Developing a Motorcycle Survival Strategy - Learning from David L. Hough

We all know that motorcycling is dangerous. No matter what we do, there will always be an element of risk. But, does that mean we should not ride, or are there things we can do to reduce the inherent dangers of riding. In this video I talk about some of the things I learned via an email conversation with David L. Hough, the god father of modern motorcycle safety.

How to Deal with the Indian Police & GET OUT OF BRIBES!

I've had a few run-ins with the Police in India. Most recently with them harassing me because of a video I made. So I'm going to teach you what I learnt in dealing with the Police and what I've learned about how bribes work in India.

Dealing with the Police in India is different to where I'm from. Some of the Police in India will not follow the rules and they will try and pressure you into doing something because either they don't have the power to do it under the law or because they're too lazy to do paperwork and the take case to court.

I'll tell you about my experiences with the Indian Police, bribery, and give you all my tips for dealing with the Police if they approach you in India.

Please remember not all cops are corrupt, most are friendly, helpful, and will just want to have a friendly chat with a foreigner. So don't be afraid of them. They're there to help you when you visit India and they will always do their best to help a foreign tourist. Jai Hind.

Kitchen Remodel Part 11 – New Quartz Countertops Installed

In this Part 11 video, a two-man crew from FloForm Countertops install new quartz countertops, manufactured in Spain, on our custom-made cherry base kitchen cabinets. The quartz countertop we chose is Silestone, and the color is Lusso: Near the end of this video, they install a window sill made from the same quartz. The craftsmanship, enthusiasm, and eagerness of the lead installer to explain every step of the process resulted in an exceptional product and an educational and entertaining experience.

Background: Having spent four years of our retirement in a small ranch style house built in 1978, we were ready to remodel the worn-out farm style kitchen. But the timing was bad. We were in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and most contractors in the area were overbooked and unavailable, even for an estimate. Then one day as we again passed by Tim’s Custom Cabinets, located at a new round-about in a residential area, we stopped in to inquire if they could give us an estimate. A month later, we sat down with Tony, the owner of Tim's Custom Cabinets and signed a contract for a major kitchen remodel. As it turned out, this remodel project took excruciatingly long to complete and was extremely disruptive to our daily life.

The total cost: A lot of clams!

Exploring Huge Abandoned College Left To Decay

Opening it’s doors in 1918, this junior college was built for the many people that were quickly moving into the surrounding area. Many jobs were being offered in close proximity to the campus’s location, and enrollment expectations were high. Over the next decade, expansions and additions were added to the building in order to accommodate the quickly increasing attendance rate that the booming economy was creating. Though these numbers didn’t last long. In the aftermath of the great depression of the 1930’s, enrollment dropped significantly, and lack of adequate space almost caused the school to shut down. Despite this, the community voted against the closure, and the school stayed open. By the 1980’s enrollment was at a comfortable number, though the college operated at a deficit that had grown far too high, reaching 1.4 million dollars by the end of the decade. The school administration was forced to cut programs. Faced with backlash, the administration decided to reverse its decision, but the damage was already done. The financial situation continued to deteriorate with accusations of misuse of funds, causing the Mayor to withhold state funding to the school. In February of 1995, all funding was cut due to un-resolvable financial and academic issues. Local representatives fought to keep the campus open, but by December of 1995, the college had run out of money, and closed down. Following the college’s closure, the building continued to be utilized as a Career Academy, but on January 23rd, 2009 the school board shut down the career academy with no official notification to parents, laying off 36 teachers to close the budget gap. Scrappers and vandals have since caused countless amounts of damage, causing the reopening of the school to be cost prohibitive. Today the site sits abandoned awaiting future plans.

Avoid These Guys in India 2 (Don't Be Scammed by Travel Agents in India!)

Avoid these Indian scammers at all costs! These travel agents you'll meet on the streets of India will lie to you, overcharge you, promise the world and deliver very little - if anything. They'll scam you out of your money! The list of online complaints against Indian travel agents goes on and on. And if you complain, they'll yell at you, and it's already too late because there's no such thing as refunds in India.

Just look at this scammer's store's name, Department of Tourism. He's trying to trick foreigners into thinking that he's affiliated with the Government of India. But the truth is the Government of India's Tourism Office near Connaught Place only offers FREE ADVICE. The Real IndiaTourism office is or search IndiaTourism DELHI on Google Maps.

To book travel in India, please use popular online travel portals or reputable travel agents which you have researched and read reviews about online. Never trust anyone on the street in India - especially if the conversation turns to money and how they can help you. New Delhi is littered with hustlers who'll take you to whatever travel agent will pay them the most commission - not the best travel agency who'll provide you with a pleasant experience.

Fake train and flight tickets are prevalent here in India too. Because of the way Connaught Place is designed, in a HUGE circle, you're unlikely even to remember where the travel agency that sold you the fake tickets is located. It's a very disorientating place. Plus there's no such thing as a refund in India and these travel agents are dangerous goons.

Feminism – The Global View

Gender equality and feminism have become increasingly central to the discourses shaping contemporary culture. This panel examines the impact of two major traveling exhibitions related to the topic: ‘Radical Women’, originated by the Hammer Museum, LA; and ‘We Wanted a Revolution: Black Radical Women, 1965–85’, originated by the California African American Museum, LA. Both shows have been on view in multiple institutions worldwide and have received a great amount of media coverage. But how have these exhibitions affected individuals from the communities of the various locations they took place, and has their impact led to any positive developments?

Black Women left America to find success and love in Africa! ✨

I had the chance to sit down with @BrittneyCaldwell and Tamara Remaray. Both of these women have been thriving in Africa and they can fill you in on what to know when relocating to Africa.

@BrittneyCaldwell sold her home in America and relocated to Kenya, where she was a teacher and is currently a full time philanthropist and African history content creator. She has a masters and doctorate from Howard University. She loves teaching African history and sharing the stories of different experiences in Africa. Please check out her channel to check out the best interviews

Tamara Ramsay, is an Air BnB host, a hostel owner, work as a virtual assistant, with many streams of passive income. She also left a comfortable home and rewarding job in America. She believes the relocation was necessary for her overall mental and physical health. She has moved to Africa and found love, wealth and happiness.

Both girls were living what is considered the American dream, but since moving to Africa, they would never return under any circumstance, except being dragged out of Africa ????.

I enjoyed my sit down with these ladies and I can't wait to see similar stories.
