How Food Turns Into Poop????
This PARIS kitchen store is LEGENDARY! ????????| E. Dehillerin
E. Dehillerin is Paris’ legendary kitchen store and not to be missed! This is where the serious cooks shop when they’re in Paris. Established in 1820, they’re most famous for their copper cookware. Julia Child vibes...
One thing to note - there are no prices on the items - just stock numbers. You need to be helped by staff, who will look up prices for you. I’m not quite sure why it is this way - only that I got the sense that you must be very polite and at least attempt as much French as you possibly can to get the best … help. I had the very strong feeling that the level of assistance, and perhaps the price, depends very much on your manners. The staff will take your items as you choose them, write it down on a receipt, with the prices, and hold the items at the counter. Once done, then you stand in what is usually a long line to be rung up. Another staff member wraps your items in paper and tape - sufficiently enough to be shipped if needed. From my observations with the clientele in the store - these were mostly working chefs, serious home cooks and the one percent. A lot of them were repeat customers, despite being from other countries.
