We didn't know what to expect from Malaysian Borneo, but for sure we didn't know it would be like this! Kota Kinabalu was a surprise. It's hard to explain this place, but you'll see exactly what we mean after watching the video.

★ MORE INFO ABOUT THE FOUR-ISLAND TOUR:
1. What we did: we went to the Sutera Marina and basically talked to the only operator in the marina. They have all the tours and prices displayed, and even though it was slightly more expensive than other options, it was pretty painless and we had a great experience! We recommend this option :)
2. Another option (this was plan B for us): Go to Jesselton Point Jetty and try to negotiate a price. It will be cheaper than what we paid ($15 p/p), but there will be A LOT of different operators to choose from. This info was shared to us by a local and also from the guy at the beginning of the video.
In the end, we decided it was ok to pay a higher price because we were already there and it was the right choice for us :) but there are other options.

Borneo is a destination renowned among nature lovers for its flora and fauna, and ultimately for its bird life. With a vast array of habitats with their own specialized birds, It is a haven for birding enthusiasts. In Borneo, a total of 688 resident and migratory species of bird, with 60 species endemic to Borneo and 33 are montane species. Mount Kinabalu is regarded as a distribution centre for Borneo’s montane birds. Among the most sought after endemic species are the Whitehead’s Trogon and Whitehead’s Broadbill, the Blue-headed Pitta and the vividly coloured Blue-banded Pitta, the large and distinctly coloured Bornean Ground Cuckoo, the rare and ungainly Bornean Bristlehead, as well as the Golden-naped Barbet with its signature trilling call.See photo essay here:

The Borneo Expedition Showreel
The Borneo Expedition is a 4WD adventure travel series to explore popular and remote destinations within the island of Borneo and beyond.
Each expedition will unveil the exhilaration of discovering new destinations with breath-taking geological, ecological, cultural and historical features to awaken the spirit of travel and adventure in you.
This project plans to make a total of 10 expeditions over a period of 5 years within the BIMP EAGA Region to discover overland routes circumventing the island of Borneo covering Sabah, Sarawak, Labuan, Brunei and Kalimantan and also using ferry to cross to Palawan Island of the Philippines, Sulawesi, Java and Bali Island of Indonesia.
Details of each expedition, from its beautiful landscapes to points of interest, support services and route maps, will be made available through video documentaries, the internet and other promotional tools to encourage overland and cross border tourism to the BIMP EAGA region.
