Sajama National Park is located in the Oruro Department, Bolivia. It borders Lauca National Park in Chile.
The park lies within the Central Andean dry puna ecoregion.It features a spectacular Andean landscape, with elevations ranging from 4,200 to 6,542 metres (13,800 to 21,463) Important volcanic cones, like Mount Sajama and the Payachatas are located in the park, together with several lagoons and high lying Andean marshes, where hardy and silicified grasses and a variety of rosette-shaped plants are to be found.

Situated just 10km from downtown La Paz, the Valley of the Moon feels like another universe compared to Bolivia's busy capital. Visiting the valley was one of the coolest experience of our time in Bolivia and we are super excited to share the footage of this unique attraction with you in this video.
The valley is not really a valley but an area where erosion has destroyed the majority of a clay mountain, leaving behind tall spires. The different sides of the mountain are different colors, creating crazy optical illusions on the spires.

We took local transportation, ate Streetfood and visited local markets to get a real feeling for La Paz. It is one of these off the beaten path things you should do on your travels to experience a place off from the touristy things.
Moreover I was invited to do some rappel action in the middle of the center of La Paz: it is called Urban Rush and awaits you with a thrilling free fall after walking down a 50m Skyscraper - face first.

La Paz - Guaqui by train (Bolivia)
We ride the train from La Pas Alto to the lakeside port of Guaqui in Bolivia on the edge of Lake Titicaca. Here we meet the twice weekly train ferry from Puno carrying grain. The journey is across barren and sparely populated land up on the Altiplano.
At 12,600 feet above sea level, the inlet of Lake Titicaca is magnificent with wildlife and reed beds.
Sadly, the ferry from Puno no longer operates as traffic is sent by road directly to La Paz, so this line is now without a service.

Bolivia
Bolivia,is a landlocked country in central South America. It is bordered by Brazil to the north and east, Paraguay and Argentina to the south, and Chile and Peru to the west.
Prior to European colonization, the Bolivian territory was a part of the Inca Empire, which was the largest state in Pre-Columbian America. The Spanish Empire conquered the region in the 16th century. During most of the Spanish colonial period, this territory was called Upper Peru or Charcas and was under the administration of the Viceroyalty of Peru, which included most of Spain's South American colonies. After declaring independence in 1809, 16 years of war followed before the establishment of the republic, named for Simón Bolívar, on August 6, 1825. Bolivia has struggled through periods of political instability, dictatorships and economic woes.
Bolivia is a democratic republic, divided into nine departments. Its geography is varied from the peaks of the Andes in the west, to the eastern lowlands, situated within the Amazon Basin. It is a developing country, with a medium Human Development Index score, and a poverty level around 60%. Its main economic activities include agriculture, forestry, and fishing, mining and manufacturing goods such as textiles, clothing, refined metals, and refined petroleum. Bolivia is very wealthy in minerals especially tin.
The Bolivian population, estimated at 9 million, is multiethnic, including Amerindians, Mestizos, Europeans, Asians and Africans. The main language spoken is Spanish, although the Aymara and Quechua languages are also common. The large number of different cultures within Bolivia has contributed greatly to a wide diversity in fields such as art, cuisine, literature, and music. ( source Wikipedia )

The public transport system of La Paz includes a modern funicular system as well as medieval buses. The give an excellent impression of the town.

La Paz (Official Name: Nuestra Señora de La Paz) is the administrative capital of Bolivia, as well as the departmental capital of La Paz Department. Located at an elevation of 3,660 metres (12,008 ft), it is the world's highest capital city. La Paz sits in a bowl surrounded by the high altiplano. As it grows, La Paz climbs the hills, resulting in varying elevations from 3,000 metres (9,843 ft) to 4,100 metres (13,451 ft). Overlooking the city is towering triple-peaked Illimani, always snow covered and majestic. As of the 2001 census, the city of La Paz had a population of 789,585, and together with the neighboring cities of El Alto and Viacha, make the most populous urban area of Bolivia, with a population of over 1.6 million inhabitants (Instituto Nacional de Estadistica). La Paz is also known as Chuquiago Marka or Chuqiyapu from Aymara chuqi, meaning gold, and yapu, meaning farm.

CUZCO SPREADS: out for miles in typically ugly Peruvian fashion - concrete and brown. The child seated behind Adam kicks the back of his chair relentlessly as we rumble slowly through the outskirts of town, despite several librarian-level glares. But eventually the buildings give way to vast flat deserts, straight roads stretching to the horizon. It's an emptiness of landscape that enthralls us after many days of hills and ruins; an absence of sights comes as a relief.
