Asian Street Food - EGG NOODLES + SAMOSAS! | Friday Morning Market in Chiang Mai, Thailand!

???? Khon Kaen Street Food Tour:
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - One of the hidden gems when it comes to local markets and street food in Chiang Mai, is the Friday morning Yunnan tribal market. Every Friday morning you’ll discover a friendly market where minority groups, often with roots in Yunnan, China, gather to sell food.

Some come from the countryside where they bring rare ingredients, and others sell family favorite dishes. You’ll also find a good range of Halal food ready to eat. So today we’re going on a street food tour of the Friday morning market in Chiang Mai.

I started at the beginning of the market first with a walk around the market to see the colorful ingredients. I love seeing all the different Yunnanese pickles and preserves, and all the different roots and herbs that go into cooking. In the center of the market you’ll find a few samosa stalls selling halal snacks.

Next I tried a Burmese mohinga which is a fish stew over rice noodles topped with herbs and crispy lentil fritters. It’s an amazing dish and goes down great for breakfast. I also especially loved the khao buk nga - rice cakes grilled and filled with sesame paste.

Finally to end this street food tour, we sat down in the food court for a few bowls of Shan style noodles and split pea porridge.

If you enjoy exploring local markets and learning about different cultures, the Friday Yunan market is a fantastic place to visit when you’re in Chiang Mai.

Ultimate STREET FOOD NOODLE HEAVEN ????!! Local Market Tour + Best Food in Mae Hong Son!

???? 5 Aunty’s Cook Huge Curry:
???? NEW T-shirts and caps available now:

MAE HONG SON (แม่ฮ่องสอน), THAILAND - Welcome to the main city of Mae Hong Son, the capital also of Mae Hong Son province in Northwestern Thailand. It’s one of the most removite, mountainous, and beautiful provinces in Thailand. Today we’re going on an ultimate Thai / Shan / Burmese street food tour of Mae Hong Son! #MaeHongSon #streetfood #Thailand

Morning Market - We begin at the morning market in Mae Hong Son - and it was actually a cold morning so it felt good to use a jacket. We wandered around the market, and you’ll find that it’s unlike anywhere else in Thailand - many of the people are from hill tribes, and surrounding villages, and there’s a large Shan / Thai Yai influence and many Karen people. At the front of the market, you’ll find some street food stalls. I tried a bowl of Shan noodles in a tofu gravy with fried tofu on the side. I’ve have Shan tofu before and I love it. This was delicious, almost like a bowl of porridge, yet it was yellow pea tofu. Price - 25 THB ($0.84) per bowl. Next to that stall I tried a bowl of khao sen, thin rice noodles with a tomato pork broth and serves with crispy Shan deep fried veggies - which are extraordinary. Price - 20 THB ($0.67) per bowl. Two great bowls of noodles, you don’t want to miss on your street food tour in Mae Hong Son!

Pa Si Bua (ร้านป้าศรีบัว) Restaurant - Located right in the heart of Mae Hong Son is the legendary Pa Si Bua (ร้านป้าศรีบัว) Restaurant where they serve a variety of Shan style rice and curry. Whatever looks good you can order it and it will likely be good. You don’t want to miss their jeen lung, which are Shan meatballs, and could be some of the greatest meatballs in the world. We ordered everything they had for the day, and it was a delicious meal. You can really taste how Shan food is its own unique cuisine. Total price - 290 THB ($9.69)

Khao Sen Yai Jaang (ร้านข้าวเส้นยายจ่าง) - After doing some sightseeing and visiting some of the top attractions in Mae Hong Son, we then headed for an afternoon bowl of noodles at Khao Sen Yai Jaang (ร้านข้าวเส้นยายจ่าง). Served out of the front of the house, her khao sen is on another level. It just melts in your mouth and it doesn’t even look like it’s going to be that flavorful, but somehow it just blows you away with layers of amazing flavor. I loved it, and also loved their khao kan jeen, rice steamed with blood. Price - 25 THB ($0.84) per bowl

Mae Hong Son (แม่ฮ่องสอน) is really one of the most special and unique provinces and cities in Thailand. It’s so laid back, the people are friendly, and there’s so much interesting food to try.

