I spent 7 days travelling round one of Europe's best kept secrets, the gorgeous country of Slovenia.
Starting in the picturesque capital of Ljubljana, I then made my way round to Lake Bohinj, where I took the cable car up to Mt Vogel.
I went white water rafting near Bled before swimming in the crystal clear waters of Lake Bled itself.
Then I travelled round to the Soča Valley and stayed in Bovec where I went canyoning, zip-lining and took the cable car up to Mt Kanin.

Lake Bohinj & Bled // Triglav National Park // Slovenia [4k]
Exploring Lake Bohinj and Triglav National Park in Slovenia (Bohinjska Bistrica)
Lake Bohinj is the largest natural lake in Slovenia. Nested in the heart of the Julian Alps, this jewel is a precious natural resource and at the same time offers endless opportunities for outdoor activities.
Lake Bohinj is located in a glacial valley and it comprises almost 100 million cubic metres of water – according to an old Bohinj joke: no more than a bucket if it is large enough. The steeply descending lake basin is relatively smoothly shaped and has no shallow areas. In summer, the temperature of the water rises to 22 °C; in winter, the lake freezes sometimes. Water level rises 2 – 3 metres after heavy rainfall.
Lake water is restored three times per year. The main tributary is the Savica, and the main distributary is the Sava Bohinjka. More than a third of the water flows into the lake from the Karst springs under the lake surface along the northern shore. During heavy rainfall, the Karst waters gush out as the Govic spring on the Pršivec hillside.
Lake Bohinj is perfect for water activities all year round – from swimming, boat riding, wind surfing, kayaking or canoeing, fishing and diving in warmer months, to (sometimes) even ice skating in winter. Visitors can also take a wonderful tourist boat ride or simply go for a relaxing walk along the shore. If ice stating is an option, please be aware, that you can only skate and walk on ice at your own responsibility. We recommend you to be extremely cautious!
There is a walking trail around the entire perimeter of Lake Bohinj. This trail is flat and easy to walk. I walked a small portion of it and along the way I saw a lot of families hanging out on the slivers of beaches along the water’s edge.

As the earth finished another lap around the sun, we circle a lake on that occasion. For the last video of 2022 we walk around Lake Bled in Slovenia.
Lake Bled is a lake, popular also with tourists just 35km from Ljubljana. We start our tour in the town of Bled, the go in counter-clockwise direction all around. There are some beaches and great views of the Mary's Church on Bled island is also known as Church of our dear Lady. After 1h 20m of speedy walking we finish our roubd at the St. Martina Parish Church with a view over the lake.

Bled is a town in northwestern Slovenia close to the Austrian border. Lake Bohinj Slovenia ???????? 4K Autumn Walking Tour
This is a Lake Bohinj Slovenia 4K Autumn Walking Tour taken on October 2021. Also known as Bohinjsko Jezero, is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia. It is one of the clearest lakes I have seen so you get to see some awesome reflections, especially of the mountains nearby. The walking tour is through the northern part of the lake as it is through the natural part. The lower section follows along a car road. If you hike the entire lake it is about 12 km's long but the best part is the norther section and definitely worth it.

Bled is located on the southern foot of the Karawanks mountain range near the border with Austria, about 50 km (31 mi) northwest of the state capital Ljubljana. South of Lake Bled are the densely forested Pokljuka and Jelovica plateaus, the easternmost parts of the Julian Alps. Here the Sava Bohinjka and the parallel Bohinj Railway lead up to the Bohinj basin, Lake Bohinj, and the Triglav massif.
A number of rises (Grad 599 m, Straža 646 m, Kozarca 558 m, Osojnica 756 m, and Ravnica 729 m) separate the localities of Bled around the lake, the former villages of Grad, Mlino, Rečica, Zagorice, and Želeče.
The lake is 2.12 kilometres (1.32 mi) long and 0.5 to 1 kilometre (0.31 to 0.62 mi) wide. In summer, the surface water reaches 25 °C (77 °F) and retains a temperature up to 18 °C (64 °F) until autumn. As such, it is suitable for swimming. In colder winters it freezes and is used for ice skating.
There is a thermal spring (23 °C or 73 °F) near the lake, next to the Bled Fault. Its water is used in indoor pools in two hotels.
