BALI - Our VILLA life in UBUD with kids

DWARAKA ROYAL VILLAS | LUXURY UBUD VILLA TOUR | Travel Bali with KIDS | Bali Road Trip | Bali NOW

Just outside of the town of Ubud are the Dwaraka Royal Villas. Bali is full of unique and beautiful accommodations, you can add these villas to the list! Our kids loved having a pool to themselves. We enjoyed the privacy and being immersed in nature. Our luxury Ubud villa was clean and had enough space for our family of five to spread out. There was even an outdoor shower! After many days of visiting waterfalls, markets, and sightseeing during our Bali road trip, this villa was nice to come home to. The staff were friendly and helped us with transportation around town and with finding laundry. We enjoyed our afternoons by the pool with complimentary coffee and treats. If you feel overwhelmed by the many accommodation options in Ubud, check out Dwaraka Royal Villas.

WHAT TO EAT IN UBUD | LUWAK Coffee | ATTENTION FOODIE | Travel Bali with KIDS | Bali NOW

If you travel to a new country and never eat the local food, you are missing out! Indonesian food is amazing, with something for everyone to enjoy! We plan to eat our way around Bali, hopping from one street vendor to the next during this Bali road trip. Food makes us happy, especially our kids! This is our What To Eat In Bali adventure! Attention all foodies! In this episode, we stop at a local restaurant for mei goreng (fried noodles) vegetarian, mei goreng ayam (fried noodles with chicken), and ayam goreng (fried chicken) with vegetables and white rice. We top our lunch off with pisang goreng (fried bananas)! After all that food, we need coffee and desserts. If you don’t know what Luwak coffee is, you are going to find out as we visit the Bali Pulina Coffee Plantation! Would you drink a cat-poo-cino? Although we are stuffed, we make one last stop at a roadside vendor for a special coconut custard treat, known as jaje laklak. I do think we saved the best for last! This coconut custard treat melts in your mouth. You don’t want to miss this treat.

There are over 16,000 islands in Indonesia, each one with its own special style of cooking, influences from around the world, and what they can do with local ingredients. You can expect to find some version of palm sugar, coconut, rice, and chiles in most of your dishes of sauces, curries, and sambals. We can tell you from experience that no two islands will have the same meal, so it is important that you come on an empty stomach and plan to stay awhile. We hope you enjoy this episode, let us know what your favorite Indonesian dishes are!

Bali Private Villa & Grocery Shopping // Indonesia with Kids!

I am so excited that our Quest has finally brought us to Indonesia! Bali has been on the top of my bucket list since I first uncovered my Wanderlust. We set aside 3 weeks to enjoy the magic of Indonesia, and our first stop brings us to Sanur, a neighborhood in Bali! Swimming is always at the top of our travel priority list, so renting a Private Villa complete with pool was a no-brainer! Our Villa was perfection and allowed us to relax, soak in Bali, and we even got some great Worldschooling lessons in. We also took the opportunity to visit the local grocery store, and we were in for quite a shock at the Balinese grocery store prices!

As always, don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE. Also, follow us on social media, so you never miss a Quest :-)

CAMPUHAN RIDGE WALK UBUD, BALI with KIDS | BALI ROAD TRIP

Ubud is a fascinating place in central Bali, Indonesia! There is so much to experience and explore while staying there. In this episode, we decide to continue our Bali road trip and take a hike with our kids. The Campuhan Ridge Walk in Ubud Bali was an easy hike with kids. The 2K hike was long enough without being too challenging or difficult for them. During covid, we found it to be fairly empty, so the kids could run up and down the ridge walk trail. Most of the places at the top of the hike were closed, but there was one restaurant open with food. Otherwise, just plan to be out for about an hour with your kids, pack some water and snacks, and enjoy the views!

Bali with Kids: How much does a Family Holiday Cost? (2019)

Ever wondered how much a trip to Bali with kids would cost? Is it going to break your budget or is it as cheap as everyone raves on about? We break it down for y'all.

Okay, you know what? To be cliché AF - I'm just gonna have to say it. Bali can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be. Your Bali trip cost comes down to what type of accommodation you want - do you wanna live it up like a baller or are you happy with a cosy little guesthouse?

Bali costs for accommodation can range from $15 per night to $500 - there's something there for every budget.

Oh, and not to forget Bali prices for food - grab a Nasi Goreng from a local Warung for 70 cents or get incredible brunch from a hipster cafe for $10-15 a dish.

We run through the cost of traveling Bali for families, including: accommodation, food, attraction prices, healthcare and other must-know budget tips at the end.

Bali Top Things To Do | Bali Travel Tips | Bali with Kids

In this video, I share with you top 10 things to do in Bali.

