Standing Next To The Runway British Airways Landor 747 landing! G-BNLY

#britishairways #plane #747

Standing next to the runway for a 747 landing is special.

Standing there watching British Airways
G-BNLY Landor land for the last time was emotional.

So graceful and elegant, consigned to the history books.

Always Queen of the skies.

British Airways Boeing 747-436 (Landor Retro!) | Miami to London Heathrow *Full Flight*

This video is property of Train_PlaneHub

2160p 4K HD!

On my way home from Miami and by complete luck and coincidence I was treated to a ride on one of BA's retrojets! This was the beautiful Landor liveried 747 G-BNLY.

Although the nice paint job on the outside the interior was still the same. She was still a bit of an old girl. I was however fortunate enough to be sat in Club World and had seat 17K which gave me a great view of the roll royce engines!
Departure unfortunately was in the dark, however still some incredible views of the city skyline as we climb out of MIA's RWY08R towards the Atlantic. Not to mention the sound of the RB211's!
Once airborne I opted out of the evening meal and decided to get some sleep. Fully reclined into the flatbed position I got some shut eye. Keeping a watchful eye for sunrise under the window blind. Once the sun was up I had a light breakfast before descent into Heathrow. We entered a hold before approach which allowed from a pretty good air 2 air shot of a TAP A330 which was also doing loops with us. Once out of the hold we took the stunning approach over the city of London towards Heathrows RWY27L. Call me bias but honestly one of my favourite approaches in the world into my home city. Look out for all the landmarks.

As always by *Full Flight* I don't mean literally the entire 9 hour flight. It was hard enough saving and putting together this 56 minute long video. I mean the video includes every stage of the flight from boarding until disembarkation.

Check out the spotting video taken in Miami this day!:

Thanks again for watching, hope you enjoyed this video!

The Last British Airways B747 Flight - An Emotional Farewell

I travelled to the UK to see the Final British Airways 747 flight and landing. During this trip, I was able to see all 3 British Airways 747 Retro Liveries across the countryside in England and Wales.

My first stop was Dunsfold Aerodrome, where I visited the Landor livery 747. I was able to go inside and take a last look at the cabin and the cockpit. Then I drove to Cotswold Airport to see the Negus livery 747. Cotswold Airport CEO Suzannah Harvey personally gave me a tour, explaining the work being done to save the 747.

My last stop was in Cardiff, Wales where the BOAC livery 747 flew out from Cardiff to St Athan; it was only a short ferry flight but it was a very emotional one nonetheless, as this was the final BA 747 flight. I was at St Athan to watch the Final BA 747 landing. It was a momentous landing with a quick stop on the short runway. After landing, I went inside the 747 to interview the pilots and witness the final power down of the 747. It was the end of an era for the British Airways 747.

All 3 BA retro 747 liveries (Landor, Negus and BOAC) will be preserved in the UK.

Thanks to British Airways and SpeedBird TV for sharing some great footage:

British Airways Landor Retro Livery Boeing 747 (New York JFK - London Heathrow)

A flight from New York JFK to London Heathrow (JFK - LHR) in economy class on a British Airways Boeing 747-400 (B744) in the Landor retro livery. Apologies for the poor audio and video quality throughout the video. This is not a Trip Report but just a compilation of footage that I recorded on the day. I hope you enjoy it! Disappointed about the old interior, would have thought the special livery aircraft would have the refurbished interiors. Normal Trip Reports will resume when COVID-19 has subsided and I can take my upcoming trips.

British Airways - Landor 747 Arrival

Watch our Landor 747 arrive home at Heathrow Airport.

BA Landor 747. The FIRST & LAST flights. 1st Landor pax flight 9.3.19. Last landing- Dunsfold.

It seems like another lifetime ago when British Airways announced as part of their BA100 celebrations, that 4 aircraft would be re-painted in historic retro liveries belonging to their predecessor airlines.
The first aircraft to be rolled out in historic colours was BA 747, G-BYGC in the BOAC retro livery and I was lucky enough to film the first passenger departure of this aircraft back in 19th February 2019 as G-BYGC took the BA 117 morning New York service from Heathrow's Runway 27 Left. See

The BEA retro Airbus A319 G-EUPJ followed, entering passenger service in the new colours on 4th March 2019 and I first filmed this on the Saturday 9th March - see

The third retro scheme to come out was the Landor livery, which was applied to one of BA's older 747s, G-BNLY - which ironically was first delivered to BA in the same Landor livery back in 1993!
This YouTube film is taken on the first day the newly Landor painted G-BNLY entered back into passenger service on Saturday 9th March 2019, departing with the BA 211 service to Miami, scheduled to leave at 16.05. The aircraft was late being towed from the Maintenance area to the passenger terminals, so as a result the flight was an hour and a half late leaving; with the daylight fading fast by the time the aircraft was lined up on 27R.
My friend and fellow spotter James Botting (James Botting's Airliner videos) was also filming and very kindly agreed to share his material for part of the takeoff run for this film - as my camera froze at the critical part just as LY was accelerating towards us for takeoff..Big thank you again to James.