Tandoori Pork Belly!! THAI STREET FOOD - Insane Meat Tour in Chiang Mai, Thailand!

???? $0.64 Thai Street Food:
???? SUBSCRIBE: Don’t miss new food videos!

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND - Welcome to Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand and home to some amazing Thai street food. Today we’re going on a Thai street food tour where we’ll eat some of the crispiest pork belly cooked in a giant earthenware jar - similar to a tandoor oven. Then we’ll eat some more Thai street food including Thai rice and curry, northern Thai rice noodles, and a legendary place for sweet roti. Let’s go eat!

Places in this Thai street food tour in Chiang Mai:

Neng Earthen Jar Roast Pork เหน่ง ไก่ย่าง หมูกรอบอบโอ่ง ร้านลับ ต้องโดน ( - This is the main spot, on the side of the road you’ll find half a dozen huge ceramic jars, which are used similar to a tandoor. The jar ovens are heated with charcoal on the bottom and all the pork belly and chicken hangs on the sides. The crispy pork belly is insanely tasty, and so crispy. The cooking method allows the meat to cook from the inside out and the skin to fully crispify. Amazing place, highly recommended when you’re in Chiang Mai.

Nam Ngiaw Loong Pong น้ำเงี้ยวลุงพงษ์ ( - Price - 40 THB - Easily one of the most popular and local comfort foods of northern Thailand is nam ngiaw (น้ำเงี้ยว), a porky tomato stew that’s eaten with soft rice noodles. Uncle Pong cooks one pot a day and when it’s gone it’s gone. It’s a traditional taste and a very friendly place.

O-Rote Ded โอรสเด็ด ( - Next up on this Thai street food tour we’re going to O-Rote Ded โอรสเด็ด, which is famous for their Thai rice and curry. Everything is ready, you just go up to the front choose what looks good and try it. Make sure you arrive sometime in the morning 8 - 9 am is good to get the best selection.

Black Car Coffee ( - Right across the street, you’ll find P’Anchan who sells amazing coffee out of his old car.

Rotee Pa Day (โรตีป้าเด) - - Finally to complete this amazing Thai street food tour in Chiang Mai, we’re going to Rotee Pa Day (โรตีป้าเด), where Aunty Day has been making roti for over 39 years - she’s a legend! One of the things she does differently is use only coconut oil for frying her roti which makes a huge difference. You can taste the cleanness of it. She’s also been recognized in the Thailand Michelin guide.

Thank you for watching and hope you have a great time eating Thai food when you’re in Chiang Mai!

ULTIMATE Street Food in Phuket - BEST EGG ROTI + Fried Noodles! | Thailand Michelin Guide Tour!

????️ Thai Street Food in Phuket, Thailand - Michelin Guide Tour!
???? You'll Love This Video Next -

PHUKET, THAILAND - Welcome to Phuket, an island in southern Thailand and a superb place to visit if you love food! Today I’m going to take you on a Thai street food Michelin guide tour of Phuket. We’ll be eating at four different street food stalls which were all featured in the Thailand Michelin Guide of Phuket. I hope you’re hungry, let’s start eating! #Phuket #StreetFood #MichelinGuide

Roti Taew Nam (โรตีแถวน้ำ) - First up on this Thai street food tour in Phuket, you’ll need to start your morning off right - and that means some of the greatest egg roti ever. Roti Taew Nam (โรตีแถวน้ำ) is a legendary spot, serving some of the crispiest roti you’ll ever have, along with a variety of Southern Thai curries. It’s incredibly delicious. Total price - 320 THB ($10.64) for everything

Chuan Chim (ชวนชิม) - Next up for an early lunch we’re going to eat at Chuan Chim (ชวนชิม), a restaurant that serves stir fried dishes made to order. It’s a type of restaurant where you can order and Thai or Thai Chinese dish, and it will be delicious. One of their signature dishes is their pad kaprao - your choice of meat with holy basil. What blew me away is how “wok” smoky every dish is. Total price - 360 THB ($11.97) for everything

