Welcome to the Dragon Kingdom || Bhutan Travel Vlog (Part 1)

Welcome to the Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan! Thanks to Flying Fox Bhutan ( for giving me a 3 day tour around this beautiful kingdom. In my first episode, we learn about Bhutanese culture, visit the worlds largest sitting Buddha, see the national animal, Takin, visit a monastery for women, and check out the local markets of Thimphu. Stay tuned for more episodes to come!

Tucked away deep in the Himalayas, landlocked between the worlds two largest countries is the small kingdom of Bhutan. The land of Dragons. Boasting the worlds happiest people and surrounded by natural beauty this nation of less than a million people remains a mystery to most of the world. A complicated visa and expensive daily tourism fee makes it even more elusive. But the high value, low volume tourism model intrigued me allowing me to escape into this world of peace and brought back a sense of true discovery. This is day 1 of my 3 day adventure with Flying Fox Bhutan, and here’s how it went…

Bhutan, a Buddhist kingdom on the Himalayas’ eastern edge, is known for its monasteries, fortresses (or dzongs) and dramatic landscapes that range from subtropical plains to steep mountains and valleys. In the High Himalayas, peaks such as 7,326m Jomolhari are popular trekking destinations. Paro Taktsang monastery (also known as Tiger’s Nest) clings to cliffs above the forested Paro Valley.

BHUTAN RIDE from ALIPURDUAR PART-1 II PARO II #Thedotsmaker #BhutanRide #Alipurduar #Bikeride

Six guys, four bikes and the destination was Paro, Bhutan. We started our journey from Alipurduar. Six guys from six different places met in Phuentsholing (border area of Bhutan). We Indian nationals do not need any VISA or Passport for visiting Bhutan. Your only requirement is Voter ID and Passport size photo. After reaching phuentsholing we went to immigration office for getting our permit and new SIM card. Then we headed towards RSTA office for availing vehicle permit.
By the time we finished everything it was 4:10 pm. Then we started our journey for one of the beautiful cities of Bhutan, Paro. Throughout the ride the beautiful landscape of two sides of roads made our journey spellbound. We had to stop in two places for verification of our permit and reached Paro at around 9:30 pm.

Part-1 of this video covers the journey from Alipurduar to Paro.

In next video you will watch our hiking in Tiger's Nest.

Thanks for reading. Please do comment and subscribe for watching other parts of Bhutan Rides. Bye :-)
