Guinea-Bissau Drone Flight: Bissau is the capital city of Guinea-Bissau, on the coast of West Africa. Its near the point where the Geba River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Bissau Velho, the old city center, is filled with decaying Portuguese colonial buildings. Nearby, Fortaleza dAmura is an old fort still used by the countrys military. A local market in the Bandim area offers intricate wood carvings and textiles. More African handicrafts are on display at the National Ethnographic Museum. Lagoas de Cufada Natural Park, farther north, is a wetlands region full of marshes and river channels. Guinea-Bissau is a tropical country on West Africa’s Atlantic coast that’s known for national parks and wildlife. The forested, sparsely populated Bijagós archipelago is a protected biosphere reserve. Its main island, Bubaque, forms part of the Orango Islands National Park, a habitat for saltwater hippos. On the mainland, the capital, Bissau, is a port with Portuguese colonial buildings in its old city center.
The distance from Jegue border to Bissau is about 130km. It takes about 3 and half hours drive due to the poor state of the roads. Which is surprising because along the way there's about 5police stops where you will have to pay for the road at every stop.It's also advisable to have a 4 wheel drive especially during rainy season.
So let's talk a little bit about Guinea Bissau. Did you know that Guinea Bissau official language is Portuguese but is spoken by only about 11% of the population. The local dialect is creole
2. The main form of foreign exchange is Cashew nuts. Some people call it the cashew coast of Africa
3. 80% of the population is employed in Agriculture with cashewnuts be in my the major two ethnic groups being Fulani being at 28% and balanta at 23%,

About Guinea-Bissau: Guinea-Bissau, officially the Republic of Guinea-Bissau (Portuguese: República da Guiné-Bissau), is a country in West Africa that covers 36,125 square kilometres (13,948 sq mi) with an estimated population of 1,874,303. It borders Senegal to the north and Guinea to the south-east. Guinea-Bissau was once part of the kingdom of Kaabu, as well as part of the Mali Empire. Parts of this kingdom persisted until the 18th century, while a few others were under some rule by the Portuguese Empire since the 16th century. In the 19th century, it was colonised as Portuguese Guinea. Upon independence, declared in 1973 and recognised in 1974, the name of its capital, Bissau, was added to the countrys name to prevent confusion with Guinea (formerly French Guinea). Guinea-Bissau has a history of political instability since independence, and only one elected president (José Mário Vaz) has successfully served a full five-year term. The new president is Umaro Sissoco Embaló, who was elected on 29 December 2019. Only about 2% of the population speaks Portuguese, the official language, as a first language, and 33% speak it as a second language. However, Creole is the national language and also considered the language of unity. According to a 2012 study, 54% of the population speak Creole as a first language and about 40% speak it as a second language. The remainder speak a variety of native African languages. There are diverse religions in Guinea-Bissau. Christianity and Islam are the main religions practised in the country. The countrys per-capita gross domestic product is one of the lowest in the world. Mingle with the natives and experience the local culture at Mercado Central, home to a variety of small shops and vendors that sell handmade shoes, clothes, and furniture. This is also a great place to try the national cuisine, so don't hesitate to sample some of the area's fresh specialties.
As Guinea-Bissau is one of 10 poorest countries in the world the goods are rare and the market is basically to cover the most important needs. You will find the market together with shops. As there is almost no tourism in Bissau, you hardly can buy a souvenir. The market is for local people. They buy chairs, working tools, medicaments, food and cloth, if they have the money for it. The economic situation is critical and people often have no money in the pocket and buy on credit.

La ville est elle dangereuse ? Que de questions qui restent sans réponse et nous sommes beaucoup trop curieux pour rester dans ce sentiment d'ignorance.

The distance from Jegue border to Bissau is about 130km. It takes about 3 and half hours drive due to the poor state of the roads. Which is surprising because along the way there's about 5police stops where you will have to pay for the road at every stop.It's also advisable to have a 4 wheel drive especially during rainy season.

Guinea Bissau is a small Undiscovered West African country, formerly a Portuguese colony. We travel to Cacheu and also to Bijagos. Is a pacific country, with friendly people and nice weather, and don't understand why his small Africa country is so undiscovered.
We will post new videos as soon as we make a trip. We enjoy traveling with our family and friends. Our videos are about the travels we made, and we like to show the most beautiful footages seen to encourage people to visit those places. We aim to produce videos to help people to travel in a budget, linking below the places we have visited.

Only 14% of the population speaks noncreolized Portuguese, established as both the official and national language. Guinea-Bissau is a member of the United Nations, African Union, Economic Community of West African States, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Community of Portuguese Language Countries, La Francophonie and the South Atlantic Peace and Cooperation Zone, and was a member of the now-defunct Latin Union.
The town of Cacheu is situated in the territory of the Papel people. The name is of Bainuk origin: i.e. Caticheu, meaning 'the place where we rest'.
Cacheu was one of the earliest European colonial settlements in sub-Saharan Africa, due to its strategic location on the Cacheu river. Cacheu developed a European/Afro-European population from the late fifteenth century through an informal settlement of Cape Verdean and Portuguese traders, adventurers and outcasts (lancados). The authorities in mainland Portugal also sent to Cacheu degredados - people condemned to exile for a variety of offenses.
Notable buildings in Cacheu include the Portuguese-built 16th-century fort, dating from the period when Cacheu was a center for the slave trade.

The Presidential Palace is the residence of the President of Guinea-Bissau, situated in the capital city of Bissau. At its height it was one of the most substantial buildings in the city, but it was ruined during the 1998–99 Guinea-Bissau Civil War and subject to bombing. As of 2012 the old palace still stood, but had become derelict, and infested with bats
Guinea-Bissau opened a new presidential palace Saturday, paid for by China to the tune of $8 million.
The former palace, which dated to the Portuguese colonial era, was mostly destroyed in the country's 1998-1999 civil war, which led to the fall of president Joao Bernardo Vieira Nino.
China is the only partner which does not demand anything in return when it finances construction projects in our country. It's a key partner, said Prime Minister Rui Duarte Barros at the ceremony.
China has financed several major building works in Bissau, including the parliament house, a courthouse and a 20,000-seater stadium.
While it is one of the world's poorest countries, Guinea-Bissau has substantial natural resources including rich mineral deposits and unexploited oil reserves, which observers say interest China greatly.
The small west African nation has suffered chronic instability since independence from Portugal in 1974 due to conflict between the army and state.
