EXTREME Street Food in Azerbaijan!! KING OF KEBABS + Local Food in Baku, Azerbaijan!

???????? Best Senegalese Food:
???? Subscribe:

BAKU, AZERBAIJAN - Welcome to Baku, an exciting city on the Caspian Sea in Azerbaijan! Today I’m hanging out with my friends from reAzerbaijan, and we’re taking you on an ultimate and extreme street food tour - it’s going to be meaty! #ExperienceAzerbaijan #Baku

First of all, a huge thank you to reAzerbaijan for arranging my trip to Azerbaijan, it wouldn’t have been possible without them.

reAzerbaijan:
Adnan:

As Adnan and Farhad explained to me, unfortunately during the Soviet period, Azerbaijan wasn’t able to develop their street food culture that much and creativity was omitted. When Azerbaijan broke away from the Soviet Union, it was the Turkish who influenced much of the Azerbaijani street food culture. So you will definitely find some similarities, and yet some differences.

We started this extreme street food tour in Baku by going to one of the oldest Soviet style cafes for a quick piroshky on the go. It was pretty oily, but pretty tasty especially when drenched in tomato sauce.

Amin Kabab - Next stop on this food tour, we went to Amin Kabab, a small neighborhood kebab grill for a quick Lyulya kebab, or chopped meat kebab.

Eskulap Restoran - If you’re looking for one of the best local Azerbaijan kebab meat restaurants in Baku, this is the spot. Adnan explained it’s a legendary restaurant he’s been coming to since he was a kid. They specialize in all things lamb, and along with a variety of stews and braised dishes, one of their specialties is the Khan Kebab, lamb liver wrapped in caul fat and grilled. I also loved the lamb braised in sour plums and barberries and the insane dessert kebab of ground walnuts and lamb fat. What a meal!

To continue this extreme street food tour in Baku we headed to a lamb street where lambs hang on the street, you choose your cut from nose to tail. The organs and jaws are some of the most popular items here. We tried lamb jaws and testicles - both of which were pretty tasty.

Köz Halil Usta - Finally to complete this food tour, we had to eat at Köz Halil Usta for tantuni, a Turkish in origin food, but one of the most popular street foods in Azerbaijan. They fry up beef slices with spices and sunflower oil and wrap into your choice of bread or lavash. It’s something you could watch all day being made and it’s so incredibly addictive.

And that wraps up Azerbaijani food tour in Baku. It’s an incredible city and the lamb and meats are spectacular!

Thank you again to Adnan from reAzerbaijan for arranging my trip!

The Seasons of Eagle River | S35 Ep. 12

This year on Discover Wisconsin, Eric experiences the seasons in Eagle River with friends and family. DW host, Alex Wherley, even joins us for a little rustic winter fun.

As the summer sun hits Eagle River, Eric treks up north with his family and friends. Upon arrival, they begin their morning adventure sailing the chain of lakes by pirate ship. Captain Steve invites all young lads and lassies aboard for a brief lesson on Eagle River lakes and wildlife. Captain Steve’s favorite part? Watching kids grow up over the last 19 years as families return annually to Eagle River’s waters. Eric and friends continue their adventures at Burger Bash downtown where they meet grillmaster, Chris Westfall. Eric and Chris duck out for a bit to chat about Chris’s summer trips to Eagle River as a child, fostering his love and nostalgia for the Northwoods.

As Fall hit Eagle River, Eric returns to enjoy a solo trip among the colors. He meets with musky hunter Jared Adamovich for a fishing adventure on Eagle Lake. From one lake to another, Eric heads to Lake Nokomis for a cranberry marsh tour with David Zawitowski where he learns about Wisconsin’s state fruit. After a peaceful morning, Eric changes it up with a little Cranberry Fest fun. Finally, he joins Kim Emerson at the Vilas County State Fair for a plethora of cranberry goodness including cranberry beer and cranberry brats.
As winter takes over Eagle River, Eric heads back up once again. This time, DW host Alex Wherley gets in on the action. The two head up to Eagle River to meet some of the locals for an Eagle River guys and gals weekend. The guys bulk up on some breakfast at Leif’s Cafe before they head off for fat tire biking while the gals warm up with a cup of Joe at Eagle River roasters before heading out for a scenic snowmobile ride. After the rush, the guys put some calories back on with a few brews at Tribute Brewing Co. while chatting with the owner about the abundance of winter activities Eagle River offers.

As we come full circle with Spring, Eric returns to Eagle River with his fiancé, Ann to enjoy a couples weekend in the city’s growing downtown. Not only has Eagle River expanded their local shops and restaurants, but the chamber of commerce has also cultivated a strong community through various events such as the Memorial Day Arts and Crafts Show. Here, Eric and Ann walk the sidewalk sales where local craftsmen and artists present and sell their work. The two also enjoy the events put on by The Warehouse Community Art Center in Eagle River. Eric and Ann meet John Langer, a potter and teacher at the Warehouse for a throwing lesson and great conversation. We finish it off with some wine and charcuterie board munchies at Mary Kate’s Wine Bar.

It’s hard to match the beauty and reprieve of the northwoods. Every season offers unique and rustic experiences for those who long for the outdoors. It is also difficult to beat Eagle River’s tight knit community. There’s a reason these people are “Up North and Down to Earth!”

