Canada is a vast and rugged land. it covers more than half of the northern hemisphere from north to south and stretches nearly 7,560 kilometers from east to west in six time zones. It is the second largest country in the world, but only 0.5% of the world’s population lives there. Canada also has a land border with only one country: the United States of America. However, it also has maritime borders with Greenland, Saint Pierre and Miquelon. The border between Canada and the United States is the longest between the two countries in the world.

SUMMARY:
- Canadians are famous for saying sorry all the time, even when the other person is clearly in the wrong.
- Approximately 90% of Canada's land area is uninhabited. Even though it’s bigger than the US, it has only 11% of America's population!
- It's illegal for polar bears in Canada to break into houses and steal food. So, if you see one rummaging around in your fridge - call the cops!
- Canada received its own flag in 1965, almost 100 years after it became a separate country in 1867!
- One area in the Hudson Bay region has less gravity than any other region on the planet. So, if you want to jump higher and weigh less, that's the place to be!
- How about this one: Santa Claus is Canadian. That's what Canada's Immigration Minister announced in 2012.
- In 1930, Canada's hockey team did so well that they were put straight through to the final game.
- Ottawa, the capital of Canada, isn't the largest city in the country. With a population of about 1 million people, it comes second to Toronto, the capital of the Ontario province.
- In a 2018 Happiness Report, Canada was ranked #7. I mean, even despite all that cold?
- About 10% of Canadians are either vegetarians or vegans. That means 2.3 million vegetarians and 850,000 vegans. Most of these people are under 35.
- The capital city of Canada, Ottawa, is at the top of the list of the world's coldest capitals.
- The lowest ever recorded temperature in Canada was -81.4 degrees F (-63 degrees C)!
- While driving in northwest Canada, be prepared to see license plates shaped like a polar bear!
- Wood Buffalo National Park, created in 1922 to protect the largest herd of roaming Wood Bison in the world, is larger than Switzerland.
- One of the most popular dishes in Canada is poutine. Crispy fries covered with cheese curds and rich gravy.
- Canadians are some of the friendliest people in the world. You probably can’t find a rude Canadian even if you try really hard!
- Lots of Canadians speak French as their first language. And Montreal is the second largest French-speaking city in the world! After Paris, of course.

Canada Road Trip: Best Things To Do In Quebec

Looking for the best things to do in Quebec? Look no further! We'll show you the best things to do in Montreal, Quebec City, Mont Tremblant, and more~

Québec was the fifth province we visited on our 150-day road trip across Canada and in this video, we share some of the best things to do in Quebec!

Learn more about Quebec at

Québec is a big province full of history, nature, and diverse cities. As Canada’s only primarily French-speaking province, it’s quite different than the rest of the country. Also, due to the complicated history between the English and the French, Québec has always strived to create and keep its own identity, which is quite apparent in the pride they have for their own flag and other cultural practices. We learned so much during our time in the province and had a lot of fun exploring the cities and the surrounding nature.

Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?

We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

What's most impressive however, is that Canada's population is relatively low when compared to other countries of similar wealth.

So how is Canada so rich in 2022? How is its economy so strong? And are Canadians rich themselves?

Canada is a country in North America. Its ten provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean and northward into the Arctic Ocean, covering over 9.98 million square kilometres, making it the world's second-largest country by total area.

Canada | History | Geography | Culture | Scene of World

CCanada is a country in northern North America. Its 10 provinces and three territories extend from the Atlantic to the Pacific and north to the Arctic Ocean, covering 9.98 million square miles (3.85 million square kilometers), making it the world's second largest land area. The southern and western border of the United States, stretching 8,891 miles (5,525 mi), is the longest land border in the world. The Canadian capital is Ottawa, with three major cities in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.

Various indigenous peoples lived in what is now Canada thousands of years before European colonies. Beginning in the 16th century, British and French campaigns explored and later settled on the Atlantic coast. As a result of various armed conflicts, France annexed almost all of its colonies to North America in 1763. In 1867, with the unification of three British colonies in North America by the Confederation, Canada was established as a state of four provinces. This began with the accumulation of provinces and territories and the process of increasing independence from the United Kingdom. This growing independence was highlighted by the Westminster Statement of 1931 and culminated in the Canadian Act of 1982, which removed the remnants of legal dependence on the British Parliament.

From the 16th century to the early 18th century Canada referred to the part of New France that was on the Saint Lawrence River. In 1791, the area became two British colonies called Upper Canada and Lower Canada jointly renamed Canada; until their union as the British Province of Canada in 1841. During the Confederation in 1867, Canada was recognized as the official name of a new country at the Conference of London, and Dominion was given the title of state. By the 1950s, the name Dominion of Canada was no longer used by the United Kingdom, which considered Canada to be the Realm of the Commonwealth. The government of Louis St. Laurent abolished the practice of using Dominion in Canadian conventions in 1951.
