GHANA'S LONGEST SUSPENSION BRIDGE - ADOMI BRIDGE | AERIAL TOUR

The Adomi Bridge (originally the Volta Bridge) is a latticed steel arch suspension bridge crossing the Volta River at Atimpoku in Ghana in West Africa. It is the first permanent bridge to span the Volta River, which drains south into the Gulf of Guinea and is Ghana's longest suspension bridge. It provides the main road passage, just south of the Akosombo Dam, between the Eastern Region and the Volta Region of Ghana. It was opened in 1957 by Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's first president. The iconic crescent-shaped arch bridge is featured in Ghanaian stamps and currency.

New Orleans 4K - World's Longest Bridge - Lake Pontchartrain Causeway

9,500 concrete pilings, 5 ft wide each, across 24 miles of water! This is a little different from my driving in cities content but I couldn't resist publishing this video. I'd like to experiment with more infrastructure related videos. Let me know in the comments if you like it!
The Lake Pontchartrain Causeway is a fixed link composed of two parallel bridges crossing Lake Pontchartrain in southern Louisiana, United States. The longer of the two bridges is 23.83 miles (38.35 km) long. The bridges are supported by 9,500 concrete pilings. The two bridges feature a bascule, which spans the navigation channel 8 miles (13 km) south of the north shore.

Since 1969, it was listed by Guinness World Records as the longest bridge over water in the world; in 2011, in response to the opening of the longer Jiaozhou Bay Bridge in China, Guinness World Records created two categories for bridges over water: continuous and aggregate lengths over water. Lake Pontchartrain Causeway then became the longest bridge over water (continuous) while Jiaozhou Bay Bridge the longest bridge over water (aggregate).

New Orleans is the largest city located in the Gulf Coast region of the southern United States. New Orleans is world-renowned for its french style, distinct music, Creole cuisine, unique dialect, and its annual celebrations and festivals, most notably Mardi Gras. The historic heart of the city is the French Quarter, known for its French and Spanish Creole architecture and vibrant nightlife along Bourbon Street. The city has been described as the most unique in the United States, owing in large part to its cross-cultural and multilingual heritage.

Tourism
New Orleans has many visitor attractions, from the world-renowned French Quarter to St. Charles Avenue, (home of Tulane and Loyola Universities, the historic Pontchartrain Hotel and many 19th-century mansions) to Magazine Street with its boutique stores and antique shops.

According to current travel guides, New Orleans is one of the top ten most-visited cities in the United States; 10.1 million visitors came to New Orleans in 2004.

A 2009 Travel + Leisure poll of America's Favorite Cities ranked New Orleans first in ten categories, the most first-place rankings of the 30 cities included. According to the poll, New Orleans was the best U.S. city as a spring break destination and for wild weekends, stylish boutique hotels, cocktail hours, singles/bar scenes, live music/concerts and bands, antique and vintage shops, cafés/coffee bars, neighborhood restaurants, and people watching.

The French Quarter (known locally as the Quarter or Vieux Carré) contains popular hotels, bars and nightclubs. Notable tourist attractions in the Quarter include Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, the French Market (including Café du Monde, famous for café au lait and beignets) and Preservation Hall.

Founded in 1718 by the French, New Orleans was once the territorial capital of French Louisiana before being traded to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. New Orleans in 1840 was the third-most populous city in the United States. The city's location and flat elevation have historically made it very vulnerable to flooding. State and federal authorities have installed a complex system of levees and drainage pumps in an effort to protect the city.

Dubai to India by road ???? Overland route map

How to travel from Middle East to India overland? I always had this question in my mind since I started working in Oman. After months of planning, researching and dreaming, I finally hit the road from Gulf all the way back to Kerala, India by road. Though the idea was to completely go by road, I actually used every mode of transportation from flights, trains, boats to cycles !! I even walked countless miles for getting out of the cities to hitchhike. This is the road map of my GCC to India by road journey which took 190 days to cover 22,000 kms through 10 countries.

Longest Sea Bridge in the middle east | Bahrain Bridge | Saudi Arabia #shorts #bridge

The Bahrain Bridge, often referred to as the King Fahd Causeway, is a remarkable engineering marvel that connects the Kingdom of Bahrain to the eastern region of Saudi Arabia. Stretching approximately 25 kilometers (about 16 miles), this awe-inspiring bridge stands as a symbol of progress and connectivity in the Arabian Gulf.

Completed in 1986, the Bahrain Bridge is a testament to modern engineering and international cooperation. Its construction involved extensive planning and coordination, as it spans the challenging waters of the Gulf, linking the islands of Bahrain to the Saudi mainland. The bridge not only facilitates the movement of people but also serves as a vital trade route, enhancing economic ties between the two nations.

Travelers crossing the Bahrain Bridge are treated to breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding landscapes. The structure accommodates a mix of roadways and railways, making it a multifunctional lifeline for both countries. With its significant role in connecting nations and fostering economic growth, the Bahrain Bridge remains an iconic infrastructure project in the Arabian Peninsula, exemplifying the power of innovation and cooperation.

#100 Corinth Canal bridges walk and views from both sides in Corinth, Greece

The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island. The canal was dug through the isthmus at sea level and has no locks. It is 6.4 kilometres in length and only 21.4 metres wide at its base, making it impassable for many modern ships. It has little economic importance and is mainly a tourist attraction.

The canal was initially proposed in classical times and a failed effort was made to build it in the 1st century AD. Construction recommenced in 1881 but was hampered by geological and financial problems that bankrupted the original builders. It was completed in 1893, but, due to the canal's narrowness, navigational problems, and periodic closures to repair landslides from its steep walls, it failed to attract the level of traffic expected by its operators.

GREECE: Unique submersible bridge crosses the scenic CORINTH CANAL #travel #greece

Corinth Canal, Greece - unique submersible bridge at the Corinth Canal in Greece. Let's go to Greece and let's view the historic Corinth Canal which is a canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. Corinth Canal cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, thus effectively making the former peninsula an island. The builders dug Corinth Canal through the Isthmus at sea level; no locks are employed. Corinth Canal is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base, making it impassable for most modern ships.
