Here's the thing... although Barcelona, Spain is famous for its food, it can actually be a really tough place to eat well. That's because there are so many tourist trap tapas bars out there serving soulless, flavourless junk. And it can be really difficult to find the great places.

But fear not, having spent a lot of time in this city, I've finally narrowed down a list of 8 of the best tapas bars in the city. These places will not disappoint - great food, excellent wines and full of soul.

So, I hope you enjoy this tapas tour of Barcelona's best tapas bars, which I did recently with two my colleagues from Devour Tours - my fellow Devour Tours co-founder Lauren Aloise (check out her Spanish food blog: and Devour's marketing director Katie Stearns. Together we tackled 8 top tapas bars on what was an epic tapas tour and also a wine tour (we tried vermouth, white wine, red wine and even Spanish dessert wine). So, if you´re coming to Barcelona, check out this video so you don't wind up stumbling into a tourist traps.

The bars we hit were:
1. Bodegas Maestrazgo
2. Bodega Puntual
3. El Chigre
4. La Viña del Señor
5. Bar del Pla
6. Bar Brutal
7. Bar La Plata
8. Bodega La Palma

Barcelona is an amazing place to eat! But here’s the thing - it can also be hard to eat well in Barcelona because it’s so touristy. There are just so many options, and lots of them literally are tourist traps. But happily there are also so many incredible places to eat and delicious things to taste and drink if you just know where to look.

In this video I take you to 10 of my favourite places to eat 10+ incredible bites. And we visit 3 famous neighbourhoods across the entire video. We go to the Born, the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta - three neighbourhoods that you have to visit, and we’ll eat delicious food in each!

And a number of places are places we visit on Devour Tour’s food tours - including our Tastes & Traditions of Barcelona Food Tour and our Tapas, Taverns & History Food Tour

Also, once you’ve watched this, be sure to check out my playlist of Barcelona videos - including my epic 9-stop Barcelona Tapas Crawl.

So, where do we go?
1. Granja Dulcinea for an incredible suizo (chocolate and cream!)
2. Mercado Santa Caterina: We visit Bar Joan for a fry-up breakfast and cava and Antonio Iberics for a fantastic selection of cured meats. Plus, we visit a stall for delicious escalivada.
3. Historic Casa Gispert for a selection of wood-roasted almonds, and chocolate treats
4. Hofmann Pastisseria for an insane marscapone croissant
5. La Campana for delicious turrón and horchata
6. Xarcutería La Pineda for vermouth and a selection of potato chips with Espinaler sauce, cheeses and salt-cured anchovies
7. Bodega La Palma for patatas bravas and red wine
8. Can Paixano for a delicious butifarra sandwich and also a pork loin and cheese sandwhich - all knocked back with their famous cava
9. La Cova Fumada for a bomba (it was invented here!), grilled squid and grilled sardines
10. Can Ramonet for a delicious seafood fideuá and drinking from the porrón!

Salut!

ABOUT US.

We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week—from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.

Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline—it’s just the new, global way of life.

Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.

We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

Barcelona Tapas: Cañete Restaurant. The best tapas, craziest waiters, and most fun in Barcelona.

Barcelona is a city built upon small bites of food, that come on pretty plates with little toothpicks stuck in them. In fact the name Barcelona come from Barce Lo Na which means Stick with Food (this is absolutely not true) so you better believe when it comes to Tapas, there is your fair share to choose from.

While We can give you a hot top five places on where to get your nibble on, there is one pace that takes the cake, and it is the infamous Cañete Tapas Restaurant in the sexy El Raval section of the city.

As soon as you walk through the door you are accosted by the flavor of this joint, that permeates everything including the amazing staff. Bold flavors wrapped in delicate packages come flooding to your table almost like an avalanche, each dish more audacious then the next, as are the brash waiters would love to break your huevos.

If you come to Cañete we recommend you come hungry for both amazing food, and insane service, bring your appetite and your sense of humor.

