I finally made it to Brunei guys! The country of Brunei was never on my list of traveling destinations. Though some how I made my way here and what an experience it was! Many people say there is not much to do in Brunei and it is not worth the visit, but I completely disagree! Brunei is a very interesting country with a lot to offer. The people of Brunei are some of the most welcoming and friendly people I have ever met. This is the first video of a two part series of my time in Brunei. I'm so excited to share these unique and fascinating experiences with you all!

During our short visit to Brunei, we managed to visit most of the country's sights. From the Royal Regalia Museum and the water village Kampong Ayer to the Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, the Royal Palace, and the mangrove rainforest to see the famous proboscis monkeys.

After 10 years, I have returned to the country that I enjoyed THE LEAST in all of my travels… Brunei. It’s a tiny country on Borneo island, sandwiched in between Malaysia and Indonesia, and I was very nervous to go back. Why? Because my last video there was all about how much I hated it, and I was so worried that I would be thrown in jail by the government, or even yelled at by the locals…. But this time around, I went in with fresh eyes and a new perspective, and I really enjoyed it!!!

We are starting off our Brunei adventure from the western most city of Kuala Belait, which is very close to the border between Brunei and Malaysia. In fact its only 15 kms to the border and less than 45 min to Miri in Malaysia! Kuala Belait is a small city but very beautiful and peaceful. Many expats who work with Brunei Shell Petroleum and the offshore platforms for oil extraction, live here. We took a walk in the town centre (at Jalan Pretty) and also visited the Menara Cendera Kenangan which is a unique tower commemorating the 50th birthday of the Sultan of Brunei (Hassanlal Bolkiah).

Hey everyone! Welcome to our latest video where we take you on an exciting/scary trip to Brunei. This place has been in the news a lot, and we wanted to see what it's really like beyond what everyone talks about. So, we kicked off our adventure wanting to dive into the real Brunei - from its strict laws to its incredible wealth. It's a country that's caught between its rich traditions and some pretty tough rules. But what really blew us away was how friendly and welcoming the people are.
We got to check out the Sultan's massive palace, which is just mind-blowing with all its luxury. But it's not all about the glitz here; we also saw how the country takes care of its people, with free schooling and healthcare, which is pretty awesome. Our journey took us through bustling markets where everything's super cheap, beautiful mosques covered in gold, and even into the lives of the locals who invited us to share a meal with them. It was these moments that really made our trip special.
We also got a peek into the less flashy side of Brunei, visiting a water village and seeing how people live in houses on stilts right over the water. It felt like stepping into a whole different world. This video is all about showing you the real Brunei - from the fancy bits to the simple, everyday life of its people. We're here to share our experiences, the cool places we've seen, the delicious food we've tried, and the amazing people we've met along the way.

Arriving In Brunei ????????Day 1
We flew from Kuching to Miri and in Miri we got a bus to Brunei.
From Miri to the border with Brunei it's about 30min and then from there to the capital will be roughly 4 hours by bus.
We wanted to stop 50km before the capital but the bus driver forgot about us and drove us to the capital instead.
