We had an amazing time exploring the island of Bonaire. This is my Bonaire Travel Guide where I've highlighted some of the great things to see and do in Bonaire. I hope this guide to Bonaire can be helpful if you're planning your own trip to the island.

BONAIRE Travel Guide! ???????? (30 BEST things to do, cost, & more - our vlog)
This is BONAIRE, a hidden gem in the Caribbean known for its incredible diving! We've spent 10 weeks on the island so in this vlog we're going to show you around the island, some of the best things to do on Bonaire (for non scuba divers!), share some important information, and cover the prices to expect! We also have some friends visiting on this trip so it will be double the fun! :)
In today's video we visit:
1. Flamingo International Airport - we make a quick stop here to show you transit options and what to expect at the airport!
2. 1000 Steps - probably the most popular snorkel & dive location on the island!
3. Bonaire's Caves - Bonaire has a few cave systems, there are tours available but we show you a free and easy caving location!
4. Karpata Dive Site - Another favorite dive site, we think it has some of the healthiest coral left on the island! Only downside is it is down a long one-way road!
5. Landhuis Karpata - right by the Karpata dive site, it is an abandoned historic plantation!
6. Goto Lake Overlook - Frequently has wild flamingos and there are a few hiking trails nearby (marked by light pink and blue stones on the side of the road.) In the distance is Washington Slagbaii National Park, which we have yet to visit because you need have a 4x4 vehicle.
7. Donkey Sanctuary Bonaire - a wild donkey rescue and top activity!
8. Panorama Rincon - a quick & quiet pull of with a great view over Rincon!
9. Rincon - the cultural center of Bonaire!
10. the Cadushy Distillery - a distillery known for making liqueurs with local ingredients.
11. Posada Para Mira - a restaurant that serves Bonairian Cuisine!
12. Andrea 1 - another popular dive site near town, a relatively shallow area with an easy entry/exit.
13. Andrea 2 - basically just like Andrea 1, but further down the coast!
14. Weber's Joy (AKA Witches Hut) - another popular dive site near town with a small house in ruin - known as Witch's hut!
15. Klein Bonaire - A tiny island off the island of Bonaire. The entirety of Klein Bonaire is a Marine Protected Area, so there is some really excellent reef!
16. Kralendijk - the capital and heart of Bonaire! This is where you can find businesses, shopping, restaurants, souvenirs, and more!
17. Snorkeling in Kralndijk - Kralendijk is located right on the water and is a area that is relatively protected from rough waves so the ocean remains clear! So it is yet another great option for diving!
18. Seru Largu - this is a monument lcoated at the hill top and is a great location for sunset! There are also a few short hiking trails nearby!
19. Suriname food - a must try while in the Netherlands or the Dutch Caribbean is Surinamese food!
20. Willemstoren Lighthouse - a lighthouse that marks the wild southern tip of the island.
21. Flamingo sanctuary - an area on the salt pans that must be enjoyed from afar but there are TONS of wild flamingos to spot!
22. Bonaire Salt Pans - One of Bonaire's main exports is salt! See how they make it and the stunning pink water!
23. Kiteboarding Bonaire - a popular destination for wind surfing
23. Salt Pyramids - another part of the salt pans with massive piles of salt. A neat stop!
24. Slave Huts & Obelisks (white)- a historic site on Bonaire that reminds us of the time slavery existed and the conditions the people lived in.

25. Salt Pier - one of the most popular dive sites, deeper and tends to get larger animals.
26. Tori's Reef - another southern dive site
27. Mangrove Kayaking & Snorkel - awesome tour of the mangroves and the opportunity to swim in them!
28. Lac Cai - a beautiful bay with shallow water
29. Conch Graveyard - located at lac cai, a bit of a sad sight that reminds us of the need to protect our oceans!
30. 1000 Steps overlook - a great photo spot with a trail to 1000 steps!

WOW! ONLY $25 EXCURSION! Found the CHEAPEST (and INCREDIBLE) Resort Day Pass in Bonaire!!!
We are at the last of the ABC Islands... Bonaire. We had no idea what we wanted to do in this port... we just knew we wanted a beach and snorkeling... So we walked off the ship with no booked excursion and no plans! Right outside of the ship was an information booth with maps of the island so we went and asked for a suggestion. The very nice lady told us that there was a new resort that had recently opened and were offering day passes for $25 so that sounded good to us.
A quick taxi ride and we arrived at Chogogo... WOW! We were blown away! This resort was amazing!! The sea was beautiful, with great snorkeling, but there was also a pool and even a lazy river around the resort! It wasn't busy and even though we arrived not first thing in the morning, we were able to get a great palapa which gave us comfortable shade.
Needless to say, this was an incredible day!!

Bonaire Island Tour | Royal Caribbean Bonaire | What to do in Bonaire
We did the Best of Bonaire shore excursion with Royal Caribbean and Freedom of the Seas that took us on an island tour.
Highlights include:
- scenic drive to the south side of the island
- Salt Flats
- Historic Homes of the Salt Flat workers (Slave Huts as locally referred to)
- Lac Bay
Our tour guide was very informative and commentated the entire drive. We began the tour with a scenic drive from the cruise terminal and heard about the history of the island including the salt industry. We stopped to see some of the salt flats where the salt continues to be produced to this day. Our next stop was at the historic homes of the salt workers - and a view into slavery on the island to support this industry. We ended our tour at Lac Bay, a spot popular with windsurfers and swimmers for the calm waters, but strong breeze.
Following the tour we were dropped off at the cruise port and then went exploring Kralendijk, Bonaire.

Think pink on this leisurely, commentated drive on the lookout for Bonaire's famous flamingos. Travel through the countryside to the southeast's lush mangrove forests, stopping for a refreshment break at the spectacular bay where you can dip your feet in the turquoise waters. At the salt flats of Pekelmeer (Pink Lake), shrimp-filled pools attract flocks of flamingos. Touch history inside the crude huts that sheltered the 19th century slaves who worked and harvested salt here.
