#271 Hey guys, come aboard with us as we get moving through onwards the Azores. It takes the whole SLV family to get ready and be sailing at all hours round the clock. And while Lenny's sailing ability is naturally limited at this young age, we expect him to be sailing us around by age 6 and we'll never have to take night shift again. In the meantime we are so blessed to have Andre crewing with us as we make it to the next island. We're headed to Terceira and its capital Angra do Heroísmo where we get to explore a stunning 500 year old town.
No adventure is complete without some food shortages, pragmatic menus and failed hunts, but that's boat life. Thank you all so much again for watching and continuing to support our adventures, and welcome into our life onboard on a crossing.

In 2017 we bought our first sprinter van and spent 30 days renovating it into our dream tiny home. The plan was to van life around the world and we'd made it all the way from Canada to Africa. Fast forward to COVID...us abandoning our van in a Moroccan parking lot, flying home to Canada, converting yet another van, and then moving to our cabin in the woods. Now, we're taking the plunge into BOAT LIFE!
We've always envisioned moving into the woods by the lake and building our dream tiny cabin as a home base for us to come back to in between our international van life travels. And as much as we love cabin life we've definitely been craving an adventure so we moved onto a boat for 72 hours to explore the Rideau Canal system!

So after settling into life at our new cottage, we thought it would be fun to do a quick house tour, and then go check on Penelope in the boatyard and walk through all of our winter plans for the projects we’d like to get done. We’re hoping to install a fridge, redo the bathroom plumbing so the holding tank smell issue gets fixed, redo all three beds, get new rigging, sails, and a bunch of other essential items to get Penelope in the best shape of her life ; ) Last year while we were shopping for sailboats one of the owners we met said: “anything you don’t get done in the first year probably won't happen in the next 10,” so we are taking that advice and making sure we get as much as possible done on the boat so that when we head out for our circumnavigation things go smoothly. Obviously since Penelopes a Rasmus 35 from 1976 there will always be things to fix, but we’d like to get the major projects done this winter so from here on out its more about maintenance and not redoing the entire kitchen ; ) What’s one project you’ve always meant to tackle but never got around to it?
