Busan Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia

Busan – from mountains to sea to the city’s palpable vitality, join us as we explore the world this popular South Korean vacation spot.

Check out all the places we visited in this video:

When ready, browse vacation packages to Busan:

#Busan sits on the Korean Peninsula’s southern coastline, just a short flight from Asian capitals like Beijing and Tokyo.

Busan’s coastline offers scenery to match your every mood. Just a 40-minute subway ride from Busan Station is the city’s star attraction, Haeundae Beach. Seeking a little enlightenment? Make a wish at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, one of the few temples in Korea built by the ocean. While Busan’s story has been shaped by the sea, it’s a city equally defined by its mountains. On Mt Cheonma, hike to the observation platform to see “Dynamic Busan” spread out before you.

The colorful village of Gamcheon is symbolic of Busan’s new-found creative energy. The residents of Gamcheon transformed their neighborhood into one of the city’s top tourist #attractions. This creativity is echoed in Busan’s word-class museums, galleries and festivals.

Welcome to Busan, a feast for all the senses, and the soul.

For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

3-Day Busan Guide — Busan, South Korea | The Travel Intern

3 Days in Busan too short? Here is a 4D3N itinerary for you:

Mention Busan and the first thing that comes to your mind is probably the movie 'Train to Busan'. But there's so much more to see and do in this charming coastal city! Let us show you what you can do here in 3 days! LET'S GO!!!

----------------------------------------------
DAY 1 (00:12)

East Busan Exploration Day Tour (00:14 - 00:53)

00:14 - Oryukdo Skywalk
A horseshoe-shaped bridge set up against a 35m coastal cliff overlooking the Oryukdo island! Hence, the name. (Duh!) The bridge also makes a great stopover for photos if you’re on the way to your next destination.

00:27 - Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
Known as the temple by the sea (It literally is!), it offers one of the best views you can get in Busan outside of the city ???? Here, you can pray for various blessings like academic achievements (sign me up!), or visit the Jijang Bosal (The Bodhisattva of the Afterlife) statue at the sunrise platform.

00:42 - Jukseong Dream Church
It is said that your dreams will come true if you pray in this church... SIKE! It's actually a set built specifically for a Korean drama! HAHAHA!

00:54 - Goraesa Fishcake
You can find all sorts of fishcake here! LITERALLY EVERY RENDITION YOU CAN POSSIBLY THINK OF. Our favourites were the gooey cheese-filled and fried shrimp ones, yum yum yum!

01:09 - Sea Life Aquarium
From big sharks to sea turtles, small starfish, sea horses and elegant stingrays, get up close to all those sea creatures at the aquarium! Keep your eyes peeled for exciting shows like shark and stingray feeding sessions or even a glass-bottom boat ride.

DAY 2 (01:21)

01:24 - Jagalchi Fish Market
By far the largest fish market in Korea, you can find (Or taste) the freshest catch here! There is a seafood buffet restaurant on the 5th floor that you can try out huge varieties of seafood dishes. Hungry yet? ;)

01:42 - Korean Cooking Class Experience
Learn how to make your own Korean meal from experts! We whipped up a seafood pancake, spicy chicken stew, japchae (stir-fried glass noodles with sesame and vegetables), and grilled mackerel ????

02:03 - Gamcheong-Dong Cultural Village
The Santorini of the East, the Machu Picchu of Busan, this is the ideal spot to snap your Instagram picture! Many alleys that cut through this community are vibrantly decorated with murals and sculptures created by the residents.

02:15 - Gukje Market
Shop till you drop at the largest traditional market in Busan! It is also connected to the Gwangbokro Fashion Street, my personal shopping heaven of vintage shops, indie brands, and cheap basics.

02:33 - BIFF Square
It’s appropriately dubbed the Hollywood Boulevard of Busan with its equivalent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Try to find your favourite oppa's palm prints on the ground along this 428m long street!

