Budapest: The Taste of Europe. Timelab & Havasi collaboration

For licensing and collabs:

Subscribe to Timelab:

This new image-based video clip about Budapest is the result of an international collaboration between the Russian TimeLab video studio and the world-famous Hungarian musician, Havasi. In the video we see sleepy Budapest trams crossing the Széchenyi chain bridge.. dawn over the Danube River.. the majestic layout of the city from a bird's eye view... the glittering lights of Budapest by night... and the sunset over St Stephen's Basilica... and all this juxtaposed with the astounding music of Havasi.

The music in the clip is Havasi's track 'Golden Eagle’. It catches the special atmosphere, the amazing feeling of flight – and the underlying nobility of the city.

The project isn't their first collaboration with the Russian team. Last year, the Hungarians viewed a film Timelab had made about winter in St Petersburg - and suggested using the footage in one of their clips. This is how their Houdini's Dream project came about.

Our video team were extremely impressed with Budapest – it's a phenomenal city. It's soaked up the best of many of Europe's greatest cities. Look closely at the architecture, and you find something of everything – a little bit of Paris, a bit of St Petersburg, snippets of London... What really blew us away was the Chain Bridge over the Danube – it's an iconic symbol of the city. There are no restrictions on filming with drones in Budapest, The Hungarian state authorities and city administration are very laid-back about all that, and want to share what they have with tourists. It meant we had complete creative freedom.

Filmed on a Zenmuse X7 camera, attached to a DJI Inspire 2 drone.

The Timelab team are setting out on a whole series of international projects. “Upcoming we have Hong Kong, Switzerland, Rome, and Paris. We want to film in the Middle East countries, as well as China, and start to film in Africa. Creative art videos of world destinations are our passion. We aim to create a documentary film portrait for every corner of our amazing planet.

We don’t give permissions to use any of our footage without licensing / payment, it’s also not available for non-commercial use.

Partnered: The New York Times, BBC, National Geographic, FIFA, «Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw», airports halls, The World Tourism Organization congress, Forbes..

With an estimated 2016 population of 1,759,407 distributed over a land area of about 525 square kilometres (203 square miles), Budapest is also one of the most densely populated major cities in the EU. Budapest is both a city and county, and forms the centre of the Budapest metropolitan area, which has an area of 7,626 square kilometres (2,944 square miles) and a population of 3,303,786, comprising 33 percent of the population of Hungary. The Budapest metropolitan area had a GDP of $141.0 billion (€129.4 billion) in 2016, accounting for 49.6 percent of the GDP of Hungary. GDP per capita in the city is $64,283, which means 148% of the EU average measured on purchasing power parity. Thereby the city is among the top 100 GDP performing cities in the world and making it one of the largest regional economies in the European Union.

The history of Budapest began with Aquincum, originally a Celtic settlement that became the Roman capital of Lower Pannonia. Hungarians arrived in the territory in the 9th century. Their first settlement was pillaged by the Mongols in 1241. The re-established town became one of the centres of Renaissance humanist culture by the 15th century. Following the Battle of Mohács and nearly 150 years of Ottoman rule, the region entered a new age of prosperity, and Budapest became a global city with the unification of Buda and Óbuda on the west bank with Pest on the east bank on November 17, 1873. Budapest also became the co-capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, a great power that dissolved in 1918, following World War I. The city was the focal point of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, the Battle of Budapest in 1945, and the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

Budapest is cited as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, ranked as the world's second best city by Condé Nast Traveler, and Europe's 7th most idyllic place to live by Forbes. Among Budapest's important museums and cultural institutions, the most visited art museum is the Museum of Fine Arts, which is noted for one of the largest collections of all periods of European art and comprises more than 100,000 pieces. Further famous museums and galleries are the Hungarian National Museum, House of Terror, Franz Liszt Academy of Music, Hungarian State Opera House and National Széchényi Library. The central area of the city along the Danube River is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has many notable monuments, including the Hungarian Parliament, Buda Castle, Fisherman's Bastion, Gresham Palace, Széchenyi Chain Bridge, Matthias Church and the Liberty Statue. Another famous landmarks include Andrássy Avenue, St. Stephen's Basilica, Heroes' Square, the Great Market Hall, the Nyugati Railway Station built by the Eiffel Company of Paris in 1877 and the second-oldest metro line in the world, the Millennium Underground Railway. The city also has around 80 geothermal springs, the largest thermal water cave system, second largest synagogue, and third largest Parliament building in the world. Budapest attracts 4.4 million international tourists per year, making it the 25th most popular city in the world and the 6th in Europe.

???? Copenhagen Street Food Tour:
???? 100% Real Durian Chips - Order Here:

Welcome to Budapest, Hungary, an amazing city, full of history, beauty, and delicious Hungarian food! Today, I headed with my friend Adam ( to go on an ultimate Hungarian street food tour in Budapest. #Budapest #Hungary #HugarianFood

Great Market Hall - It’s one of the coolest markets in the world, a massive indoor market hall. Inside you’ll find all things Hungarian food, from an immense array of sausages and famous Hungarian cured meats to loads of paprika, and Hungarian pickles. We had an amazing time walking around, discovering the ingredients that make Hungarian food unique.

Fakanal Etterem - This is a nice restaurant on the second floor of the Great Market Hall, the chef recommended the eggs with sausage and extra chilies. It was delicious and the best way to get this street food tour started. Price - 970 HUF ($3.20)

Belvárosi Disznótoros - Next we walked over to Belvárosi Disznótoros, a locally popular restaurant for all things Hungarian meat. Inside you’ll find meat paradise - sausages of all kinds, meats galore, and something I noticed that we had to try - Mangalica pig - a special hairy pig from Hungary. Total price - 5,348 HUF ($17.65)

Price - 1,200 HUF ($3.96) each

Retró Lángos Büfé - If you’re looking for the real deal Hungarian street food in Budapest, look no further than Retró Lángos Büfé, and specifically the food called langos. It’s a type of fried bread, loaded with you choice of toppings. We got the original with cream, cheese, and onions. It was everything you could possibly want on a fried bread, and incredibly tasty. I can still feel the pillowy dough sinking into my teeth. Price - 800 HUF ($2.64)

It was a local spot with some unique and huge deep fried dishes. Great place, amazing food, and by the end of the day, we were stuffed! 7,490 HUF ($24.72) - Total price for everything
