Phnom Penh Red Light District Night Walk [4K Cambodia Nightlife]
A 4K walk through one of Phnom Penh's red light districts along Street 136, Street 130 and Street 118. Phnom Penh is the capital city of Cambodia and I believe this is the biggest red light nightlife district in the area full of bars, hostess bars, massage parlous, restaurants etc. Cheap Angkor and Anchor beer abounds in this area. I walk down the various streets making my way back to the Sun and Moon Urban Hotel where I was staying. Recorded on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at night around 10:00 pm.

There are several areas in Phnom Penh where bars and nightlife venues are concentrated. The riverfront - A large number of bars and restaurants along Sisowath Quay, and on the side streets next the riverfront. Street 104 & Street 102 – many hostess bars. Street 136 (one block from Sisowath Quay) – Many hostess bars. Street 51 (between Street 154 and Street 174) – The famous Heart of Darkness, Walkabout, Shanghai, and many more venues are located here. See below for a sample of nightlife venues in Phnom Penh.

Poker
They don't have poker or casinos in Thailand, and I was itching to play on this trip after not being in a game for ages. I didn't want to get stuck in a game for hours on end like I did in Angeles City (Philippines) and lose drinking time in the bars. I set myself a challenge of only a maximum of 1 hour of play and if my cards connected then I'd have to put the entire $200 at risk and try to double it to $400. And that's what happened... :)
Street 172
This is Phnom Penh's cheap charlie area. It is home to many inexpensive bars, restaurants, guesthouses and also has a few hostess bars thrown in for good measure.
It is a good place to find $0.50 draught beers and many expat teachers congregate here in groups for the inexpensive offerings. The food is generally good here and many restaurants do take away service for the local expats.
Moto taxi rides
Phnom Penh is not a place to wander around alone late at night, even around the tourist areas. Cambodia is a much poorer country than Thailand, and reports of crimes against tourists/expats are often suppressed in the news.
Street 136
This is my favourite street for hostess bars in Phnom Penh. The Corner 136 is my favourite bar as they have a nice chilled balcony at the top, and a good bar downstairs with nightly dancing shows. A lot of hostess ladies inside too which is never a bad thing ;)
My hostess lady was very friendly and pleasant. We chatted about various different things including hotels, bar ladies often know all the best places to stay ;)
