The vibrant city is popular with its large and busy boulevards, remarkable architecture mixing different styles, rich historical and cultural life with the presence of many museums, churches and historical buildings. The city is dubbed Paris of the East or Little Paris. Here is also located the world's heaviest and second-largest administrative building ( after the Pentagon in USA ) - the Palace of the Parliament. You will also enjoy lively nightlife with many bars and restaurants.

One of Bucharest landmarks - Curtea Veche (Old Princeley Court)- an architectural site that used to be a palatial residence of Wallachian princes, was closed for restauration at the time of my visit - May, 2021.

4k Walking Tour of Bucharest Old City Center, Romania - Charming Old Town Tour

Welcome to Bucharest. In this 4k walking tour we are walking through the cobbled streets of the old city center of Bucharest, Romania.

The Historical Center of Bucharest, also called the Old Town by the locals, is one of the most sought-after and beautiful areas in Bucharest.

The buildings found throughout the old town were built in neoclassical and neo-baroque style, which gives this place a very special feel and vibe.
And, as expected, at the ground floor of many of these buildings you can find terraces, cafes, restaurants, and shops, where tourists and locals alike can enjoy a nice drink, fresh, delicious local food or can enjoy a shopping session.

You can walk into the Old Town from pretty much anywhere in central Bucharest, whether it's Calea Victoriei (Victoriei boulevard) or Unirii, . If you are coming from further away, you can always take the metro to either Piata Unirii (Unirii Square) or Universitate.

There are so many awesome bars and clubs in Bucharest Old Town. As soon as you enter the old town you are greeted by friendly people who welcome you to their restaurant.

Here you can enjoy a variety of restaurants and coffee shops, and lounges, especially better in warm weather at decent prices. During the night the whole place changes its vibe and music starts to play from everywhere. The pubs and clubs become very active and can offer you lots of fun. Whether you decide to stop at a club, or simply wander through the streets, the old city center of Bucharest is the perfect place to make beautiful memories.

I hope you enjoyed this walking tour of Bucharest's old town. It was recorded in 4K Ultra HD, at 60fps, for the best quality & smoothest watching experience. I hope it inspires you to travel to Romania and visit it soon.

Top 9 places to visit in BUCHAREST

In this video I will show you the top 9 places to visit in Bucharest! Bucharest is the capital of Romania and it offers a lot! In this Bucharest travel vlog will visit the Parlament of Bucharest, the Therme, the Atheneum and so much more! This city is a good choice to visit in 2022 and spend a few days to explore.

One Day in BUCHAREST | A Tour of ROMANIA’S CAPITAL CITY!

My first day exploring Romania’s capital city Bucharest where I took a walking tour and saw many of its top tourist attractions including the old town, University's Square & the giant Palace of Parliament.
???????? You can see all of my ROMANIA videos here →

As I was travelling solo in Bucharest I decided to join a free walking tour to get a good introduction to the city centre and help me to meet other like minded travellers from around the world. We visited some interesting places including the Piața Unirii Fountains, Stavropoleos Monastery Church, Macca Vilacrosse Passage, Saint Anthony Church, University Square and the massively impressive Palace of Parliament.

Bucharest is the largest city in Romania and the capital city of the country. After nearly a week of driving around the region on my incredible Romanian road trip it was great to finally be back where the trip started - and to be exploring Bucharest Romania!

I found Bucharest a really interesting city with very mixed neighbourhoods. There were modern skyscrapers, historic churches and halls, huge luxurious palaces built by former dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu and elaborate Parisian-style houses and streets. Bucharest is a melting pot of styles and influences for sure!

I also tell the remarkable story of Michael Jackson and the confusion that sometimes arises between Bucharest and Budapest - two similarly sounding cities that just so happen to be in different countries! Many have made the mistake of confusing one with the other but Michael Jackson’s example has become legendary!

Bucharest Old Town, Romania | Things to do, places to visit & travel guide

Hi everybody. On this episode I visit Bucharest Old Town which is historical part of the capital city of Romania.

00:14 What is Bucharest?
București or Bucharest is the capital and largest city of Romania. It is described as the cultural, financial, entertainment, and media center in Romania with a significant influence in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. It is also an influence in education, tourism, research, technology, health care, art, fashion, sports, and politics in Romania.

00:54 Where is the Bucharest?
It is located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the Dâmbovița River, less than 60 kilometers north of the Danube River and the Bulgarian border.

01:08 How to get to Bucharest?
The biggest airport in Romania and closest to Bucharest is Henri Coanda also known as Otopeni International Airport (OTP) and is located in the Northern part of the capital in the small town of Otopeni. That’s why the short name for the airport is Bucharest Otopeni. Bucharest Otopeni Airport is about 20 km away from the city centre Piata Universitatii and Old Town area. Depending on traffic rush and transportation option, the journey will take 30-60 min. There are 3 ways to get from Bucharest Airport to the city: Getting a taxi or an Uber, train or bus.