DAY 3 (02:46)

02:48 - Hanbok Rental
Live out your historical Korean drama fantasies but renting a Hanbok!

03:06 - Busan Tower
Catch the mesmerising views of the Busan skyline from the top of the famous Busan Tower! If you’re here as a couple, you can even add your very own lock to the “Love Lock” fences below ????

03:21 - Taejongdae Park
A great place to catch the scenic views of the sea but an even better place to take sick IG pictures!

03:36 - Seomyeon Shopping District
Experience Busan's nightlife as well as shop till you drop (Again)!

Top 10 Things to See and Do in Busan - South Korea Travel Guide

???? KOREA TOURISM ORGANIZATION:
???? WATCH: EXOTIC RAW SEAFOOD IN BUSAN -
???? BLOG: TOP 25 THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN BUSAN:

DISCLAIMER: Brands mentioned are based on my own personal taste.

Back in May of 2019, I had the pleasure of exploring the coastal city of Busan, South Korea. These are the top 10 things you must see and do in Busan!

1. GAMCHEON CULTURE VILLAGE: An artsy, colorful, and labyrinth-like historical neighborhood that’s offers breathtaking ocean and mountain views, as well as unusual street food. Try the bungeoppang and the orange gelatin balls with powdered peanuts!

2. HAEUNDAE BEACH: The longest beach in South Korea and one of the country’s most popular beaches. Throughout the year, it hosts events such as the Polar Bear Club and part of the Busan International Film Festival. It’s also a great place to sunbathe, swim, and enjoy water sports.

3. JAGALCHI MARKET: Korea’s largest seafood market, which contains multiple levels that include seafood vendors, restaurants, and dining halls. Buy a fish from a vendor on the sprawling lower level and have them send it up to the cooks on the third level to enjoy an incredible chobap feast!

4. BIFF SQUARE: A large square across from Jagalchi Market that hosts part of the Busan International Film Festival. It’s home to many street food vendors who offer everything from sweet to savory to exotic foods. Try the eomuk, sundae, mandu, dakgangjeong, garibi, roasted stuffed marshmallow, and waffle ball!

5. BUSAN TOWER: A 120-meter-tall tower in Yongdusan Park that offers the best views of Busan. The circular observation deck at the top allows you to see Busan’s neighborhoods and attractions from countless angles. You can also visit the gift shops and galleries on the lower levels.

6. TAEJONGDAE RESORT PARK: A beautiful, natural area in a thick, evergreen forest on the island of Yeongdo, just off the coast of downtown Busan. Visit the Taejongdae Clam Tents for a unique and squirmy seafood lunch, and then explore the park to see Buddhist temples, seaside lighthouses, gorgeous cliffs, and distant islands in the ocean.

7. SHINSEGAE CENTUM CITY: The largest shopping complex in the world, which boasts nine levels and countless stores, kiosks, and restaurants. You’ll find everything from cosmetics shops to casual apparel stores to luxury boutiques inside. There are even an arcade and an ice-skating rink!

8. SAJIK BASEBALL STADIUM: The best place in Busan to enjoy South Korea’s favorite pastime, baseball! The atmosphere in the stands as fans cheer on the Lotte Giants is electric! Complete the experience by getting a jersey or a hat, having a cold beer, and enjoying some tteokbokki and eomuk from the concession stand!

9. YONGDUSAN PARK: A 69,000-square-meter park that is home to Busan Tower, the Museum of World Folk Instruments, and the Exhibition Hall of World Model Boats. There are also wonderful outdoor spaces with lots of trees!

10. BEOMEOSA TEMPLE: Busan’s most famous Buddhist temple. For full immersion, book an overnight stay to learn about Korean Buddhist culture from the resident monks, take part in prostrations and meditation, and enjoy delicious monastic meals.

BONUS – DAY TRIP TO DAEGU: Roughly an hour northwest of Busan is the city of Daegu, which is off the beaten path for most tourists. I recommend visiting Kim Kwang-seok Street and trying the galbi jjim at Bongusan jjimgalbi!

