Best Hiking in Landmannalaugar! | The Highlands of ICELAND 4K
It's our first full day in Landmannalaugar and the weather was not cooperating with us! That didn't stop us from getting out and hiking Mount Brennisteinsalda! This hike has to be one of the most scenic hikes we've done to date! The views and landscapes were just incredible it felt like we were on another planet! We highly recommend this hike if you are planning on going to Landmannalaugar and we hope this video gives you some better insight about the hike!

Landmannalaugar Hike | Highlands of Iceland 4K Cinematic Drone Footage
Highlights from my day trip to Landmannalaugar in the Highlands of Iceland. I had time to hike the short loop trail and to the top of the nearby peak Brennisteinsalda which overlooks the huge lava field. I also went for just a half mile along the Laugavegur Trail for more sweet views.
The loop trail is 2.9 miles with 551 feet of elevation gain.
Enjoy epic 4K drone footage of the area plus some info about the hike and the crazy warm temperatures (for the area) that took place in July 2023.

Laugavegur: The Best Hike in the World
If you are only going to do one backpacking trip in Iceland - make it the Laugavegur.
The Laugavegur trail stretches from Landmannalaugar - a geothermal area known for it's colorful mountains in the north, to Thorsmork in the south.
Over the 32 mile trail, you have the option to stay in tents or in huts - but if you are going to stay in huts, be sure to book early!

The Laugavegur Trek is well known as one of the best in the world. We were not able to catch the early bus so we decided to double up the first day and do the hike in 3 days instead of 4. The weather is well known for not a matter of if it will rain but when it will rain. We were extremely lucky and had clear skies nearly the whole time. We started in Landmannalaugar and worked our way south. July 8- July 11 2017.
The BEST of Landmannalaugar | Mount Bláhnjúkur Iceland 4K
This was our last full day in Landmannalaugar and we decided to hike Mount Bláhnjúkur! You will see for yourself if this is the hike for you. We would say it's a moderate to difficult hike but really depends on your hiking level.
We are very excited to share this video with you as it contains I think our best drone shots to date!

Landmannalaugar marks the northern end of the Laugavegur, one of Iceland's most popular hiking trails. This route connects Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk, the ‘Valley of Thor’, ending at the beautiful Skógafoss waterfall.
