ONE DAY in BOGOTA- What to see / What to do/ Where to eat/ Where to stay

If you're visiting Bogota but are short on time and have a day or less to see the city - this is the vlog for you! I guide you through the main sights that I believe should make it into your itinerary for a day in Bogota and obviously what to do, where to stay, where to eat etc.
Obviously, this is a huge city with SO much to do and I am aware of the attractions that I didn't cover, but once again - this is how I believe a day here should be spent without rushing around between activities or having to take multiple taxis. If you liked this 'One Day In Bogota' quick trip vlog, please remember to like / comment/ subscribe!

Notes:
I got here by plane and a vaccine is still required, so make sure you have that before entering Colombia.
The local currency is the Colombian peso, the exchange rate with the US Dollar is currently 4700.
The weather here is more fresh, cloudy and cool than in other Colombian cities because of its high altitude so remember to bring a jacket.
It's safe in the central area but you still need to be vigilant and try not to walk around alone / at night in less touristy zones.

Why You Should Visit BOGOTA COLOMBIA (Way BETTER Than We Expected!)

Here's why you should visit Bogota, Colombia's colorful capital city! It was way better than we expected!

Bogota is one of those cities that gets a bit of a bad reputation and many travelers will merely pass through the airport or bus terminals on their way to some of Colombia's more touristy destinations like Cartagena or Medellin.

But if you do choose to stick around in Colombia's capital you'll be rewarded with some really great experiences! We spent one week living in Bogota and definitely recommend allowing at least a few days to get to know the city during your Colombia trip!

Bogota Travel Guide - Best Places to Visit and Things to do in Bogota Colombia

Bogota Travel Guide - Best Places to Visit and Things to do in Bogota Colombia

Bogotá is Colombia’s sprawling, high-altitude capital. La Candelaria, its cobblestoned center, features colonial-era landmarks like the neoclassical performance hall Teatro Colón and the 17th-century Iglesia de San Francisco. It's also home to popular museums including the Museo Botero, showcasing Fernando Botero's art, and the Museo del Oro, displaying pre-Columbian gold pieces.

Colombia is a country mostly in South America with insular regions in North America. The Colombian mainland is bordered by the Caribbean Sea to the north, Venezuela to the east and northeast, Brazil to the southeast, Ecuador and Peru to the south and southwest, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and Panama to the northwest. Colombia is divided into 32 departments. The Capital District of Bogotá is also the country's largest city hosting the main financial and cultural hub. Other major urbes include Medellín, Cali, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Cúcuta, Ibagué, Villavicencio and Bucaramanga. It covers an area of 1,141,748 square kilometers (440,831 sq mi) and has a population of around 52 million. Its rich cultural heritage—including language, religion, cuisine, and art—reflects its history as a colony, fusing cultural elements brought by immigration from Europe and the Middle East, with those brought by the African diaspora, as well as with those of the various Indigenous civilizations that predate colonization. Spanish is the official language, although Creole English and 64 other languages are recognized regionally.

Exploring BOGOTA COLOMBIA in 24 HOURS (Travel Guide) EP.1

INSIDE one of the world's megadiverse countries. Colombia is well known for its biodiversity (amazon rainforest, highlands, grasslands, and deserts), history and culture, food, and dance (salsa!). In this series, you will also learn about Colombia's long intense armed conflict, political violence, and history.

In today's video. I will be taking you on a journey through ALL of BOGOTA COLOMBIA in 24 hours (Paloquemao fruit market, Puerta Falsa, Plaza de Bolivar, National Palace, Cerro Monserrate, and more!). From the US, we took a 5 hour flight to Bogota. After arriving, we quickly immersed ourselves in Bogota's busy city center tasting local fruits and traditional Colombian foods. On the way, we learned about how to travel easily throughout the city and what not to do in Colombia, tasted an aromatic tea filled with rum, and ATE some BIG ASS ANTs. Afterwards, we walked Bogota at night and shopped at the local artesian markets. Join us as we explore one of the most vibrant countries in the world, taste traditional Colombian food, and take a cable car up the mountain to the highest point in Bogota!
