1.Stuart Hughes Sells Speciality Black Diamond Phone For $15.3 Million
The phone has a solid-gold chassis that Hughes crafted by hand. But the real cost comes from the most expensive home button in the world.
That home button is made of a single, deep-cut, black diamond that weighs 26 carats. The diamond is said to be worth $14.5 million.
And the diamonds don't end there. There are 600 white, flawless diamonds located within the Apple logo on the back and on the edges.
The phone isn't available to the general public - not that most of the world's population could afford it. Hughes spent nine weeks creating the phone specifically for a Hong Kong businessman whom Hughes will only refer to as Joe. Joe had owned the black diamond for a while and decided he wanted to place it on an iPhone after buying other, cheaper items from Hughes in the past.
However, Hughes isn't worried that the world's most expensive smartphone might soon become outdated when Apple puts out a new iPhone (possibly this summer). He is confident other customers will want that next iPhone - whether it be called the iPhone 5S or 6 - to be adorned with diamonds and gold, too.
I have been commissioned to do all of the iPhones from when the 3G version first came out, said Hughes, who added he gets most of his business through referrals.

I Traveled 938 Miles to Replace My Wife’s iPhone!
Replacing a lost iPhone in Mexico is tougher than I imagined. In our case, we know exactly where it is - it's at the bottom of the turtle pond at the Serpentario in La Paz, Mexico.
Kat couldn't be the first gringa to permanently loan her phone to some turtles, right?
Turns out there is absolutely no easy way to replace an iPhone (with a US phone number) in Mexico. If you are in Mexico City, you can try going to one of the official Apple Stores (I think both are in Polanco.) They may be able to help. But it's not a sure thing.
Your other option: go back to the US to buy a phone - and activate it north of the border. That's the option I chose. This video documents the trials and tribulations of my 32 hour journey to replace a phone.
You do have the option of purchasing a cheap phone in Mexico - maybe a pre-paid one - and forwarding your calls to that phone. The folks at the number below can help set up the forwarding.
You can also buy an iPhone with a Mexican number in Mexico. And you may be able to get an eSIM with a US number, but you cannot move your US number.

500 grams Bread Flour or All Purpose Flour
9 grams salt
7 grams Active Dry Yeast
300 ml warm water ( 95-110 degrees)
1 T sugar
Meat Filling
1 lb ground beef
½ diced onion
½ head of cabbage, chopped into small pieces
1 ½ T salt
1 T black pepper
½ T thyme or other spices
2 T melted butter to brush on top or 1 egg to make egg wash.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-30 minutes.