Baltic Coasts (2/10): Piers and Harbours | Season 1: Germany

Even today, the steep coast of the Bay of Kiel is a valued landmark for skippers. 1000 feet above, the helicopter crosses the Marine Memorial in Laboe, following a maritime route from Kiel to Luebeck. In the beautiful landscape of Holstein Switzerland, an artist tells the story of the Baltic with sea-imprinted tiles. In the mystic lagoons of Graswarder, fly fishermen chase for sea trouts. Niendorf port is home to a young potter, who took over her father's shop right at the old harbour just outside of Luebeck, where the tour of this episode ends with the tales of the Hansa league.

Watch all episodes of the Baltic Coasts series:

** Baltic Coasts - Season 1: Mare Balticum is a term that connects nine countries around Europe's largest continental waters: the Baltic Sea. Most of the coastline belongs to the European Union today, but the differences between these countries are as huge as their historic backgrounds from trade to war. With aerials as narrative framework, interesting people share their life and work around the Baltic shores. Subscribe to wocomoTRAVEL: Follow us on Facebook:

Day Trip to Jefferson ???? (FULL EPISODE) S3 E7

THROWBACK EPISODE - This episode originally aired on PBS on May 16, 2012. Some of the locations may have changed. Check for the most up-to-date information.

While Jefferson may fully deserve its title as the “B&B Capital of Texas,” it also deserves its title as “The Most Haunted Small Town in Texas. And with a bayou, swamp and some mean fried catfish -- this ain't your typical small Texas town!

The best place to get an education about town is at the Jefferson Historical Museum — it’s overflowing with floors and floors of history. Here, you’ll learn about Jefferson’s booming days back when it’s location on the Big Cypress Bayou made it one of the top shipping towns in Texas!

Explore Jefferson in style with a Jefferson Texas Carriage ride. You’ll ride past the dozens of historic buildings in town, like the Jefferson Hotel and Excelsior House, an old 1850s hotel with a guest list that includes Steven Spielberg, Lady Bird Johnson and dozens more!

Visit The Grove to discover why Jefferson is “The Most Haunted Small Town in Texas.” Built in 1861, this spooky house might just be your glimpse into “the other side.” While you’re touring it, keep your eyes peeled for “The Lady in White” who is one of the hotel’s most famous ghosts.

Across from the Excelsior House, you’ll find the private rail car of Jay Gould, famous railroad tycoon in the 1800s. The rail car is luxurious with almost 12 rooms and is practically the modern equivalent of a private jet. It’s crazy seeing all he fit into this car!

To experience the beautiful side of northeast Texas, but one that is just as scary as Jefferson, itself, in its own swampy way, head to Caddo Lake. The State Park is a great way to experience the lake, but with towering cypress and gray Spanish moss, it’s easy to get turned around. If you want to really explore the lake, grab a tour with one of the local tour companies.

Sadly, the Hamburger Store has permanently closed since filming.

The Jefferson General Store has everything you need for a day trip and more! It’s got a hodgepodge of knicknacks from candy to toys to cowboy hats! But most important is the homemade pecan pralines and 5 cent coffee!

If you’re hungry enough to eat the whole dang bayou, then head to RiverBend Restaurant where you can enjoy a waterfront meal of the whole catfish (seriously it’s still on the bone!) Each meal comes served with made-from-scratch coleslaw and hush puppies!

Warsaw, the capital of Poland, boasts a dynamic and evolving food and restaurant scene that beautifully reflects the city's rich history, cultural diversity, and forward-looking culinary innovations. From traditional Polish delicacies to global flavors and modern gastronomy, Warsaw offers a captivating culinary journey for residents and visitors alike.

Polish cuisine plays a central role in Warsaw's food culture. It's renowned for its hearty, soul-warming dishes that are perfect for the country's often cold winters. Pierogi, Poland's beloved dumplings, come in various fillings, from cheese and potato to minced meat. At Warsaw's traditional milk bars, you can relish pierogi and other classic dishes like bigos (hunter's stew) and kielbasa (sausages) in an authentic setting.

For a taste of Polish history and nostalgia, dine in a karczma, a traditional Polish inn that captures the charm of yesteryears. Here, you can savor old recipes and experience the ambiance of a bygone era.

Warsaw's vibrant international community has led to a diverse array of culinary influences. You can easily find Italian trattorias, Japanese sushi bars, Mexican taquerias, and more. The city's eclectic food culture reflects its openness to global flavors.

Poland's Jewish heritage is also celebrated through the flavors of Jewish cuisine. Be sure to sample dishes like gefilte fish, cholent, and blintzes in the historic Jewish district, where restaurants pay tribute to this rich culinary history.

One of the standout experiences in Warsaw is indulging in street food. Traditional Polish street food, such as zapiekanka (oven-baked baguette), and kebabs from food stalls are popular options for quick, delicious meals.

Warsaw's vibrant cafe culture is another delight. You can savor aromatic Polish coffee accompanied by delectable pastries. Szarlotka, a traditional Polish apple pie, is often a sweet highlight.

When it comes to beverages, Poland is famous for its vodka, and you'll find a range of flavored vodkas to try. Additionally, craft beer has been on the rise in Warsaw, with microbreweries serving up creative and unique brews.

Warsaw is also a haven for food festivals and markets. Events like the Pierogi Festival and the Bread and Gingerbread Museum attract both locals and tourists who wish to explore the city's culinary heritage.

For a more contemporary dining experience, Warsaw's gastronomy scene offers a wealth of Michelin-starred and award-winning restaurants. These establishments embrace innovation and fusion, creating exciting, modern dishes that push the boundaries of Polish cuisine.
