Viewcations Caribbean Destination Moruga Beach - Trinidad Southern Coast
Moruga Beach is located on the southern coast of the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean is accessible via a long but rewarding drive to the rural district of Moruga. Popular during weekends, this beach and its accompanying well-maintained facilities ensure that all excursions are fun-filled as well as providing the necessary modern necessities to even the most modest visitor. The beach itself is written into the history books as the spot where the Italian navigator, Christopher Columbus, landed and claimed the island in the name of Spain. During low tide a wide expanse of shoreline is exposed for exploration as well as a rocky outcrop for the more adventurous to scout. Moruga is a fishing village so it is common to see many fishing boats dry-docked along the seabed as the water recedes during low tide. The shallow waters with its calming waves, even though muddied in appearance, is the perfect environment to release all the inner stresses of city life. Moruga beach, complete with its natural wall etched with the names of beachgoers of the past, is an ideal spot to bring the family to have a gratifying day. A hidden treasure of Moruga this beach is sure to captivate all who venture to it and is a spot that should be on that to-do list once on the southern coast of Trinidad. The lengthy drive should not be a deterrent as the destination more than compensates and while here visitors should take photographs, have a swim, and leave with memories of this historic place.

PRINCES TOWN to MORUGA then SAN FERNANDO Trinidad and Tobago Caribbean Drive Road Trip JBManCave.com
A road trip that starts in Princes Town goes down to Moruga via Moruga Rd., and then to then South Park Mall in San Fernando. In this video, you will see the following places from the main roads as we head into the deep South: Indian Walk, Fifth Company, Preau, Basse Terre, Moruga, and La Rufin. On the way back, we will pass on the Moruga Rd. again back through Princes Town through St. Madeleine, Cocoyea, Mon Repos and the general San Fernando area using the main roads.

PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - Welcome to Port of Spain, the Capital of Trinidad and Tobago islands in the Caribbean! I’m so excited to finally be here. So many of you have written to me over the years inviting me to visit for the amazing food and culture, so it’s really an honor to finally be here and to explore the incredible food. Let’s get started eating, we’re jumping straight into a massive 20 hour day of eating local street food!

And here’s everything we did in the video, and all the food we ate:
Central Market - We started off today at the Central Market in Port of Spain, bright and early in the morning before 7 am. And with Baidawi and David, who go to the market every weekend to do their shopping and have breakfast, we were in the right hands. After exploring the market and the amazing produce and ingredients that go into food in Trinidad and Tobago we then headed to the food court for some local fish broth and cow heel soup.
EatAhFood - Baidawi makes fantastic food videos, especially recipes, and so we bought ingredients and headed back to his house to cook Callaloo, an Afro Caribbean food of simmered down taro leaves and pumpkin and coconut milk. It was so good!
Roti - One of the greatest of all Trinidadian foods is roti - different from anywhere else. The rotis are huge and fresh and then stuffed with pumpkin, potato, and curry of your choice. An afternoon bulging roti with Zaak, was absolutely delicious.
Queens Park Savannah - Port of Spain - To continue on with this street food tour in Trinidad and Tobago, we went to Queens Park Savannah for a coconut and then continued on to the evening street food market to sample a bunch of different local foods - everything from doubles to pholourie and roast fish.
Yousef Gyro ( - Trinidad and Tobago is so diverse and there’s even a local Middle Eastern population including Yousef Gyro, owned by descendants of Syrian immigrants. They make all sorts of wraps and gyros and combinations you won’t find anywhere else. This is the ultimate late night food in Trinidad!
Dass Doubles Factory ( - We did have a quick doubles at the street food night market, but we went to Dass Doubles Factory for the real deal late night doubles. They made the barras fresh and load them up with heavy peppa sauce and delicious curry chickpeas.
Hadco Phase II Pan Groove Orchestra Pan Yard ( - Finally to complete this day we were treated to a panyard lime to see the ultimate instrument of Trinidad and Tobago - steel pan! It was so cool to see and an amazing way to wrap up this ultimate street food tour - and they have delicious food!

MORUGA is a small village in the Southern part of Trinidad, an island in the Caribbean. Trinidad is actually part of a country known as the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Moruga has some rich history but it is also in need of help to preserve the historic buildings and landmarks that occupy her borders. In this video, which makes up a series of videos, I show you Moruga proper in 5.3K resolution.

Retirees visit Moruga and find Paradise in Trinidad
My retired friends and I are off on a road trip to La Lune Village Moruga in Trinidad. We seek to continue to be active in our retirement and one of the ways we do this is by visiting various parts of Trinidad and Tobago. We have learned that for enjoying your retirement in Trinidad you must do things that you like. As we like going to the beach this video includes scenes from some of the beaches in Moruga Trinidad. We use the traditional route to Moruga beginning from Princes Town and in a sense retracing the route used by the Gurahoons when they sailed their canoes from Venezuela to come to Trinidad to trade and to visit their sacred mountains at Anaparima and Mount Tamana. On this journey we will see some of the historical sights in the Moruga district.
On this journey we discovered two beach side facilities that we had not previously known about. Called Fantasea and Paradise these are two rustic beach retreats in La Lune, Moruga Trinidad.
This is a fun light hearted road trip and as the accompaniment we will be going with music that has a trace of old school funk music.
