There's nothing like a beach day to have you feeling relaxed and refreshed! That's exactly why we decided to head to Constanta, Romania: To spend a few days recharging on the Black Sea!

We wanted to take you guys along on our beach day in Constanta. We start the day watching a sunrise over the Black Sea, then relax for a few hours. After that, we grab a bite to eat at one of the best Greek restaurants in all of Constanta.

We begin our journey at Gara de Nord train station in Bucharest, Romania. I absolutely loved the historical look of this train station. It was a beautiful 2 hour train ride over to the coastal town of Constanta, Romania which lies on the Black Sea. Romania's trains have a little age on them, but they are very cheap and I found it to be a very enjoyable experience. The old Constanta Casino was being renovated unfortunately, so I couldn't enjoy the wonderful architecture I had read about. I had an absolutely amazing lunch at Marco Polo Restaurant. The real treat of the day was getting to view some ancient Roman ruins. What an experience. It was so well preserved and the history was incredible. I ended my day in Constanta at the Mamaia Beach. I'm not really a beach person, but it seemed to be a really nice beach with lots of restaurants, hotels, places to relax and fun activities like a chair lift. After that, it was back to Bucharest.

Mamaia is a resort on the Romanian Black Sea shore and a district of Constanța.
Considered to be Romania's most popular resort, Mamaia is situated immediately north-east of Constanța's city center. It has almost no full-time residents, being populated mostly during the summer.

Mamaia lies on a strip of land 8 km (5 mi) in length and only 300 m (330 yd) in width, between the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol.

The beach season is at its best between mid June and early September, when average daytime temperatures range between 25 and 30 °C (77 and 86 °F). The water stays warm until mid autumn.
Hotels range from mid-end to exclusive 4- and 5-star hotels and private clubs. There are also camping sites in the north.

The last leg of our trip this time in Romania is the Road Trip to Constanta to relax and have fun at the Mamaia Beach. We stayed in a hotel just in front of the beach. Our 2-year old toddler enjoys the beach a lot. We also had fun and met some of our friends. It was such a nice weather during the time of our visit. Not to mention there are less people than normal. It was a transition period to their off-peak season in the area. We think it is the best time to visit this area during these times.
