.

Baba Kulfi Wala - Next we headed over to Shah Alami Market, another huge and bustling market in Lahore.

Kulfi - 20 PKR ($0.15) each - One of the most famous places to eat ice cream in Lahore is Baba Kulfi Wala, and you’ll find a crowd of people standing around the corner of the road eating sticks of their famous kulfi.

Orange juice - 50 PKR ($0.37)

Chana chaat - 120 PKR ($0.89) per plate - One of my personal favorite Pakistani street food snacks of the day was chana chaat, a chickpea snack. He added in all sorts of spices, chutneys, and seasonings, to create a deliciously refreshing snack.

Butt Karahi Tikka Restaurant - Easily one of the most well known restaurants in Lahore is Butt Karahi, specializing in curry made in a rounded pan, called a karahi (we will be eating a lot of karahi’s in Pakistan!). We ordered both a mutton karahi and chicken karahi. Both were amazing, filled with spices and butter, but the tenderness of the mutton was the winner.
Total price - 5,600 PKR ($41.84)

Siddique Fish Corner - You’ll notice that Lahore seems to come alive at night, and street food is everywhere at night. We began the evening with Siddique Fish Corner, one of the best fried fish stalls in Lahore. It was awesome, and so busy.
Total price - 400 PKR ($2.99)

Khalifa Balochi Sajji - Another Pakistani dish I wanted to try was chicken sajji, a type of hand rotisserie chicken. The atmosphere and cooking method was incredible.
Total price - 390 PKR ($2.91)

Khan Baba Restaurant - Finally for our last dinner on this 16 hour day of food in Pakistan, we went to one of Ali’s favorite restaurants in Lahore, Khan Baba. The goat chops were impressive as was the korma curry.

Again, massive thank you to Ali, from Pakistan Travel Mart for hosting us in Pakistan, taking us around, and organizing everything.

What Can $10 Get in LAGOS, NIGERIA? (craziest city)

HELLO FROM LAGOS, NIGERIA -- COUNTRY #175!! ???????? I truly had a lot of fun making this video inside Africa's craziest and most populated city. Did you know that over 20 million people are living in Lagos?! It is hands down one of the most hectic, chaotic and vibrant places I've ever been with a LOT of stories to tell. I'm overwhelmed.

My local friend and YouTuber named Tayo (his channel linked below) has been taking me all around his bustling city and we've had an absolute blast together. Surprisingly, this was one of the hardest videos I've ever made because it's REALLY challenging to shoot content on these streets. People don't like being on the camera here and they make a huge commotion in the streets and ask for money (etc) whenever they see it from a distance.

In any regard, I hope you enjoy this episode of my $10 series and get a glimpse into local Nigerian culture. More to come tomorrow!

FOUR FISH IN FOUR MINUTES! EP 6

Having decided roughly in which direction to head in order to get to Phuket, we weigh anchor from Ko Lipe on a hot morning. Since the boat is pointing into the wind whilst tied to the mooring we get the mizzen and the mainsail out. Look out for the editing error early on in this clip - can anyone spot it? con't below....

After getting the sails out Jamie unties the snubber, which is the hook attached to a rope that's in turn attached to the anchor chain. This acts as a spring to take the strain off the anchor chain in rough seas. Although to be honest the sea state lately has been rather flat. It's questionable as to whether we'd get a sail in at all today.

Despite the light winds we decide to get the headsail out, which is called a yankee.

We make our way towards Adang and Butang, the two islands to the west of Ko Lipe, at a slow pace, which gives us a chance to take in what it feels like to sail properly with no engine. Finally.

We sail right up to Butang, the uninhabited island to the south west of Adang, where we find Neil of s/y Scarlet. We drop the hook in this beautiful anchorage and, with Esper safely tucked away from potential prevailing south westerlies, Jamie teachers us how to dive.

Our personal sunset cruise didn't last long as I managed to hook a grouper within two minutes of trolling a line!

We cruised around the beautiful, clear waters in our dinghy as my fishing hit rate kept increasing.

With two grouper and two bream we have enough fish for supper, so we bring the line in and motor back to Esper just as the sun dips below the horizon. It isn't long before a certain feline hears us approaching the stern of the boat and starts to sniff out some familiar and tasty smells.

Jamie, who hasn't gutted and filleted a fish in a while, attempts to break the neck of the first grouper and then do his magic. It's fairly difficult for two reasons: a) the knives have not been sharpened in a season and b) Millie insists in sticking her nose in where it's not wanted.

In our last episode we waxed lyrical about the gorgeous sunsets from the anchorages around Langkawi, but the sunrise next morning over Adang takes some beating.

We later learn that these sea creatures are called blue buttons and appeared in Odd Stuff magazine's 17 most beautiful jellyfish in the world. Except they're not actually jellyfish. The Porpita porpita is, according to our sources, a marine organism consisting of a colony of hydroids. They are found all over the world, from California to the tropical Pacific.

We land the dinghy on the beach and take a stroll along the shore.

The tide's reclined so far we have to row across the reef to get out. I manage to catch more fish off the shallow coral but unfortunately we lose one of our lures. Jamie takes a quick look with the snorkel but it's gone for good. We head back to the boat and cook up another fresh fish dinner before going ashore once more for a sundowner by the fire.

Supreme Scream is a Turbo Drop amusement ride located at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA.

It opened to the general public on July 3, 1998 as the tallest turbo drop–type amusement ride in the world.

The ride consists of three individual Turbo Drop model towers arranged in a triangular footprint; the three towers joined at their peaks by a 60-foot-tall (18 m) pyramidal crown and marquee.

The entire structure is 312 feet (95 m) tall from the base to the top of the structure (325 feet (99 m), including topping flagpole) and is the tallest free-standing structure in Orange County. Supreme Scream carries 12 riders per tower in octagonal carriages upward at a speed of 8 miles per hour (13 km/h) before pausing for a brief moment at a height of 252 feet (77 m). Utilizing pneumatics paired with a pulley system, the ride carriages are then accelerated downward faster than a true free-fall to attain a top speed of 50 miles per hour (80 km/h)—exposing riders to a maximum G-force of 4 and negative G-force of -1a.