And then fast forward by 21 months - with COVID ravaging the aviation industry and the complete retirement of the BA 747 fleet, we see the LAST flight ever for G-BNLY, as she makes her final landing at Dunsfold Aerodrome on Saturday 5th December 2020...who could have known how this would have ended back in March 2019?

Fortunately the Landor 747 (as well as Negus G-CIVB and BOAC G-BYGC) live on, now preserved - more of this to follow!

British Airways brings back the LANDOR Livery

This past Saturday March 9th JustPlanes was live at London Heathrow Airport to capture the return of the British Airways Landor livery. The 1980-90 livery was painted on Boeing 747-400 with registration G-BNLY which is seen at the start of this video arriving from Dublin where it was painted.

The rest of the video are memories from 20-25 years ago from Landor livery aircraft around the world...

British Airways 747-400 'Landor Retro Livery' Landing at London Heathrow

One of the last British Airways 747's I captured at the end of 2019, not long before their retirement. I was lucky enough to capture all 3 of the special retro liveries on the British Airways 747 aircraft, which were the BOAC, Negus and the Landor 747-400. They were painted to celebrate 100 years of British Airways. Here is G-BNLY landing at London Heathrow on a cloudy afternoon in October 2019. She was unfortunately retired from service with all the other BA 747's in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She was thankfully saved from scrap and sent to Dunsfold Aerodrome and since thas been safely preserved.

LANDOR FINAL FLIGHT & WALK AROUND | G-BNLY British Airways Boeing 747 plane to Dunsfold | AVGeek

#Landor #QOTS #BritishAirways
Hello. I am Evie Lawson, a female aviation enthusiast. Welcome to my Youtube channel. I was lucky enough to be invited to Dunsfold to see Landor fly home.

I filmed her landing, and then walked around the tail and underneath the wings to show the engines.

On 5th December 2020 I was lucky enough to be invited to Dunsfold along with Speedbird TV to see Landor - a British Airways 747- land at her final home where she is being preserved.

Last year, to mark their 100 year birthday, British Airways painted 4 planes in retro liveries. BOAC, Negus and Landor are all Jumbos (747-400) and the BEA Retro jet is an A319.

Because of the pandemic, many planes around the world are being retired early and scrapped or sold to other airlines, some for cargo.

This particular plane G-BNLY, with the Landor livery, brought me home in 2018 from Dallas, and I haven't been on a plane since. So it felt particularly poignant for me to be here for her last journey home. I had a very cold and wonderful day!

Thank you Dunsfold, and Speedbird TV for an amazing experience.

Here is a shorter, more emotional version of this video:

BRITISH AIRWAYS 747 LANDOR | moments after landing walk around

TOUR INSIDE THE AIRCRAFT:

Footage I took moments after British Airways Boeing 747-400 Landor G-BNLY landed at Dunsfold Aerodrome.

It was a freezing cold December day and my phone decided to turn off every ten seconds. Here is the footage I have managed to put together.

This is my favourite aircraft, both to look at and to fly on. This particular aircraft was also my last 747 flight (DFW-LHR) in 2018.

If I had known then I would never fly on another 747 I would have taken some videos.

You can’t not love the Queen of the Skies!

British Airways Boeing 747-400 Negus Retro Livery Delivery: BACK TO THE 80S!

I was very lucky to be invited to welcome the final British Airways Boeing 747-400 to be painted in a retro livery - G-CIVB which wears the British Airways Negus retro livery from the early 1980s!

British Airways Landor 747

G-BNLY at Dunsfold Aerodrome

BA Landor 747 is saved! Final flight into Dunsfold. G-BNLY. 5 December 2020. #747 #qots #landor

Runway Centre Line viewpoint. Saturday 5th December 2020. Earlier this week and building on the success of the #SaveLandor campaign; British Airways officially announced that the Landor livery747, G-BNLY would be preserved at Dunsfold Aerodrome, the home of fellow 747 G-CIVW which flew here on 22nd October 2020. (See film on my channel).
Today G-BNLY left Cardiff airport where it has been in store since June and took the 40 minute flight to Dunsfold as flight BA 9154. The aircraft flew around the airport before making the approach and landing into the prevailing wind, landing on Runway 07. I've captured these moments in this film standing at the dead centreline viewpoint from Runway 07/25.
This aircraft began life in the Landor scheme, so it is especially fitting that it should have been preserved, representing perhaps the finest period in BAs aviation history:- The world's favourite airline.
At the end we hear Dunsfold Tower welcoming the crew and giving a fitting testimony to this beautiful aircraft. Enjoy this short film capturing this historic occasion.
