Slovenia 4K Cinematic drone 2023 ????????

In August 2023, I visited Slovenia, and I'm excited to share the highlights of my journey with you.

Slovenia, a hidden gem in the heart of Europe, is a country that captivates travelers with its stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and charming cities. Nestled between Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia, this small but diverse nation has much to offer those who venture into its picturesque landscapes.

One of Slovenia's most iconic features is its breathtaking scenery. The Julian Alps dominate the northern region, offering a paradise for hikers, skiers, and nature enthusiasts. The Triglav National Park, named after the country's highest peak, Mount Triglav, is a haven for outdoor activities. Its pristine lakes, such as Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj, are framed by lush forests and snow-capped peaks, making them ideal spots for boating, swimming, and relaxation.

Speaking of Lake Bled, it's arguably Slovenia's most famous attraction. A charming island with a church at its center sits amidst the lake's emerald waters. Visitors can take a traditional pletna boat to reach the island and ring the church bell for good luck. Bled Castle, perched atop a cliff overlooking the lake, offers panoramic views and a glimpse into Slovenia's history.

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, Slovenia is a paradise for adventure sports. The emerald Soca River is renowned for white-water rafting, while the country's extensive cave systems, including Postojna Cave and Škocjan Caves, invite explorers to discover their subterranean wonders.

Slovenia's compact size means that you can easily explore different regions in a short period. Ljubljana, the capital, is a lively and green city adorned with colorful Baroque buildings and a picturesque castle perched on a hill. Strolling along the banks of the Ljubljanica River or sipping coffee in one of its charming cafes is a delightful way to experience the city's laid-back atmosphere.

Slovenia is also proud of its rich cultural heritage. The country's diverse history is reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and traditions. You can visit charming medieval towns like Piran on the Adriatic coast or Ptuj, one of the oldest cities in Slovenia, which boasts an impressive castle and a vibrant carnival tradition.

When it comes to culinary delights, Slovenian cuisine showcases a mix of influences from its neighboring countries. You can savor dishes like potica (a traditional nut roll), Štruklji (dumplings), and various stews. Don't forget to try the local wines; Slovenia's wine regions, such as the Vipava Valley and the Karst, produce exceptional wines that pair perfectly with the cuisine.

Slovenia's commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly practices is also worth noting. The country takes pride in its pristine environment and actively promotes responsible tourism and conservation efforts.

In conclusion, Slovenia is a country that punches well above its weight in terms of natural beauty, cultural richness, and outdoor adventures. Whether you're seeking the tranquility of alpine landscapes, the charm of historic towns, or the excitement of outdoor activities, Slovenia has it all. This small European nation offers an unforgettable experience for every type of traveler and is sure to leave you with lasting memories of your visit.

Compilation Of Stunning Waterfalls Of Slovenia In 4K

This is a compilation of waterfalls and cascades from Slovenia. The Slap Pericnik is a two stepped waterfall within the glacial Vrata Valley, Triglav National Park, Slovenia. In winter months both waterfalls freeze completely and the water droplets sprayed against the rock face form incredible, glacier blue stalactites and stalagmites. An incredible site.
The glacial water cascading over the rocks at the snowy Vintgar Gorge, Soteska Vintgar in Slovenia with its turquoise fast flowing river. Unfortunately the gorge is closed over the winter month, but you still have a great view from the entrance.
A couple of cascades towards the mighty Waterfall the Slap Kozjak and then the majestic fifteen metres high Waterfall hidden away in an almost cave like setting. The lavish green Soča River Gorge, the narrow valley with steep and rocky walls nature's beauty. The turquoise water of the Soca river running through the valley.
Next up the Slap Sopota and Slap Krampež not far away from the Slap Kozjak in Kobraid. Both are close together with only a 5 minute walk from each other. Located near the village of Drežnica.
The so called Glijun (Izvir Glijuna) stream shows a multi-stranded waterfall called Slap Virje, near the town of Bovec in Slovenia that is more than 11 meters in height and about 19 m in width. Below, there is a stunning emerald green pool .
When you get to the Log pod Mangartom road towards the mighty Mangart saddle, you can view the steep waterfall from the bridge.
A view of the Tolmin Gorge from above. A fast flowing river with its footbridge going across. The Gorge is closed over the winter month, but it still gives you this great view from above.
The cascading river at the village of Zelezniki in Slovenia with its colourful houses in the background.

For my photography visit:

Discover Slovenia: A Nature Lover's Paradise

Slovenia is a gorgeous country that offers plenty to do for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and wine enthusiasts. From the breathtaking gorges of Vintgar and Tolmin to the brilliant emerald water of the Soca River, and from the Brda wine region that recalls the rolling hills of Tuscany all the way to the seaside village of Piran, Slovenia has it all!

