Gibsons, British Columbia...was it worth the trip???

As any boater knows, the weather plans everything so today we're leaving Bowen Island, B.C. to check out Gibson's Marina and Village Centre while we wait for a good weather window to cross the Strait of Georgia. While we didn't initially like what we saw after pulling into our slip, we ended up enjoying all that the town has to offer during our quick stop here. It's probably a GREAT place during the summer months, so we'll likely be back soon when the sun decides to shine on the Sunshine Coast!

Enjoy!

Boating in Vancouver, BC | Undiscovered Attractions around Vancouver you're likely unaware of

We explored many undiscovered attractions locals are unaware of around Vancouver, BC.

We hoped in a boat in a marina underneath the Second Narrows Ironworkers Memorial Bridge and explore up Indian Arm. Passing by many well known attractions like Gates Park, Deep Cove and Jug Island and eventually found ourselves at the Buntzen Powerhouse Station half way up Indian Arm.
There's surprisingly a dock here and a perfect area to snack and enjoy the view.

Next we boated to the end of Indian Arm passing by quite a few boat access only camping and found the ultimate attraction. Granite Falls. Granite Falls in a waterfall at the end of Indian Arm that stunningly flows into the inlet. If you can get out here it looks like an amazing place to camp.

Just across from Granite Falls is the famous Wigwam Inn. Opened in 1910 and housed some of the most famous people of the time, the Wigwam Inn is steeped with history and stories. I wish we had the chance to explore the historic hotel but we'll have to save it for another video.

On the way back we cruised passed Twin Islands. Twin Islands is another boat access only spot with more camping, swimming and another remote spot for the perfect getaway. Again it was packed so we couldn't dock our boat to explore twin islands but we hung out nearby, watched the fun and even seen some seals enjoying the sun.

We did manage to dock our boat at the Belcarra pier. This is the only spot accessible by car and because of that found the pier was fairly empty.

???????? British Columbia's best-kept secret: Sunshine Coast

#britishcolumbiacanada #sunshinecoast #canada
???????? One of the most beautiful places on earth is British Columbia, specifically the Sunshine Coast region, which is on the southern coast of BC, but have you ever heard of it?
We're guessing the answer is no, and we want to change that, with a video tour of this photogenic paradise. We're talking green green inlets, islands, spectacular sunsets, hikes, ferries, seaplanes and the one and only Skoomumchuck Narrows!

The first part of the episode takes you to the Sunshine Coast's most popular spots: Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt, Egmont, Skookumchuck, Powell River and Lund, and in part 2, Jefferson Graham has photo tips about how he got some of his cool shots that are seen in the video.

In next week's installment, the journey continues, with a water taxi across the Sound to a remote, somewhat deserted island called Savary.

BC's SUNSHINE COAST & SKOOCUMCHUCK NARROWS | Sailing SV Indigo, Season 2, Ep. 3

After a harrowing sail across the Strait of Georgia, we head north out of Gibsons to explore British Columbia's Sunshine Coast. First stop, Secret Cove, and a quick trek to beautiful Rockwater Resort and Spa for well-deserved massages! We pick up some crew -- friends from Seattle -- while provisioning in Pender Harbour, then sail east up to Backeddy Resort and Marina in Egmont. But currents become the overriding issue, as we attempt to dock in fast-running currents and take a hike to visit Skookumchuck Narrows to witness the fastest tidal current rapids in the world. Adventure sailing in the Pacific Northwest (PNW).