Trying some of Barcelona's Best Tapas

Normally I don't recommend eating on Las Ramblas in Barcelona, but this is an exception! La Rambla is home to Tast La Rambla (Taste of Las Ramblas) each year where many different restaurants offer some of their best tapas, dishes, and specialty plates to try. It's delicious and a great way to learn about some of Barcelona's best restaurants.

I try out some tapas and smaller dishes from 5 different restaurants in Barcelona and join a pastry workshop to see how one of the best pasty shops in Barcelona (Escribà) makes panallets!

Join me for as I taste Las Ramblas! It's not as big as the Taste of Chicago, but its delicious!

We tried the best tapas restaurant in Barcelona: Ciutat Comtal

Whether it's Ciutat Comtal or Ciudad Condal, it wouldn't matter after you try out the food. You will never forget your visit to Barcelona. This video is just a snippet of our entire Barcelona vlog which you can check out here:

it's was just so good that we had to make a separate video about it!

Hey Guys! Welcome, and in today’s travel vlog video, I am going to share the best things to do and see in Barcelona, Spain.

Barcelona, as one of Europe's cultural capitals, is a fantastic place to spend a weekend. It’s a gorgeous seaside city known for its beauty and sunny lifestyle. Beautiful nature, beautiful architecture, and fantastic cultural attractions combine to make this a very appealing location.
Barcelona city offers various architectural marvels that can't be found anyplace else in the world, because of its status as Gaudi's birthplace. Fashionistas can also stock up on the latest trends by visiting the city.
It's well worth spending a long weekend in Barcelona, Spain, to fully immerse oneself in the city's attractions. So, if you just have 48 hours in Barcelona, you'll be spoiled with choice!

▶️Our 3 days activities in Barcelona, Spain:
• First Day: We stayed in Tres Torres Atiram Hotels where daily rent was $ 98. We went to Ciutat Comtal restaurant and have various famous foods. Then we visit Casa Batllo, La Rambla, Place Real and Columbus Monument.
• Second Day: At the beginning of the second day we visited La Sagrada Familia Charge. After that, we go to a restaurant in Los Hermanos for food. Which was an authentic Filipino food restaurant. We eat Lechon Kawali, Bicol Express, and Buko Pandan recipes food there. Then we go to Park Guell for a little time adventure. Then enjoy some street performers to adventure Barcelona at night. For dinner went to Cerveceria Canaries restaurant where we have Tinto de verano and 16oz beer on tap. Then we eat Chorizo Frito and Patatas Bravas.
• Third day: we went to a tennis arena to watch a game of tennis. There we enjoyed a single tennis match. Then we move to the Arena de Barcelona. In Eccati Café we have eaten some light meals. At Abrassame you will find a Spanish menu del dia with a view. We ate their menu del dia, Cap I Pota Stew with calf’s nose and trotters, Croquette, Beef Entrecote & Cheesecake. Finally, we entered the cafe called Grania la pallaresa. Which is famous for its Spanish chocolate & churros. We don't have a taste of Melindros and Spanish chocolate there.

▶️ Important Tips:
• Familiarize yourself with the Catalan food so that you’ll know which ones to prioritize when it comes to ordering from the menu.
• Metro tickets are going to be better instead of buying the hop-on, hop-off bus tickets during the busy months because the lines will get long.
• Book your tickets in advance. Times slots will be assigned to every visitor so you can’t just go any time you want.
• Walk around the gothic area at night to watch street performers.
• Visit the Arenas de Barcelona mall. The elevator outside the mall charges $1 to go to the top. If you go inside the mall and take the elevator there, it’s free.

▶️ Quick Tips:
• Always check for bed bugs as soon as you enter your room so that you can ask for a room change if you need to.
• Barcelona is an extremely walkable city. But taking the metro is just as easy, especially during the warmer months.
• There is a ticket called T-casual and it gives you 10 rides (metro/bus/tram) for 11€.
• Ciutat Comtal does not take reservations. It’s first come, first served only, the crowds start coming in at 7:30pm onwards.
• You can take the outside elevator for free if you need to go back down.

So, watch the video till the end and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