Meet this hidden gem in Europe: Slovenia 4K

When most people think of visiting Europe, some countries immediately jump to mind. The charming historic cities of places like France, Spain, and Italy are ever-green. The breathtaking natural landmarks of Germany or Scandinavia also draw in many visitors. Still, there is a tiny European country that’s often overlooked, even though it has so much to offer. Slovenia should definitely be on more people’s shortlist. Slovenia has everything from mountains to charming coastal towns and medieval cities. The central-European nation has a lot to offer!

Outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers would particularly enjoy Slovenia. The country is often categorized into five natural regions. These are often defined by the surrounding territory. The alpine and sub-alpine regions are deeply tied to Europe’s most prominent mountain range system. Still, the country is also known for its sub-Mediterranean areas. Extensive forests and woodlands characterize its continental regions. Because of its unique location, Slovenia is very diverse. Despite its small size, it is home to a diverse range of natural environments.

Such a kaleidoscopic range of territorial quirks is an ideal habitat for many animals. The stunning beech forests in the heart of Slovenia are home to a wide variety of mammals. Some of them are lynxes, boars, dormice (a local culinary delicacy), and hares. The alpine areas are home to the Ibex and the Chamois. These impressive wild goats thrive at high altitudes and are incredible climbers. Slovenia also has a wide variety of birds, many of which have also moved deep into urban and suburban areas.

Any traveler seeking to experience such beauty can visit the Triglav National Park. This is the most prominent protected natural reserve in the country. From the icy peaks of the alps (including the park’s namesake, Mt. Triglav) down to the lush valleys and sprawling forests, the park is the place to be. It feels like a perfect representation of Slovenian nature in a nutshell. Among the many notable destinations in the country, the Logar Valley is particularly outstanding. It is a great example of a pristine Alpine glacier in Europe. Every corner looks like a postcard, and there is something special about this valley, where unspoiled mountain landscapes interlace with local tradition and folklore. The Logar valley offers a very mercurial landscape: from lush, green valleys to snowy peaks and mesmerizing waterfalls, it’s a one-of-a-kind place. The valley is also home to the famous Rinka Waterfall, which happens to be the most visited waterfall in Slovenia. While many other waterfalls in Slovenia are mostly explored by committed hikers, the Rinka waterfall is more accessible. It’s conveniently located in an area accessible by car, so even people who aren’t hikers or trekkers can easily check it out and enjoy the sight - and what a sight! This protected natural heritage feature is quickly becoming a symbol of the fast-growing tourism economy in Slovenia.

Mount Grintovec is another fascinating Slovenian destination in the northern region of the country. Second only to Mount Triglav, the country’s highest peak, this mountain embodies the archetype of a central European Alpine setting. Hikers and neophyte climbers love to visit Mount Grintovec for its relative approachability (it’s not a very challenging climb) and the amazing payback it offers in terms of scenery!

The Soča river, also known as “The Emerald Beauty,” is one of the most distinctive rivers in the world due to its mesmerizing color. The area isn’t only popular due to the beautiful waters: it’s an amazing outlet for outdoor adventures, as well as some amazing hiking in the footsteps of historic WWI trails!

Here are top 10 things to do in Slovenia

Visit Predjama Castle

Predjama Castle is a magnificent Renaissance castle. What makes this castle unique is the fact that it is built inside a cave. The castle used to be home to Erazem Lueger, a knight, who was known as the local Robin Hood.

Explore Postojna cave

The Slovenian underground hides thousands of caves. Among those, twenty-two are open to the public, and Postojna Cave is the most visited. A 90-minute guided tour takes visitors through caverns, halls, and passages that were carved by the Pivka River.

See the wonders of Lake Bled

Lake Bled is one of the most visited attractions in Slovenia. The beautiful views of the lake and the small island it surrounds brings thousands of visitors every year.

Immerse yourself in Lipica Stud Farm

Lipica Stud Farm has been breeding Lipizzaner horses since the sixteenth century. Once used by royals for their private stables, the farm is now open to visitors and allows them to admire this beautiful breed of horse.

Stroll around Triglav National park

The Triglav National Park, named after the country’s tallest mountain, is the only National Park in Slovenia. With beautiful views of the mountains, hills, lakes, rivers, and pastures, this park is a nature lover’s paradise. Aside from hiking, Triglav National Park offers great activities such as kayaking, rafting, skydiving, and parasailing.

