Exclusive: Inside The Experimental Boeing 777X

While at Dubai Airshow 2021 I visited the Boeing 777X. This is the first time Boeing has allowed visitors to get onboard the airplane! Let’s find out what the inside of the 777X is like?

It is an experimental airplane, with no fancy interiors but a lot of workstations, terminals and water barrel tanks. I spoke with Boeing’s test engineers, pilots and commercial staff on the 777X testing and certification program. Check out the cockpit, folding wingtip, engine and test instruments inside the aircraft. Boeing expects the B777X to complete certification in 2023.

Enjoy the flying display of the B777X at the Dubai Airshow.

Why The Boeing 777X Is The Perfect 747 Replacement

As the world holds its breath in collective anticipation of the Boeing 777X’s entry into service, we are reminded that the industry is also saying goodbye to the Queen of the Skies, the Boeing 747. The 777 series will soon become Boeing’s largest commercial aircraft in production. But how does it compare to the older 747?

Boeing 777X - What's the Difference?

I was in the Boeing Everett Factory waiting for the Boeing 777-9 first take-off. However, due to strong wind and inclement weather, the first flight was to be postponed by 2 days.

The Boeing 777-9, registration N779XW, finally took off on 25th January 2020 at 10:09, under the command of Captain Van Chaney. It flew in the air for 3 hours and 51 minutes before returning to land at Boeing Field at 14:00.

This video shares with you all the things you need to know about the B777x. The orders from the nine customers around the world, the specifics, the cockpit, the cabin design and the test record of the Boeing 777x. The Boeing 777x is powered by the GE9X engine, which recently set a world record of generating 134,000 lbs of thrust.

How Far Can A Modern Twin Jet Fly On One Engine

Support The Airline Project crowdfunding campaign now:

With twin-engine jets becoming the norm these days, we thought we would take a look and see how far a modern twin-engine airliner can fly on one engine. Until not that long ago, transoceanic flights were nearly always flown with aircraft with four engines. This was because when it comes to how many engines a plane has, there is safety in numbers. If one engine was to fail, you still had three others to get you to your destination - or at least to a diversion airport.

What’s Happened To The Boeing 777-8X?

The longer-range version of Boeing’s new 777X, the 777-8, is intended for a niche market of very long and somewhat thinner routes- particularly when compared to its sibling, the 777-9.

While the latter is now set to enter service in 2022, production of the former is yet to begin. The question is, with customer demand virtually non-existent, will there still be a 777-8?

Air India’s 17 Hour Wild Ride - B777-200/LR Bengaluru to San Francisco

Secure your privacy with Surfshark! Enter coupon code SAM for an extra 3 months free at

I flew on India’s longest nonstop flight from Bengaluru to San Francisco. This Air India flight covers a distance of 8,701 miles and it is the longest flight operated by a Boeing 777-200/LR and the world’s 9th longest flight. The flight is pretty wild with over 800 mph speed due to strong tail wind.

My Journey started at Bengaluru Int’l Airport Terminal 2 with amazing garden setting. It is India’s nicest airport terminal. The non-stop flight to San Francisco is operated by a leased B777 from Delta Air Lines with hybrid decor. It features 28 Suites in Business Class, 48 Premium Economy and 212 Economy seats.

We took off with powerful thrust setting with close to maximum takeoff weight. Captain Mohammed Ali Khan explained the routing of the flight and the takeoff performance calculation. He also explained about the “Bump Thrust” feature unique to the B777-200/LR that can provide 5,000 pounds of additional thrust from the engines during takeoff.

I checked out the current long-haul service offering of Air India. The flight service included 2 full meals. Business Class passengers receive pajamas, amenity kit, and slippers. Has Air India improved? I gave my verdict at the end of the long flight.

The GE9X – The Engine That Will Power The Boeing 777X

It was late September when GE Aviation attained Federal Aviation Administration certification for its GE9X engine. The most fuel-efficient jet engine the company has ever produced, it will be used on the new Boeing 777X family of aircraft. Let’s take a closer look at this high-tech creation and what it’s capable of.

A Flying Mansion: The Boeing 777X Business Jet

There is a lot of excitement regarding Boeing’s upcoming 777X family. The aircraft will represent a strong commitment to a twin-engine future while retaining the size that made older aircraft like the 747 so awe-inspiring. The examples produced for airlines will surely be very nicely appointed inside, but the proposed business jet version of the aircraft is on another level altogether! Let’s take a closer look at this flying mansion.
