The Most Liveable Cities In The World

There are over 10,000 cities on Earth, but which is the best to live in?

A question with an almost impossible answer, there are too many factors to objectively determine which city is the best.

However, one of the most recognised ways to determine just how great a city is, is how liveable it is, or how comfortable your life is living in a particular city.

In 2021, only 2 of the top 10 most liveable cities in the world were in Europe, Zurich and Geneva of Switzerland.

This was due to the absolute pummelling europe received from lockdowns due to the pandemic, at the time of the 2021 rankings Australia and New Zealand had pretty much lived a lockdown free life.

Closing their borders had essentially allowed them to live relatively normal lives, especially when compared to other countries in the world.

But with the rise of the almost unescapable omicron covid 19 variant, even New Zealand and Australia's fortresses have been breached.

So as you are about to see from this video, this is a very dynamic list.

Some cities which rank highly one year, can see themselves plummeting down the rankings the next year.

Last year’s number 1 spot, Auckland of New Zealand has been crushed in this years rankings, falling from 1st place to 34th place.

10 Best Cities to live in Europe with the Highest Quality of life

Each year, two global surveys, Mercer's Quality of Living Survey and The Economist Intelligence Unit Livability Index, measure metrics such as crime rates, healthcare, infrastructure, quality of water, levels of corruption, culture and education, down to availability of sporting facilities and environmental concerns. They then decide which cities in the world are the best to live and thrive in. This is all well and good if you are a roaming nomad and have the freedom to choose where you will live and work in the future. Many of us, though, at least have the option to travel and pick the best places to visit. And if a city is livable, then it is usually also visitable. The same European city came out as the overall winner on both of the surveys. Here's a list of 10 best cities to live in Europe with the highest quality of life.

✅ Top 10 best cities to live in Europe with the highest quality of life:

1. Vienna, Austria
2. Zurich, Switzerland
3. Munich, Germany
4. Düsseldorf, Germany
5. Frankfurt, Germany
6. Copenhagen, Denmark
7. Geneva, Switzerland
8. Basel, Switzerland
9. Amsterdam, Netherlands
10. Berlin, Germany

10 European Cities with the Highest Quality of Life

What are the best countries in Europe? The European continent is comprised of an eclectic patchwork of countries, each of which has its own culture, distinguishing characteristics, and historical background to draw upon. That Europe is such a diverse and desirable place to live is due to its unique tapestry of cultures and nationalities. So, which one of its hundreds of cities would you choose as your new home base? Making a decision on this might be difficult, and it will be determined by your expectations of your new home city.

Many towns are amazing for the history and culture they provide; others, on the other hand, have developed into contemporary economic powerhouses in their respective countries – which is fantastic for finding job. Some pitch themselves as ideal places to have a family, while others offer themselves as excellent locations in which to raise a family.

Let us see the 10 best European cities with the highest quality of life.

10. Berlin, Germany

Berlin, Germany's capital, is one of the largest cities in Europe, and it is home to a bustling population that will greet you with open arms. Berlin is a great place to start your journey in Europe. It is possible to spend numerous days discovering everything that the German capital has to offer, and yet there will always be more to see and do.

Despite being one of the world's most powerful economic centres, Berlin is a surprisingly inexpensive location to live, which is a comforting concept for expats who are just getting settled in Germany for the first time.

Berlin's thriving economy also makes it a popular destination to live and work, thanks to its favourable working conditions and some of the highest wages in the world among other benefits. Furthermore, Berlin is not only one of the most attractive cities in Europe for job seekers, but it is also one of the most enjoyable to visit.

Berlin's reputation for having an exceptional nightlife culture that is bursting with vitality and life is well-deserved, and the city lives up to it in every way.

9. Amsterdam, Netherlands

The city of Amsterdam, formerly noted for its hedonism and Golden Age art, has evolved into a considerably more sophisticated and diversified metropolis that competes on the European stage. The city's natural beauty alone attracts a large number of expats; moreover, its intertwining canal networks provide an ideal setting that is characteristic of Amsterdam.

One of the reasons both ex-pats and locals enjoy the city is the tiny village-esque atmosphere it has to offer. Another reason that the city is welcoming to many ex-pat populations is the ability of the Dutch to communicate well in the English language.

However, while learning the local language is considered common politeness and will open many doors for you, the linguistic ability of the inhabitants of not just Amsterdam, but the entire country of the Netherlands, is an astonishing trait.

8. Basel, Switzerland

A new survey by the consulting firm Mercer has named Basel as one of the world's top ten cities with the best quality of living. When you reside in Basel, you are never more than a few steps away from everything. Museums, restaurants, and nightclubs, as well as parks and playgrounds, may all be found in this area.

Basel has it all, from modern residential and office structures that take your breath away, to a medieval town centre and historic areas dating back to the nineteenth century. Kleinbasel, which is cosmopolitan and hip, contrasts with the quieter and more family-friendly residential neighbourhoods on the outskirts of the city.

11 Best Countries to LIVE In The World 2019 | HD

According to UN's latest Human Development Report, the world is becoming a better place to live. Though the fact remains that about 800 million people in the world go to bed hungry daily, more than 1 billion people have risen out of extreme poverty in the past 25 years.

The report ranks countries that are best to live in. The UN reviewed nearly 200 countries under various factors, including life expectancy, education, gender equality, and financial wealth.

**Please Subscribe to my channel for more updates.**

Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto among top 10 most ‘liveable’ cities in the world

Canadian cities ranked high on the Global Liveability Index based on stability, culture, healthcare, infrastructure, and education.
Three of Canada’s biggest cities are among the 10 most liveable in the world, according to the latest Economist Intelligence Unit Global Liveability Index.

Calgary, Alberta, was the highest-ranked Canadian city on the annual index, placing fifth out of the 140 cities surveyed.
Vancouver and Toronto held on to their rankings from last year, ranking sixth and seventh, respectively.
The 140 cities reviewed received a liveability score based on qualitative and quantitative factors under each of the following five categories:
· Stability: This category examines the prevalence of crime and the threat of terror, military conflict or civil unrest.
· Healthcare: This category focuses on the availability and quality of private and public healthcare, over-the-counter drugs and other general healthcare indicators.
· Culture and Environment: This category looks at temperature rating; climate; the level of corruption; social or religious restrictions; food and drink; and other social components.
· Education: This category covers the availability and quality of private and public education.
· Infrastructure: An assessment of the quality of roads, public transportation, availability of housing, and other elements.
If a city gets a rating of 100 in a specific category it means the conditions are ideal, whereas a rating of 1 is considered intolerable.
How Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto fared
Calgary’s overall liveability score was 97.5, aided by perfect scores in four of the five categories; only its Culture and Environment score came up short at 90 out of 100.
Vancouver was the only city in the top 10 to receive a perfect score in the Culture and Environment category and also scored 100 in both Healthcare and Education. However, it came up short in the Infrastructure and Stability categories with scores of 92.9 and 95, respectively.
Toronto earned perfect scores in Stability, Healthcare, and Education, but was the lowest-ranked in the top 10 for Infrastructure at 89.3. Its score in Culture and Environment was 97.2.
