2 people riding on a tiny motorcycle – a Honda RS 150R with only 150 cc’s of power… you’d think this would be a recipe for disaster.
Especially when considering that our goal that day was to ride all the way to Kilometer 0 in East Malaysia, a 280 kilometer trek and motorcycle milestone that marks the beginning of the Pan-Borneo Highway and Borneo’s Tip-to-Tip Route. Oh yeah, and one more thing – we were going to be following our friend who was riding a BMW GS 1200! Attempting to follow him, anyway...

Throughout my journey, I was raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. Motorcycle Crisis: Grinding Along Sharp Turns [SE E18]
Normally, we would love to ride a motorcycle down a road like this… Paved, twisting, and beautiful. Volcanoes and greenery on either side, this should’ve been the best ride ever. Except when we took turns, the center stand of our Bajaj Pulsar 220 started scraping the ground and making horrific sounds.
Something was wrong. And little did we know, but it was actually much worse than we had initially feared.

Our 2023 European Motorbike Tour! Get ready for great biking, epic roads, the occasional beer and many, many, many thumbs up to camera.
This year we take the usual DFDS ferry from Newcastle to The Netherlands and travel to Germany, Italy, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium and The Czech Republic. Taking in towns such as Monschau, Schwabish Hall, Riva Del Garda, Cortina D'ampezzo, Bad Reichenhall, Pilsen, Speyer, Vianden and Antwerp. With some epic roads including Stelvio, Grossglockner, Strada della Forra, Gardena Pass and Passo Sella (all on our BMW R1250 GS motorcycle) to name just a few.

Après nos aventures dans le Rif nous arrivons aux portes du grand Atlas. Une fois sur le plateau désertique le thermomètre s’affole, et on passe pour la première fois la barre des 42° ????
On est en train de se liquéfier dans nos combis et Falkor apprécie moyen le hammam. On fait donc durant le trajet plusieurs pauses pour refroidir cette brave bête.
Après ces breaks forcés de refroidissement, le paysage change à nouveau et nous voilà dans la vallée de la Ziz. Les oasis se mêlent au désert et on roule dans ces paysages et pour la première fois depuis le début du voyage je sens qu’on est loin de la maison.
VALLEE DE LA ZIZ
Vers 18h, on arrive dans notre guesthouse Luna del Fuego au cœur de la vallée de la Ziz. Haïsha et Ismael nous accueillent dans leur magnifique maison construite au milieu d’un bel oasis
Au départ de la vallée de la Ziz on croise les doigts pour que Falkor tienne le coup. La route est belle et désertique et on traverse ces paysages impressionnants sous une chaleur de plomb. On aura le droit à notre record de chaleur en côtoyant les 45° !
Mais comme vous pouvez l'imaginez, Falkor n'a pas hyper apprécié ce nouveau record. On a environ 3h de route et durant 2h30 la moto toussotera non stop nous obligeant à nous arrêter de temps en temps.
MERZOUGA
Merzouga c’est un petit village saharien situé en plein désert et à deux pas de la frontière avec l’Algérie.
Vers 18h30 on part derrière notre auberge et on aperçoit au loin nos montures qui arrivent. On part avec Mustafa en direction de la grande dune de erg Chebbi, réputé pour être la plus haute du Maroc.
Après le tour, on appelle un mécano avec qui on a échangé sur Facebook. On embarque Falkor à l’entrée de la ville et la on rencontre Saïd le jeune mécanicien et Mohamed le patron.
Un premier filtre à essence est inspecté mais il est en bon état. Par contre, le second est super bouché.
Après ces quelques jours dans cette chaleur qu’on a jamais vécu auparavant. On est assez convaincu de ne pas trop traîner dans cette région désertique. Trop chaud et trop aride en ce mois de juin. On se dit que nos corps de suisse ne sont vraiment pas fait pour vivre dans cette chaleur de fou, mais une fois de plus, exactement l’inverse se produira.
Les rencontres, le destin et la gentillesse des marocains feront qu’à la place de fuire vers les montagnes comme on l’imagine on trouve un nouveau Workaway en plein désert à 1h à peine d'où on est.
MERZOUGA - WORKAWAY
Au départ de Merzouga, il fait à nouveau 42 degrés mais on est prêt à affronter la chaleur du désert.
La moto toussote jusqu’à un petit village paumé au milieu du désert et une fois de plus, on expérimentera notre fameux dicton qui dit que tout ce qu’on prévoit finit souvent par être totalement l’inverse.
Nous qui voulions passer maximum 3 jours dans le désert, nous voilà embarqués pour 3 semaines folles à vivre avec une famille incroyable dans un nouveau Workaway…
Mais tout ça, c’est une autre histoire.

Pour le référencement : ici on parle de voyage moto aussi appelé voyage à moto. On voyage avec notre moto dans de long road trip au maroc. Road trip dans la vallée de Ziz et à Merzouga et roadtrip au Maroc. C'est un voyage moto qui nous a mené sur les routes de Suisse, France, Andorre, Espagne, Portugal, Gibraltar et Maroc. Dans cette épisode on a des soucis mécaniques avec Falkor notre BMW GS800. Des soucis de chaleur (problème de chaleur GS800). La pompe a essence défectueuse nous fait presque calé avec des fortes chaleur. On va voir un mécano à Merzouga et on en profite pour faire un tour dans le désert.
LOFOTEN: A roadtrip to the MOST AMAZING places of Lofoten Islands // EPS. 7 EXPEDITION NORTH
If there is one place on earth where it doesn’t matter if it rains, if snows, or if the sun shines because it’s beautiful never the less - it must be Lofoten Islands in Norway. A rugged mountain chain is rising up from the Gulf Stream, forming a rare and unique world. It’s wild and beautiful, with azure blue water, white beaches, green mountainsides, beautiful fjords, old fishing towns and maybe some of the most spectacular roads in the world.
Here are my Highlights for a visit on Lofoten islands:
- Visit the town Å i Lofoten
- Sleep in traditional Rorbuer, old fishing huts that are often reused as appartments and rent out to tourists
- Dine at Holmen Restaurant
- Drive over the stunning Fredvang bridges
- Check out the artistic village Henningsvær and it's football field, that is situated on it's own island
- Visit Nusfjord, one of the best preserved historic fishing villages in all of Norway
On our arrival with the ferry from Bodø in Moskenes on the island Moskenesøy of Lofoten we first did a trip to the most southern village of the island - that has the shortes name I ever came across: Å. After arriving in our accommodation Eliassen Rorbuer I invited my travel partner to Holmen Restaurant for a amazing dining experience.
The next day we finally took off to explore Lofoten: We drove over water at the beautiful Fredvang bridges, visited Nusfjord and it's restored historic village, looked at some art boutiques and the football field at Henningsvær and ended our day in Svolvær.