By the way, this video is a part of our Bali series. Do check out my video on Must-know tips for Bali.

Here are the tips:
1. Rice Terraces - Bali is famous for its beautiful and green rice terraces. The further you walk in, the fewer crowds you will find. It’s a bit of a trek though as one has to climb up and down rough paths.

2. Balinese Temples. There are so many beautiful temples in Bali. They have an amazing architecture and all temples have something unique about them. Most temples have an entrance fee. Some of the temples that we visited:
a) Tanah Lot Temple. This is one of the most famous temples in Bali. It is built on a rock at the seaside and looks beautiful from far away. This temple is most famous for it’s view at sunset.
b) Goa Gajah Temple. It is an ancient temple built in the 9th century. This temple is built inside a cave and the mouth of this cave is beautifully carved on stone. There isn’t much inside the cave to see though.
c) Taman Ayun Temple - This is a huge temple. It has a grand entrance and you need to cross a small footbridge to reach the courtyard. The most beautiful part of this temple are the many Meru towers inside the complex.

3. Waterfalls. There are so many all across in Bali. Tegenungan waterfall is one of the most popular waterfalls. It is quite beautiful, and the way that leads to the waterfall is all lush green and serene.

4. Watch a Traditional Balinese Dance - There are many kinds of Traditional balinese dance performances all across Bali. Most of these dances are very colorful and expressive. The dance that we watched was called Kecak Dance based on Ramayana.

5. Ridge Walk - It is a hiking trail that leads to a scenic pathway on top of a hill. It’s a light walk and offers amazing views of lush grass around and also hills and mountains in the distance. Honestly, I got bored, but my parents liked it.

6. View of Mount Batur - Mount Batur is an active volcano in Bali. It is possible to hike to the top of the volcano, but we preferred watching it from afar. You can have a hearty meal in one of the open-air restaurants that face the volcano. The views of Mount Batur and the valley underneath are breathtaking.

7. Coffee Plantation - Going to a coffee plantation is an experience in itself. You get to taste so many different varieties of coffees and teas. Normally, entry is free, but you can buy coffee or tea from the sales outlet there.

8. Beaches - There are many beach towns in Bali. The most popular one’s are Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa dua etc. A trip to Bali is incomplete without some water fun, do plan sometime on the beach. Most beaches are nice, but be prepared for the crowds.

9. Ubud Market: Ubud market is one of the best places to shop in Bali. It's one of the best places to shop as you get most variety and better pricing as compared to other places in Bali. Make sure you bargain and try to get the best deal.

10. Bali Swing: Bali swings are great for adrenaline junkies. Also, they are great for insta photos! These swings are usually set up on top of rice terraces and are really long, say 15 to 28 meters. Even if you are not interested in the swing, it’s a good option to go inside and checkout the area, as the rice terraces here are beautiful.

Bonus Tip-Insta spots. You can find so many cute little photo spots everywhere in Bali. Most of them are paid, but you can easily find some free ones as well. The spots you see in our video are at Tegenungan waterfall and they were all free!

BALI: an authentic village nearby Ubud - video tour by wówtravels Indonesia

Bali is one of the most popular travel destination in the entire world.
Yet, sometimes it can be a tourist trap.

At wówtravels, our purpose is to show you the most authentic side of Indonesia as only a local friend can do.

This is why we have created this full day trip exploring a 100% authentic village nearby Ubud, involving local people who will show you their life, their culture and their tasty recipes.

We will walk through rice fields, learn from local farmers how they cultivate their land and how to produce local products.
We will also spend some time in a traditional balinese house learning with a local family some balinese recipes that we will eventually eat.

Thank you for watching and see you next time.

Bali with Kids- Taking the family to Bali

March 2017, our Family ventured to Thailand and Bali for 6 weeks to explore to different parts of the world. In this 3rd video of our travels we explore Bali. With only 10 days to experience as much as we could in Bali we met up with some Canadian friends who have moved to Bali for a year with there 4 kids.
We were blown away by the strong sense of culture and amazing artists of Bali, the people were incredibly friendly and proud to talk about and describe their belief system. We were lucky enough to ring in the Balinese New year’s while there and got to experience first hand some of there traditional ways. Including Nyepi Day in which the whole island shuts down for a day of reflection. No one is to be seen in public and everything is closed, including the airport.
One of our most treasured experiences here was being immersed into a local village in which our friends have set up shop. witnessing the local sense of community was truly inspiring and demonstrated that it truly does take a village to raise a child.

Thank you to the facebook.com/HexaBen/ family for sharing your home local expertise, and all the other Balinese people who made our time in Bali an eye opening lesson.
