Prague Walking Tour: Powder Tower, Old Town Square, Charles Bridge ???????? Czech Republic 4K HDR ASMR

It rained all day, and it was only towards evening that the sun came out. I couldn't sit at home and went out to capture this amazing evening for you. Experience the captivating allure of Prague's historic streets on a mesmerizing walking tour. Follow the enchanting path from Celetna Street to the renowned Old Town Square, and continue your journey to the majestic Charles Bridge. This immersive 4K HDR ASMR video invites you to immerse yourself in the heart of Bohemia, wandering through the picturesque cobblestone alleys, admiring the magnificent architecture, and embracing the enchanting ambiance of Prague's Old Town Square. Step into the footsteps of centuries of history as you encounter the legendary Charles Bridge, adorned with statues and offering panoramic vistas of the scenic Vltava River. Let the soothing sounds of ASMR transport you into the essence of Prague's magic.

01:20 The Powder Tower is one of Old Town's original 13 city gates, Prague. Its construction began in 1475. The tower was intended to be an attractive entrance into the city instead of a defensive tower. The foundation stone was placed by Vladislav II. The city council gave Vladislav II the tower as a coronation gift. While it was being built, it was called the New Tower. The tower's look was inspired by Peter Parler's work on the Charles Bridge.

02:15 Celetná is a street in the Old Town, Prague, connecting the Old Town Square with the Powder Gate. It is one of Prague's oldest streets and part of the Royal Route. Although, Celetná is a former Prague trade route. The street is named after bread baked in the area during the Middle Ages. It became a part of the Royal Route in the 14th century (The coronation parade).

07:50 The Old Town Square is the oldest and most important square in historical Prague. It is surrounded by historical buildings such as the Old Town City Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock, the imposing St. Nicholas Church and Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and many houses and palaces of various architectural styles and colorful history. It has been a center of Prague Old Town since the middle ages when it was a marketplace crossing European merchants' roads. The first houses were built around the Old Town Square in the 12 and 13 centuries. Some present homes still have Romanesque or Gothic foundations, basements, or ground floors. The Old Town City Hall was built in the 14 century and the Church of Our Lady before Tyn a little later. The Old Town Square became Prague Old Town's economic and political center.

12:15 Karlova (Charles) is the name of a street in Prague's Old Town. The street winds between Malý and Křižovnické náměstí. It is headed east-west. From the east, it is connected from the left by Jilská, Jalovcová, Husova, Liliová and Smetanovo nábřeží streets. From the right, Hus, Seminářská and Křižovnická. On Křižovnické náměstí, it continues through the Charles Bridge to Malá Strana to Mostecká; the Old Town Square is connected to the Small Square. Charles Street is for pedestrians only. It is named after Charles IV. It is part of the so-called Royal Route.

17:50 Charles Bridge (Karlův most) is a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava River in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV and finished in the early 15th century. The bridge replaced the old Judith Bridge built in 1158–1172, which a flood severely damaged in 1342. This new bridge was initially called Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or Prague Bridge (Pražský most) but has been referred to as Charles Bridge since 1870. The bridge is 516 meters (1,693 ft) long and nearly 10 meters (33 ft) wide. Following the example of the Stone Bridge in Regensburg, it was built as a bow bridge with 16 arches shielded by ice guards. It is protected by three bridge towers, two on the Lesser Quarter side (including the Malá Strana Bridge Tower) and one on the Old Town side, the Old Town Bridge Tower. The bridge is decorated by a continuous alley of 30 statues and statuaries, mostly baroque-style, originally erected around 1700; all have been replaced by replicas. Charles Bridge has suffered several disasters and witnessed many historical events. Czech legend has it that construction began on Charles Bridge at 5:31 am on 9 July 1357, with the first stone being laid by Charles IV himself. This time was crucial to the Holy Roman Emperor because he firmly believed in numerology and felt that this specific time, which formed a palindrome (1357 9/7 5:31), was a numerical bridge and would imbue Charles Bridge with additional strength. The bridge was completed 45 years later, in 1402.

Prague - City Video Guide

The Central European city of Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic and is one of the world's great architectural jewels.

Like a city from a children's story book the city conjures up images of romantic fairy stories and dark gothic folk tales.

The city is a cobblestone labyrinth where even locals get happily lost. An easy way to discover Prague is to follow the Royal Route, which starts at the Powder Tower and ends at Prague Castle.

Along the way, stop at Old Town Square, a plaza surrounded by former palaces. Highlights here include the Astronomical Clock and Tyn Church. Explore the Old Town to discover sidewalk cafes, galleries and the ancient Jewish Quarter.

Pass beneath the Bridge Tower, cross the beautiful Charles Bridge, then climb the hill to Prague Castle. Rising above the castle are the 600 year-old gothic spires of St Vitus Cathedral.

Nearby, visit the tiny houses of Golden Lane, once the homes of castle guards, and later, the city's goldsmiths.

At night, locals and travelers meet under the statue of St Wencesias, to begin even more adventures in this most magical of cities.

Charles Bridge (Karlův most) is a medieval stone arch bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic.
The bridge is decorated by a continuous alley of 30 statues and statuaries, mostly baroque-style, originally erected around 1700, but now all have been replaced by replicas.
Charles Bridge has suffered several disasters and witnessed many historical events. Czech legend has it that construction began on Charles Bridge at 5:31 am on 9 July 1357, with the first stone being laid by Charles IV himself. This time was crucial to the Holy Roman Emperor because he was a firm believer in numerology and felt that this specific time, which formed a palindrome (1357 9/7 5:31), was a numerical bridge and would imbue Charles Bridge with additional strength. The bridge was completed 45 years later, in 1402.

Karlova (Charles) is the street in Prague's Old Town.

The Old Town Square is Prague's oldest and most important square. It is surrounded by historical buildings such as the Old Town City Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock, the imposing St. Nicholas Church and Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and many houses and palaces of various architectural styles and colorful history. It has been a center of Prague's Old Town since the middle ages when it was a marketplace crossing European merchants' roads.
