7 Best Places to See The Northern Lights - 4K Travel Video

No good traveller can imagine traveling around the world, without catching the spectacular Northern lights. Nature's breathtaking light show is an experience you should not miss in your lifetime. When highly charged electrons from the Sun meet with gaseous particles in the Earth's atmosphere, the Northern lights appear. The spectacular light show happens in areas around the North Magnetic Pole, 30 to 130 kilometres above sea level. The lights, which are also called aurora borealis, show up at night when the sky is dark. It’s like a celestial ballet of light dancing across the night sky, with a colour palette of green, blue, and sometimes even pink and violet. Winter is the ideal season to see the Northern Lights. In clear black sky, the light show becomes more intense. The Northern Lights will last anywhere from a few seconds to a full hour.

This travel guide contains our most favourite places to see the amazing Northern lights. The destinations are Greenland, Canada, Alaska, Iceland, Sweden, Finland and Norway.

Best Place for Northern Lights: Exploring Tromso Norway

Today we're in Norway! We explored Tromso with the goal of seeing the Aurora Borealis. It was an absolutely breathtaking sight! Tromso is about 2 hours by flight from Oslo (the capital of Norway).

Scandic Grand TROMSO a good upper mid level hotel that was right in the center of town, with breakfast and heated floors

Troll Museum in Tromso

Magic Ice Tromso: kind of a small bar a bit overpriced without as many ice sculptures as they advertised but worth checking out for your own opinion.

Reindeer Farm Tour Easily bookable anywhere in town, I DON'T recommend the sleigh ride.

NORTHERN LIGHTS TOUR there are so many options many providing the same thing. But I recommend booking one with photography included and one that's NOT on a large bus. Mini bus only. You want a group of 12 or less.

Thanks for watching please feel free to ask any questions!
