New Orleans - HUGE FOOD TOUR!! Green Oysters, Mufuletta, Jambalaya, + Po’boys!!

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Welcome to New Orleans, one of the most exciting cities in the United States and one of the most delicious. Today we’re going on an ultimate food tour of the old French Quarter of New Orleans. We’ll be eating a lot of delicious and legendary food, and I’m going to share everything with you in this video now.

Thanks to Derek Robinson, my brother in law for featuring in this video. He roasts amazing coffee:

Here are the places we went:

Cafe Du Monde French Market ( - Easily the most recognizable and iconic coffee shops in New Orleans, and probably the United States, Cafe Du Monde serves unique chicory coffee and beignet. Although seemingly always packed, it’s a great place to get your day started when you’re in the French Quarter.

Central Grocery and Deli ( Price - $22.60 - Next up we walked down the road to Central Grocery and Deli, home of the original muffuletta, a gigantic round sandwich with a variety of meats and cheeses, but most importantly an olive salad. The olives are what totally set it apart.

Coop's Place ( - Price - $29 - Unfortunately Coop’s Place is only over 21, and they don’t allow filming inside. So we took our rabbit sausage jambalaya and étouffée to go. Both dishes were delicious, especially the jambalaya!

Verti Marte ( - All That Jazz Po' boy - $14.68 - Next up on this ultimate food tour in New Orleans, we stopped at Verti Marte for a giant Po’boy that included just about everything you could possibly imagine. It was a heavy sandwich but totally worth it.

Galatoire's ( - Price - $40 - $60 per person - Next up for dinner, I made a reservation at Galatoire's, known to be one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. Although they didn’t invent Oysters Rockefeller, they make a great version of them, and for me that was one of the highlights. Also, don’t miss the flaming coffee to finish your meal!

Brennan's ( - Price - $22.04 - Finally completely unplanned, because we were right around the corner, we headed to Brennan's where they invented Bananas Foster! As Derek said, the best bananas foster he’s ever had.

And that wraps up this ultimate food tour in the New Orleans French Quarter. It was an amazing day exploring Creole and Cajun cuisine and culture in New Orleans!

The late-great celebrity chef and television personality Anthony Bourdain once said that New Orleans was the only city in America where everyone should eat. He visited Nola frequently over the years and featured numerous of the town’s bars and restaurants on his shows.

Bourdain first visited the Big Easy on his show “A Cook’s Tour” in 2003 and kept coming back for more of the city’s eclectic cuisine in his later shows like “The Layover” and “No Reservations”. Bourdain once even was quoted as saying that there is no other city that is as important for traditional American culinary history as New Orleans. He further called the city’s culinary scene one of the most vibrant, diverse, and influential ones in the nation.

In this installment of Viewcation, we’re going to be taking a look at some of Bourdain’s favorite restaurants and bars in the city that is known for its cajun flare and laid-back lifestyle. Watch this video in full to see Anthony Bourdain's New Orleans Recommendations for Food & Drink.

Heading to the Big Easy & Not Sure What to Eat on Your Stay? Well New Orleans has a ton of great food options, and you won't have enough time to sample them all. So here is our list of the top 5 things to make sure you eat in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.
Filmed in New Orleans, LA, USA
#1. Beignets at Cafe du Monde or anywhere you can find them in the city. They are Fried French Donuts covered in powdered sugar. A mess for sure, but worth every bite. Best to have with a Cafe au Lait.
#2. Seafood - New Orleans is on the gulf coast and the Misssissippi river and there are numerous seafood and riverfood options. Our favorites are the char-grilled oysters, but you can have oysters on the half shell, fried and in so many ways. There are numerous gulf fish you can enjoy as well as catfish. Crawfish, shrimp and crab also come in many delicious dishes in New Orleans.
#3. Po' Boys - a New Orleans sandwich can come in many varieties. Fried Oysters & Shrimp is a classic, but there are many ways to enjoy a sandwich in New Orleans. Another classic New Orleans sandwich is a Muffaletta, italian cold cuts with an olive spread on top.
#4. A Cup of Love - whether a cup to start off with or as a whole meal, seafood Gumbo, Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice, and Étouffée are amazing dishes to have.
#5. Have a Hurricane - Pat O'Brien's invented this sweet rum super strong drink and it is available all over town and the french quarter to enjoy.
#6. The Sweets of New Orleans - Bananas Foster or Bread Pudding are your best bets for some tasty New Orleans Desserts.

MUST TRY NEW ORLEANS FOODS!! | Food Tour in the French Quarter!

Eating your way around the city is one of the best ways to discover what New Orleans is all about!! We have been to our favorite city many times but never taken a true food tour... until now! We joined Destination Kitchen for a walking tour around the city. First stop was Alberto’s in the French Market for a muffaletta sandwich, second stop was Market Cafe for fried alligator bites... and Jason had to have their Bloody Mary! Third stop was a sweet treat at Laura’s Candies for Pralines... be still my heart... And the last stop at Creole Cookery was the mac daddy with three New Orleans specialties: jambalaya, gumbo and charbroiled oysters. Our tummies are so full of delicious food.

Next time you are in New Orleans book you a food tour with Destination Kitchen Tours, and go hungry!!

But of course, we had other meals as well in the city, later that night, we had an amazing seafood meal at Oceana Grill! This place was not what we expected when we arrived... it looks small on the outside but it huge! The atmosphere was fun and the food was delicious!

And another night we ate at The Court of Two Sisters. This is one of NOLA’s oldest restaurants and it has sustained for a reason. The food was delicious... you MUST try the boudin stuffed pork chop!! And the atmosphere was the best we have ever experienced. You are seated in an outdoor courtyard and there is a roof made of vines and lights above you. Wow was the first impression when we walked in.

New Orleans Food Tour: Eat Your Way Through The Big Easy

Hey y'all, welcome back! We are in New Orleans for my second video in this series, and you can't come to New Orleans without trying some of this good food! We're gonna go around to a lot of places that have some ICONIC eats in New Orleans Food Tour.

Most of these dishes can be found around the French Quarter restaurants, but for our first one, we need to head out to Parkway Bakery & Tavern. Here we find what some call the home of the Po' boy. After that, we try out the classic Muffuletta in the French Market.

You know I can't live without crawfish season, and beignets from Cafe Beignet is the perfect dessert when visiting The Big Easy! You cannot miss trying fresh Gulf oysters, and ours are coming in hot from Acme Oyster house in the French Quarter. Let me know what you think of my picks for the New Orleans Food Tour and please like this video if you found it helpful or entertaining.

24-Hour Food Tour in New Orleans! (Nola's Most Iconic Restaurants)

Come with us for a full day of eating at the most iconic restaurants of New Orleans! Nola is my favorite city in the United States, and the food here is rich and decadent — some of the most unique you'll find anywhere.

Here's a list of the restaurants where we ate, and what we ate:
1. Elizabeth's Cafe: We brunched on fried oysters with poached eggs and potatoes and praline bacon! Praline is a confection made by combining nuts, sugar, and butter.
2. Willie Mae's Scotch House: Some have argued that the best fried chicken in America is served here. We had an order with three pieces and fried okra bites.
3. Gumbo Shop: A popular place for Cajun and Creole cuisine in the French Quarter. We try the soup trio (seafood gumbo, chicken andouille gumbo, and turtle soup) and shrimp creole, crawfish etouffee, and jambalaya.