Be amazed of the Salt Fields

The Salt pans in the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park are one of the few places in the world where sea salt is still produced by using a centuries-old method. When walking on the park trails, visitors can observe salt being harvested manually by local workers. For those who wish to pamper themselves, Lepa Vida Thalasso Spa offers massages and baths where the healing powers of the sea salt are used.

Take the Chance to see the Oldest Vine in the World

In the Lent area of Maribor, Slovenia’s second-largest city grows the oldest grape-producing vine in the world. Records show that the vine has been growing on the façade of an old house since the seventeenth century. The house is now a visitor’s center where guests can taste the best wines of the Maribor region. In honor of the oldest vine, The Old Vine Festival is organized every year. The festival starts in September with picking the grapes off the vine, and it ends with a big celebration on St. Martin’s Day when the must turns into wine.

Check out the Kobarid Museum

The Kobarid Museum was founded with the purpose of preserving, presenting, and researching the history of World War I in Slovenia. Most of the museum is dedicated to the Soča Front, the most important front on the Slovenian territory in the Great War. The rooms of the museum present visitors with photos documenting the horrors of the front, military charts, diaries and maps, and two large relief displays showing the front lines. Visitors can explore the museum on their own, or they can partake in one of the guided tours.

Get a rush at Planica Nordic Center

Planica is home to the biggest ski jumping hill in the world. For over twenty years it has hosted one of the most important ski jumping competitions in the world. In 2015 Planica received a much-needed update, and the new Planica Nordic Center was built. Aside from the ski jumps the center also features an athletics stadium, a zipline, a wind tunnel, cycling and walking paths, and a visitor’s center. Planica zipline has the steepest descent in the world, which creates the sensations that ski jumping champions feel when flying through the air.

Go on an Adventure at Solkan Bridge

The Solkan Bridge, located near Nova Gorica, is a great place to view the turquoise Soča River and the beautiful Soča Valley. The bridge also holds the world record for the longest train bridge built solely out of stone. For the truly adventurous, bungee jumping off the bridge is the most unique way to admire the beauty of the Soča Valley.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Drone Flight: Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe. Its countryside is home to medieval villages, rivers and lakes, plus the craggy Dinaric Alps. National capital Sarajevo has a well preserved old quarter, Baščaršija, with landmarks like 16th-century Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque. Ottoman-era Latin Bridge is the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which ignited World War I. In the city of Mostar, Stari Most, a reconstructed medieval arched bridge spanning the emerald-green Neretva River, is one of the countrys most famous sites. Blagaj is known for its 16th-century monastery, strikingly situated where a river flows from under a towering rock wall. Although mostly landlocked, Bosnia and Herzegovina has a sliver of Adriatic coastline, with beach resorts around the town of Neum. The countrys rugged interior is also a popular destination for outdoor sports such as hiking, mountain biking, white-water rafting and skiing. [wikipedia // Google]

Feelgood travellers in episode : Paths of the emerald river

Soča & Vrata Valley, Slovenia (????????)
.
Still under the impression of the incredible world of the Julian Alps, Triglav National Park, and the emerald green River Soča. In three days we didn't manage to visit all the initially planned sights & landmarks in Soča and Vrata Valley so we are returning again soon to experience more of this beautiful nature. Here are the highlights of our tour.

Amazing Journey To The Waterfall Slap Kozjak

An amazing journey towards the waterfall called Slap Kozjak, Kobarid, Slovenia . The first view is of the Napoleon's Bridge with its slim banks of the emerald river Soča also called or Isonzo. The bridge is a part of the architectural heritage. In 1616 the wooden version of this bridge got demolished and rebuilt with stone in 1750. High above the bridge, the 2,244 metres Mountain called Krn part of the Julian Alps in Slovenia. Next up the Kozjak suspension Foot Bridge and views of the Krn mountain. On the way to the main waterfall, there are many beautiful smaller falls like the Mali Kozjak. When you get to the lavish green Soča River Gorge, the narrow valley with steep and rocky walls you’re in awe of the beauty. The turquois water of the Soca river running through the valley. A river that is 138 kilometre long and runs through western Slovenia and northern Italy. Prepare to get some wet feet, especially in March when the water is higher than usual, but with less people makes this a much better time of the year as it is more of a peaceful place. At one point you might not want to continue when you see the narrow footpath on the rock face as you have to hold on to a steel cable to continue, but it’s all worth it. You can hear the thundering water from the fall, one of the most spectacular surroundings and when you get around the last corner you’ll see the wonderful, majestic 15 metres high Slap Kozjak, hidden away in an almost cave like setting. Be prepared to be amazed!