And those are the top 10 things you must do in Busan, South Korea!

Busan Vacation Travel Guide - Visit the Astonishing Beaches at Haeundae and Gwangalli

Planning on visiting Busan? Watch and explore the wonderful destination Busan has to offer. The top destinations of cultural and historical sites, beautiful beaches, delectable restaurants, and cozy accommodations.

The great destinations that you can visit such as the wonderful Gamcheon Culture Village, Sealife Busan Aquarium, which is the perfect destination if you brought a child with you. Temples such as the Haedong Yonggungsa Temple are one of three sacred places South Korea has. Busan Tower, and Taejongdae Resort Park, are also tourist preferred spots due to their magnificent location.

The top 5 beaches of Busan namely Gwangalli Beach, Haeundae Beach, Dadaepo Beach, Songjeong Beach, and Songdo Beach. These beaches are the renowned beaches that you can find in the soil of Busan. Despite the few beaches, you can still enjoy your leisure time on the beach!

Accommodation such as hotels is an important aspect for travelers, the recommended hotels that you can stay at are Toyoko Inn Busan Station No. 1, Denbasta Central Hotel, One Way Guesthouse Busan, Lavalse Hotel Busan, and Crown Harbor Hotel Busan. The restaurants, however, are widely scattered, due to its overly saturated business, but you will still definitely enjoy them!

These superb restaurants we recommend are Samjin Eomuk, Dongrae Byeljang and Nampo Samgyetang. Be aware that few of these restaurants do not have english translated on their menus. Overall, Busan is filled with excitement and joy; you will definitely enjoy your holiday vacation here.

South Korea, located on the peninsula between Japan and China, is a nation of contradictions. You’ll find an ancient culture that goes back thousands of years, bolstered by high-tech industries and glowing modern cities. These elements, seemingly at odds, often mix together to create a truly unique experience.

Your Korea tour begins with Seoul, a mega-city full of theatres, casinos, restaurants, and pubs. If you love shopping, you’re in luck: Korea loves nothing better than offering a chance for some good purchases. Entire districts are devoted to stores, vendors, and malls, so make sure your credit card is ready to go.

If you’re engaging in some sightseeing in Korea, you can’t go wrong with a dedicated visit to the many temples and palaces that dot the country. Many of these sacred locations are adorned with ponds, moats, and trees, allowing you to get back in touch with nature while you explore this nation’s vast history.

Stop by the museums and galleries of your choice to get a taste of the local modern culture. You’ll find fine art, eccentric modern pieces, and everything in between—and best of all, you can stop for delicious Korean food on just about any corner.

What will you do in Korea?

Welcome to Haeundae Beach, one of Busan, South Korea’s most famous tourist destinations.

Sightseeing in Haeundae Beach can take up your entire trip, so plan out your time accordingly and get ready to join the party. This bustling district, located an hour from Gimhae International Airport (PUS), is loaded with casinos, resorts, and eateries. You can wander the streets for hours and never run out of new restaurants to try or clubs to dance in and out of.

When you’ve finished enjoying the party in the downtown area, tour Haeundae Beach itself. The sandy white beachfront is just under a mile long, and provides the perfect place for a stroll along the seashore or a dip in the sea. Haeundae Beach is popular with travelers and Korean residents alike, though it sees the bulk of its international visitors in the summer months. If you’re visiting from July through August, stake out your claim on the beach early in the morning, as the sandy strip vanishes beneath a sea of umbrellas by early afternoon.

Head to nearby Dongbaeseom to try your luck at fishing, or gather with hundreds of other beachgoers to enjoy one of the many festivals held there throughout the year. Haeundae Beach is a fine spot to view the New Year Sunrise—if you’re visiting during that time, you can gather with thousands of other revelers to watch the sun come up and start the new cycle. The celebratory feeling suits Haeundae Beach perfectly.

What is your favorite memory from Haeundae Beach?
