Cuba is a Caribbean hotspot. The island is a combination of gorgeous landscapes and a unique way of life.
We start our journey in the far west of Cuba, at the tip of the tail of the crocodile-shaped island. Then, we head to the capital, Havana, to admire its splendour before continuing to the farming provinces of Sancti Spiritus and Camagüey.
Our journey will end in Baracoa, a place that Christopher Columbus nicknamed the most beautiful in the world.

I start off buying a sombrero from a couple that have never left Trinidad and explain their difficulties in buying materials for their business. I then head to the local store to show the limited stock they have and how it's impossible for locals to buy anything because the stores don't accept the national currency. Ridiculous I know. After drinking a Cancanchara we get a bicycle taxi to the housing projects where tourists don't go to show a different side to Trinidad. We ascend a roof through a tiny hole and get shown photos of La Trova when the island was a popular tourist destination.

In this four-part series, Cuban-Dutch Yuri Capetillo Hardy returns to his native country that he left 15 years ago. Going back is always filled with sorrow as his mother died, and his former house is filled with memories. But how is the situation now in Cuba? What has changed, and what is still the same? A documentary about Cuba that tries to capture the soul of the people and the country.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Cuban economy collapsed completely in the early 1990s. What Cuba saved was the emerging tourism. Doctors, engineers and other highly educated Cubans now look for a job in tourism as their jobs are not paid enough. But with tourism, the differences between rich and poor increase and there is a risk of a decline in the old values.
Some people even cautiously long back for Fidel. At least everyone was equal when he was in power. Yuri realizes that he has always taken the old socialist values for granted. How important are they to him? At the end of the episode he meets a young filmmaker with a message that confuses him.

Captured by Cuban Girls in Havana!????????
The weather in Cuba, especially in Havana, can often be extremely hot! To escape the city heat, I decided to venture from central Havana to a beach locale. Everyone recommended Varadero Beach, the most famous beach in Cuba that's usually teeming with tourists. However, I thought it would be a better idea to visit a different beach town, Guanavo, which is located two hours away from Havana. My day was filled with both positive and negative experiences, including an unexpected encounter with two mysterious Cuban girls.

Hay cosas que no salen en los documentales y los vídeos promocionales de Cuba, una vida real que a cada cubano le ha tocado vivir y solo nosotros la conocemos. Hay una Cuba maravillosa para los turistas y una real para los cubanos. Las carencias corroen nuestra sociedad a niveles insospechados, desembocan en corrupción, delincuencia, envidia y otros males que nos afectan hace tiempo. Queremos que nuestros hijos sean mejores que nosotros y muchas veces las familias terminan rotas producto de la emigración hacia USA y otros países, nuestros hijos arriesgan sus vidas para tener un futuro mejor. La racionalizar de la economía ha hecho más difícil la vida en Cuba, conseguir comida en los mercados y las tiendas, La Habana se lo siente al no haber turismo ni casi viajes a Cuba, las demás provincias se lo sienten más. La diferencia de clases se acentúa y los que no reciben remesas pasan más trabajo.
