Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to go travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling, and we didn’t want to stop after just one year! Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we rean out of money and went home to normal life. We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. ????????????

Indycar provides great entertainment and the 2019 Indy 500 did not disappoint. I take you around the grounds of IMS before the race and show you the sights and sounds of IndyCar.

AT THE INDY 500 (our first vlog!!)
We were at the Indy 500!! This is also when we began vlogging and uploading to our channel. This video was our first ever vlog. It can only get better from here, right lol?

Exploring Indianapolis - Indy 500, Biking and Camping at the State Fairgrounds
Indianapolis is one of our favorite cities to explore each year, and 2021 was no exception. Our reason for visiting Indianapolis is Diane's family's tradition (which dates back to the 1950's) of attending the Indy 500 auto race, but over the years we've found so much to love about the city.
This year was even better than ever.
Brian discovered the 27 mile Monon rail trail that runs from downtown Indianapolis north directly past the fairgrounds so it could be easily accessed from our campsite. A nice 5 mile ride got us downtown onto the Cultural Trail where we could explore the city and the canal, and Alex and Diane got ambitious and did a 30 mile round trip to the Indy Motor Speedway. We took multiple rides up to the beautiful town of Carmel passing by ice cream shops, breweries, restaurants, and quiet wooded areas.
Our annual stroll along the Indy canal downtown almost ended up with us fostering another baby mallard duck, like our little Waddles last year, but luckily crisis was averted and we were able to reunite him with his mom.
And the best part of all was that Jarod was able to spend the week with us before heading off to work at a Christian summer camp in Southern California. So there were lots of nerf gun battles around the fairgrounds, as well as fun games of hide and seek with the dogs.

BUCKET LIST ALERT!!! NASCAR in our very own Motorhome!
Take your HOME to a NASCAR event! Camping or GLAMPING at a NASCAR event is something we have talked about for YEARS and YEARS as something we’d like to do when retired. AND IT HAPPENED!! We’ve been to many races (Peyton has loved racing his whole life) We have rented travel trailers and he has even tent camped with a buddy many years ago BUT to go in our very OWN home on wheels!!? This is our FIRST time at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and it was amazing~. BUCKET LIST CHECK!! ☑️ It won’t be our last but this was certainly a great weekend with great friends experiencing NASCAR in a new way at LVMS.
