For my first solo trip ever to Serbia, I did some extensive research about the country. So here's a list of everything you need to know before your first visit to Serbia.

With the pandemic going on, there have been so many alterations with rules and restriction, it's hard to get some clear information online. So this vlog will give you a run down on all the things you don't know about Serbia. Prior to my trip and after it, several other women travelers asked me did i feel safe in Serbia? And the answer is YES! The main cities such as Belgrade & Novi Sad are always bustling with people. Also, I made sure I centrally locate myself, so that everything is easily accessible to me.
I suggest take a pen and paper or starting typing in your Notes app, as these are things to know before booking your trip to Serbia in 2021. Before my visit to Serbia, I was quite nervous too but all those who've traveled solo in the past, were so motivating and encouraging of my decision. I strongly suggest you must visit Serbia in 2021. And visit it at least for 1 week, so you can enjoy all the sights of this gorgeous country.
Serbia is more expensive than you think!

Yea was such a great experience to be able to share with you guys this amazing experience. For a brief moment I forgot all about covid time and just enjoyed life restored. In this video we will explore the walking street in Belgrade and walk upon the Sava River, to enjoy the floating barges turned into rocking nightclubs. Afterwards I will grab a bite and Fat Boys and finally finish the night with a street ice cream cone. Check it out!

Con mi esposa Dace seguimos recorriendo este lado del mapa y llegamos a Serbia, el epicentro de la vieja Yugoslavia con su fuerte cultura eslava. Vamos a recorrer sus calles intentando percibir su forma de vida para compartirla con ustedes.
Estamos en Nis, en el sur de Serbia, una ciudad bastante alejada de Belgrado como para tener identidad propia y mostrarnos cómo es la vida en el interior del país.
La vida en el interior de Serbia es muy diferente a la vida en la capital. Las ciudades del interior son generalmente más pequeñas y tranquilas, con un ritmo de vida más lento. La gente es generalmente más amable y acogedora, y la cultura es más tradicional.
La economía del interior de Serbia es más rural, con una mayor dependencia de la agricultura y la ganadería. Sin embargo, en los últimos años, el turismo ha ido creciendo en importancia, ya que el interior del país ofrece una gran variedad de paisajes naturales y culturales e históricos.

Solo trip - peek into nightlife in Belgrade, Serbia
Belgrade nightlife 101 #travelshorts
I started off the evening by going to a local Couchsurfing meetup with a girl that I met in my hostel.
The meeting was quite lively, with people from all over the world as well as some locals.
The energy was good and people were very friendly.
I met a group of other travellers and some students from the local university who invited me to join them for a round of Rakija, a traditional Serbian spirit made from fermented fruit. We all hit it off and once the meetup was over, some of us were on our way to continue the night and check out the local nightclub scene.
I didn't hesitate for a second and soon found myself following them through the winding streets of the city, eventually arriving at what seemed like a university building, a place that I would never think housed a nightclub.
The place was not your typical club, it was setup in the court of the faculty building with an adjacent bar and a stage where the DJ was playing. The bar was pretty cheap with the basics being served up to the crowd, which consisted mainly of young students.
I even met a few other people that were on the same walking tour with me the other day, who also found their way to this popular spot for a night out.
All in all, it just goes to show that you never know what kind of adventure the night will bring. So the next time you're at a Couchsurfing meetup, don't be afraid to strike up a conversation and see where it takes you. You never know what kind of amazing experiences are waiting just around the corner.