02:52 What is Bucharest famous for?
Bucharest was once known as Little Paris of the East because it was heavily influenced by French culture and architecture during the 19 to 20th centuries, much like the rest of Romania’s middle class living in the city of those times. The Parliament of Bucharest, also called the people’s house is not only the largest building in Europe, but second largest after the Penthagon.

03:39 What is there in Bucharest Old Town?
Because of influenced by French culture, when you come to Bucharest from the airport, you will most likely pass next to the Triumphal Arch. Standing out of the modern architecture, Stavropoleos Monastery Church hides inside of the Old Town of Bucharest. Beautifully restored 19th-century buildings with white stairs like a carousel is definitely one of the most stunning bookshops I have seen. Pasajul Victoriei in Bucharest's old-town boasts dozens of colorful umbrellas that transform this otherwise gritty alleyway into one of the city's unmissable spots among dedicated Instagrammers. The Linden Tree Inn is the only historic inn in Bucharest that has preserved its shape exactly as it was at its origins.

04:49 What to do in Bucharest?
Like many other European cities, the old town of Bucharest has quite a few churches. The old town of Bucharest is as mentioned, pretty small, however, there is a selection of old inns hidden in the old streets. Caru’ cu Bere is the oldest brewery in Bucharest and lies just a few steps away from the Stavropoleos Church. Cărturești Carusel has been pictured all over Instagram at the latest years or so and has been said to be one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world. The Macca Vilacrosse Passage, also located in the old Bucharest, right next to the National Bank.

06:39 What else to do around Bucharest?
From bucharest there are daily tour packages depending on your budget as group or private tours. Tour packages mostly include visiting Peles Castle, Bran Castle and Brasov Old Town. It takes 12 hours. Group tours starts from 35€ excluding entrance fees and lunch and private ones are around 250-300€ including entrance fees and lunch. Also you can visit one of the biggest Thermal Spa Complex in Europe called Therme Bucharest, which is 20 kilometers away from Bucharest.

07:59 Best time to visit Bucharest?
Weather in Bucharest is generally warm and pleasant. Like the rest of Romania, the climate is temperate-continental and all 4 seasons are still present. The best times to visit are during Spring between March and June and Autumn between September and October with averages of 15 - 25 Celsius, just perfect to enjoy the city. July-August can get pretty hot with 34 - 38 Celsius.

08:49 Is it worth visiting Bucharest?
Bucharest is worth visiting mainly if you want to have fun. Bucharest is one of the most lively cities in this part of Europe. Nightlife of this city is incredible, especially in weekends. Old Town is the center of this amazing nightlife. Except this, you can find beautiful Orthodox churches, art museums, buildings, historical inns, passages, streets and libraries to enjoy your day with photo shootings.

09:34 What to Eat in Bucharest?
So you might already have picked up on a few of the places you should definitely check out if you want to try Romanian food in Bucharest. In addition to the normal Ursus and chuck, Caru cu Bere has a lot of other interesting brews. Definitely try out some local snacks while there too. Mititei is ground beef with spices rolled up in small sausages. Manuc’s Inn, the oldest still-functioning inn and restaurant in town.

