We visit the famous MARACAS BAY TRINIDAD & eat some delicious BAKE & SHARK courtesy Havana TT
Bake & Shark (Maracas Bay, Trinidad)
The sandwich has two main components, the bread, called 'bake,' which is fried roti dough, and the shark, a fried filet. Think of a giant flattened zeppole, or puffier Indian fry bread — about the size of pita, but much thicker. The bread is freshly fried — chewy and doughy, with great give. The fish is freshly fried too — flaky and moist, juicy and seasoned.
The bake and shark are good enough, but the condiment station takes things to higher level. There are typically more than ten deep half hotel trays filled with toppings: lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, coleslaw, and pineapple slices. There are sauces: hot sauce, tamarind, a Thousand Island like dressing, mustard, ketchup and shado beni chutney (shado beni being a leafy Trinidadian herb also known as culentro, Japanese saw leaf, or Mexican coriander).
You can pick and choose from toppings to place and layer as strategically. But the move, of course, is to pile it all on. The result is a juicy, zesty mess of salt and vinegar, pineapple sweet, and spicy bite, which somehow don't overpower the fish.

Macqueripe Beach - Trinidad
Had a great time with family at Macqueripe Beach in Chaguaramas, Trinidad.
After taking a scenic drive along the Chaguaramas coast, we walked down to the beach and had a lot of fun swimming, even when it started to rain.
I have a little flashback to when it had the jetties we used to jump off.
This beach has history, it was used as a port and in world war 2, was a dock for submarines.
We had snow cone and then we stope dat Bamboo Cathedral to take in the view and then headed home.
A great family fun filled day!!!!

Bake & Shark at Uncle Sam's Maracas Bay
We took a cool drive up to Maracas Bay to get our bake and shark. The weather was perfect in every way, water was blue and the smell of the ocean was so relaxing. Then as you near Uncle Sam's you could smell the shark and the bake frying in the oil. It tasted really good even without the condiments.
