Hainan(海南省) in 4K

A somewhat longer than usual video about my trip to Hainan in September 2021. While I had very few expectations of this place, I was simply blown away by the beauty of this island, which probably 99% of its visitors never get to witness! And even though I lost my drone, that's been a great contributor to my videos for the past 4 years, I have nothing but positive memories from my trip. I tried to divide the video into 2 separate chapters, and also used the new editing software for the first time, so I'd really love to hear some feedback.
Let me know what you think about it in the comments below!

Best Time to Sanya Hainan
The tourist destination of Sanya China enjoys a tropical climate, and therefore it is warm throughout the year-round.

The yearly average temperature is about 28 degrees Celsius with June being the hottest month and February being the coldest. Sometimes Typhoons occur between May to September.

Peak season

The winter months between December to February is cool and pleasant, and therefore it is the best time for cultural adventure in Sanya. However, the sea can be quite cold in the mornings and evenings during the winter and you may not be able to enjoy the beach in this period of time. Hotels can be quite expensive in the peak season.

Off season

The summer months between April to June are quite hot and sultry, with temperature as high as 36 degrees Celsius. However, throughout the year, the mornings and evenings are pleasant due to the cool ocean breeze. Summers are indeed the best time for visitors who enjoy a strong sun and taking a sunbath to get tan along with low flight rates and hotel tariffs.

Sanya is an urban district in the very south of the Chinese island of Hainan and an absolutely heavenly place.

It is hard to imagine that once disagreeable officials and disgraced poets were exiled here.

The resort is surrounded on three sides by mountains densely covered with rain-forest, and on the fourth — it is washed by the warm sea.

By world standards, it is completely a young city. The first travelers appeared in Sanya only in the early 90's.

But now there is everything for the chic rest — cozy beaches, serene lagoons, beautiful nature and modern tourist infrastructure.

Why was the Nanshan Temple built?

Construction of the Nanshan Temple was completed in April 1998 to mark the 2000th anniversary of the arrival of Buddhism to China.
With the rapid urban growth on the island, the temple quickly became popular and receives many local and foreign visitors each year.

The Nanshan Temple
In Chinese history, the Nanshan Temple is really new. In fact, it only dates from the late 1990's.

However, the history behind it started over 2,000 years ago.

This temple was built in a beautiful setting on the seacoast and has become known as the Temple between the sky and sea.

The Nanshan Temple is a Buddhist compound located about 25 miles west of the city of Sanya, on the island of Hainan, in southern China.

Nanshan, which means Southern Mountain, is part of the Buddhism Culture Park-- one of the three parks that make up the Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone.

The other two parks are the Blessing and Longevity Park and Hainan Custom Culture Park. The Nanshan Temple is China's southernmost Buddhist shrine.

It is famous for housing a massive gold statue of Buddha and a statue of a Buddhist deity, over 300 feet high, built upon the sea.

One side of the statue faces the park and the other two face the sea, as a symbol of blessings and protection. Construction began in 1999 and finished in 2005. A concrete pedestal with three terraces was built for the statue. The religious figure was made mostly out of copper and is painted in white and gold. The base of the statue is connected to the avenue through a long bridge and is open to visitors.

Sanya International Duty Free City
Compared with the duty-free shops in Hong Kong, Beijing and other places, the price is not great. The Duty Free City is the world's largest single duty-free shop so you can imagine the richness of its products.

The location of Sanya Duty Free is relatively remote to Sanya downtown, but there are free shuttle buses to hotels in the Haitang Bay area.

Sanya Island Tour | China's Most Favored Resort City | Wuzhizhou Island | 4K HDR | 三亚 | 蜈支洲岛

Wuzhizhou Island is located off the coast of Hainan Province, China. This 1.48 square kilometre island is situated within Haitang Bay, approximately 30 kilometres northeast of Sanya, between Nanwan Monkey Island to the north, and Yalong Bay to the south.

Had an incredible time on the island. The white beaches are absolutely stunning, and the island has an abundance of water sports.

The swimming beach is very small but you can rent day beds, lockers and tubes.

Great variety of things to do on the island including helicopter rides, and under the sea walk.

Take lots of sunscreen as it greats incredibly hot on the island.

Had a great experience with a fun and vibrant performance by some expats living in Sanya! Great end to a fun-filled day on Wuzhizhou Island.

Wuzhizhou is a small island with an associated holiday village just off the coast of Hainan. Crystal clear sea, beautiful beaches, rare wildlife and coral reefs are its main attractions.

Wuzhizhou Island is located in Haitang Bay on the south coast of Hainan Island, about 30 kilometers (18 miles) due west from the city of Sanya. Wuzhizhou Island is located in Haitang Bay. Yalong Bay, known as The Best Bay in China is the next bay to the south. It is 38 kilometers (24 miles) from Phoenix Airport, Sanya.

Wuzhizhou Island has an area of 1.48 square kilometers (0.57 square miles) in the shape of an irregular butterfly with a length of 1400 meters from the east to the west and a width of 1100 meters from the north to the south.

As one of the few islands with fresh water and rich plant life around Hainan Island, it possesses more than 2000 species of plants and lots of rare trees, like the dragon tree Giant Panda in the Plants, as well as some rare botanic ecosystems.

There are more than 2000 different kinds of plants, trees and shrubs growing on the island. The altitude of the highest point in the southeast of the island is 80 meters (260 feet) with a dangerous cliff, reef and breaking waves.

Land in the west and north is relatively flat with soft white sandy beaches. The sea water there is extremely clear with a maximum visible depth of 27 meters (90 meters). It is rich in nightlight snails, sea cucumber, lobsters, sierra fish, urchins, pom-fret and colorful tropical fish.

The coral reefs, which are fantastic and of different shapes in the seabed of the southern sea area are well-preserved. Therefore, it is a great place for seawater exploration, especially for diving.

Two historical relics, namely the Matsu Temple and the Guanri Cliff, are the must-see spots.

Travel Essentials

Transport to the island is very convenient thanks to its location near Hainan's Eastern Highway and currently the biggest hovership in China, which is able to carry 70 people at a time to the island. The island is accessed from the airport by 25 kilometers (16 miles) of national highway, 6 kilometers (4 miles) of local road to Wuzhizhou Holiday Village and a 6 kilometer (4 mile) boat ride across the bay.

Weather: Wuzhizhou Island, which is of a typical tropical maritime climate, is endowed with a pleasant temperature all the year round - an ideal place for holidays, leisure, winter escapes, winter swimming and other recreation.

Telephones: There are telephone boxes on the island, and you can also use the telephone in the hotel room if you have paid the deposit at the front desk.

Besides, there is mobile phone reception in Wuzhizhou Holiday Village, and on the beach, Guanri Cliff and on the highest point of the island.

Clothing and equipment: Usually summer clothes are enough, but you'd better bring some outer layers with long sleeves during the period from January to March as it may be cold in the evening or in the sea breeze.

Sunglasses and hats should be taken to protect you from the strong sunshine and sun screen should be used if you are susceptible to sun burn. You may also require mosquito repellent and medicine for sea sickness.

The video features the highlights of our trip to Hainan island in China.
Hainan island is a big tropical island in south of China.
Many people tend to compare it with Hawaii but I think it is not a right thing to do because Hainan is very special and incomparable.
This is our second time here and it is even better than the first one.
We love this island and hope that you will enjoy this video.
