This video includes a variety of beaches with something for everyone. Taking a look at the different coasts, you can see there are some obvious differences. The beaches on the Caribbean Sea (West Coast Beaches) are typically calm and tranquil, with small waves and easy entry, but they tend to be busy. The beaches on the Atlantic side (East Coast Beaches) are wilder and have larger waves and spectacular scenery, especially as you head north. The beaches on the south side of the island can also be a bit wild, but some are ideal for water sports like surfing or kiteboarding.
1. Carlise Bay - Browne's Beach, Pebbles
Carlisle Bay is a small natural harbor located in southwest of Barbados. Best known for its popular beaches Brownes Beach and Pebbles Beach. Locals and tourists flock to this area for scuba diving, snorkeling, and sea bathing. Brownes Beach is one of the largest of Barbados' beaches, stretching from The Boatyard in the north to Needham's Point in the south.
2. Hilton Beach
Now Hilton Beach as I am calling it sits in front of the Hilton Resort, some may call it an extension of Drill Hall Beach. But for the purposes of this video and specification let's call it Hilton Beach. Located at the very corner tip of the southwest coast. what makes this beach unique and a contender on the list of top beaches is its convenient location and mini bay beach made from rock barriers making it great for a clear, calm dip in the ocean.
3. Drill Hall Beach
just to the south connected to the Hilton beach is one of the most diverse in Barbados. Here you'll find a variety of sea conditions with something for everyone! Young children will enjoy wading in the calm waters and exploring the natural ocean pools which are teeming with marine life.
4. Shark Hole
If you are feeling adventurous and up for a drive to one of the most south coast beaches in of St. Philip. Then Shark Hole is the one for you with finding it a part of the adventure. Once you do get there you'll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the ocean as waves crash onto the cliffside.
Directions
If you’re coming from Bridgetown or the West Coast, take the H5 until you get to St. Philip.
Turn right at the road to Long Bay and follow it all the way down to the coast. You’ll see a large rocky parking area where you can park and you’ll walk the rest of the way to Shark Hole.
Google Maps can take you to Shark Hole Beach accurately. For parking, you can either park on the street next to the beach access point or you can park at the rocky parking lot directly overlooking the cliffs, just a 2 minute's walk away.
If you’ve parked at the rocky parking lot, walk back down the street the way you came for one block. Take the first left down the residential street. Keep an eye out on your left for a sandy passthrough between the houses. This will take you to the stairs that lead to Shark Hole.
5. Rockley to Hastings Rock Beach
Also known as Accra Beach, this very popular south coast beach offers a combination of exciting waves and calm swimming pools. The southern end of the beach is perfect for smaller children, as there is a pool-like area protected by rock barriers that break the force of the waves.
6. Silver Sands Beach
Silver Sands Beach is a stretch of powdery white sand and roaring waves located on the south coast of Barbados and offers the ideal spot of a wide variety of watersports. During the winter months, the tradewinds off the coast of Silver Sands create perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing, and Silver Sands is recognized as a world-class location for these exciting sports.