Bucharest was first mentioned in documents in 1459. It became the capital of Romania in 1862 and is the centre of Romanian media, culture, and art. Its architecture is a mix of historical (mostly Eclectic, but also Neoclassical and Art Nouveau), interbellum (Bauhaus, Art Deco and Romanian Revival architecture), socialist era and modern. In the period between the two World Wars, the city's elegant architecture and the sophistication of its elite earned Bucharest the nickname of 'Paris of the East' (Romanian: Parisul Estului) or 'Little Paris'. Although buildings and districts in the historic city centre were heavily damaged or destroyed by war, earthquakes, and even Nicolae Ceaușescu's program of systematization, many survived and have been renovated. In recent years, the city has been experiencing an economic and cultural boom. It is one of the fastest-growing high-tech cities in Europe, according to the Financial Times, CBRE, TechCrunch, and others. UiPath, a global startup founded in Bucharest, has reached over $35 billion in valuation. Since 2019, Bucharest hosts the largest high tech summit in Southeast Europe (Romania Blockchain Summit).
In 2016, the historical city centre was listed as 'endangered' by the World Monuments Watch. In 2017, Bucharest was the European city with the highest growth of tourists who stay over night, according to the Mastercard Global Index of Urban Destinations. As for the past two consecutive years, 2018 and 2019, Bucharest ranked as the European destination with the highest potential for development according to the same study.
According to the 2011 census, 1,883,425 inhabitants live within the city limits. Adding the satellite towns around the urban area, the proposed metropolitan area of Bucharest would have a population of 2.27 million people. In 2020, the government used 2.5 million people as the basis for pandemic reports. Bucharest is the fourth largest city in the European Union by population within city limits, after Berlin, Madrid, and Rome, just ahead of Paris.
Economically, Bucharest is the most prosperous city in Romania. The city has a number of large convention facilities, educational institutes, cultural venues, traditional 'shopping arcades' and recreational areas.
The Romanian name București has an unverified origin. Tradition connects the founding of Bucharest with the name of Bucur, who was a prince, an outlaw, a fisherman, a shepherd or a hunter, according to different legends. In Romanian, the word stem bucurie means 'joy' ('happiness'), and it is believed to be of Dacian origin, hence the city Bucharest means 'city of joy'.
Bucharest's crime rate is rather low in comparison to other European capital cities, with the number of total offences declining by 51% between 2000 and 2004, and by 7% between 2012 and 2013. The violent crime rate in Bucharest remains very low, with 11 murders and 983 other violent offences taking place in 2007. Although violent crimes fell by 13% in 2013 compared to 2012, 19 murders (18 of which the suspects were arrested) were recorded.
Although in the 2000s, a number of police crackdowns on organised crime gangs occurred, such as the Cămătaru clan, organised crime generally has little impact on public life. Petty crime, however, is more common, particularly in the form of pickpocketing, which occurs mainly on the city's public transport network. Confidence tricks were common in the 1990s, especially in regards to tourists, but the frequency of these incidents has since declined. However, in general, theft was reduced by 13.6% in 2013 compared to 2012. Levels of crime are higher in the southern districts of the city, particularly in Ferentari, a socially disadvantaged area.

Bucharest, Romania Walking Tour - (4K Ultra HD, 60fps) - Full City Tour

On this walking tour of Bucharest, Romania we visit Unirii Square with the beautiful Bucharest Fountains, The Palace of Parliament, the heaviest building in Europe. We walk on Calea Victoriei and see the beautiful Romanian Athenaeum, Revolution Square, and the Royal Palace of Bucharest. And we make sure to pass through the old city center and experience the old town during the daytime. And lots, lots more...

Bucharest is a European capital with lots of history, culture, and great overall ambiance. Busy capital, no doubt about it, but beautiful. It is also called the little Paris.

Walking in Bucharest gives you the opportunity to see lots of interesting buildings and landmarks that you just can't see anywhere else. And the old town attracts a lot of tourists, especially in the evening when that whole place comes to life.

Walking around Bucharest that day was no picnic. The virtual city tour is 1 hour long, but I started it at 11:45 and finished it at 4 pm. I had to take several breaks because my camera was overheating, and stopped recording. It was that hot.

I really hope you like this virtual walking tour of Bucharest.

Bucharest, in southern Romania, is the country's capital and commercial center. Its most iconic structure is the massive, communist-era Palatul Parlamentului government building, which has 1,100 rooms. Nearby, the historic Lipscani district is home to an energetic nightlife scene as well as tiny Eastern Orthodox Stavropoleos Church and 15th-century Curtea Veche palace, where Prince Vlad III (“The Impaler”) once ruled.

After arriving in Bucharest, we quickly realized there is so much more to this city than just the Old Town and City Center. By getting a bit off the beaten path and out of the touristy areas, we ended up stumbling upon many of our favorite places in the city! Did you know Romania has an amazing craft beer scene? In our vlog of Bucharest (Bucuresti), we take you to some of the top attractions as well as some of those places not often shown. We absolutely loved the charm of the old town, the kindness of all those we met, and all the amazing food.

If you have any questions, please comment below, we love staying in touch! Thanks for watching! Cheers ????

Bucharest city center, virtual tour2! The perfect guide for every tourist!

In this Video you will watch a virtual Tour of Bucharest's city center.
It is a perfect guide for every tourist that would like to move around Bucharest's down town by foot.
City center of Bucharest can be explored in just 2-3 days, and you can visit everything by just walking around. It can be useful not only by tourists, but even for the Romanians that don't live in Bucharest so they don't know the city so well, and they have to move around.
As a tourist, you can also get to know Bucharest so well before you even reach it.
Due to the covid situation, that is hard to travel abroad, we thought that it would be beautiful at least to be able to visit Bucharest as a virtual tour.

The starting point of the Tour is the central square of Bucharest (Piata Uniri), which exists also Metro and you can move around.
The main monument of this Video is the enormous Parliament Palace, and how to get there.