Go La Hokkien Fried Noodle โกลา หมี่ฮกเกี้ยน (เจ้าเก่า) - A Thai Chinese noodle dish classic that you’ll find in Southern Thailand as well as Malaysia and Singapore is Hokkien mee. Go La Hokkien Fried Noodle โกลา หมี่ฮกเกี้ยน (เจ้าเก่า) is a legendary spot and has perfected their recipes - the reason why they are rightfully included in the Thai street food Michelin Guide. Price - 60 THB ($1.99) per bowl

O Tao Bang Niao (โอวต้าว บางเหนียว) - Finally to finish this Thai street food tour in Phuket, we’re going to O Tao Bang Niao (โอวต้าว บางเหนียว) to eat a dish called o tao, a Phuket speciality of seafood, batter, cubes of taro, garlic, chili, and plenty of lard to make things crispy. It’s kind of like a Phuket special version of an oyster omelet. It’s honestly not my favorite thing to eat in Phuket, but it’s something you should try because it’s only available in Phuket. Price - 70 THB ($2.33) for the seafood version

And that wraps up this Thai street food Michelin guide tour of Phuket. Enjoy the delicious food!

Thank you for watching and hope you’re having a fantastic day!

Thailand's NOODLE MASTER of Ayutthaya ???????? TOM YUM Noodles + MICHELIN Street Food in Thailand

Use Coupon Code : chopsticktravel to get 10% off your Manta Sleep!

In this episode I've come to the ancient city of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya about an hour and a half drive north of Bangkok. This is the old capital of the Siam kingdom. Home to some of the best kept temple ruins in Thailand and also the newest addition to the Thailand Michelin guide. I wanted to check it out and taste the famous must-try street foods in Ayutthaya.

I started my day off with quite honestly a terrible and over-priced cup of coffee (฿185) at Sala Ayutthaya ( a boutique hotel and cafe with amazing views over the river and a temple. I thought it would be worth the view but the coffee was really not good.

After refuelling I headed straight to หมูสะเต๊ะเฮียแกละ อยุธยา ( for some Michelin recommended satay (฿70 for 10 pieces)! They were smokey, juicy and the sauce was perfect. A great stop for a quick appetizer in Ayutthaya,

Next I needed something more filling so I tried out an ancient bowl of tom yum noodles at Pa Porn Traditional Noodle ) The women working here are super friendly and although a little sweet for me the tom yum was hearty and full of different toppings (฿40 per bowl)!

I wasn't planning on it but I had noticed a popular bun shop near by the noodles that I decided to try out for dessert. It is called ซาลาเปาอาม่า ( and their pandan custard bun + bbq pork bun was a perfect on-the-go snack (฿10 each)!

If there is one thing besides food Ayutthaya is famous for its the temples. I went to Wat Mahathat ( An ancient temple complex in the centre of the city (฿50 entrance fee). The chedis or stupas dominate this complex some seemingly about to fall over or apart. The most popular attraction in the complex is the Buddha head encased within a bodhi tree. This is seriously a cool place to check out in Ayutthaya!

Ayutthaya is a sleepy city and not much stays open late. I took a look at the night market before deciding to instead have my dinner at ร้านข้าวต้มตามสั่ง อยุธยา ( Once again a Michelin recommended Ayutthaya establishment. The crispy pork and tom yum soup were typical but delicious (฿540 for 3 dishes).

This was the first of 2 days exploring Ayutthaya and admittedly I didn't get to see or taste the best of what this city has to offer in this episode. The next day left me much more impressed! Stay tuned!

MORNING Market in Chiang Mai ????????

In today's video, I woke up very early to visit the Friday Mornings Market in Chiang Mai. It's called 'Friday Mornings Yunnan Market' and is located very close to the popular night bazaar. When I arrived around 7am, I met a very nice, chatty lady selling fruits from her own garden!

Next, I bought some mangoes, as I do at every market I visit. This is definitely my favourite fruit in Thailand.

After walking around a bit, I bought some more snacks for my breakfast. One of the things I tried was samosas and I could already see that this is a market with many different kinds of food. Also many people from countries like Myanmar came to this market to sell their delicious food.

I bought a delicious Indian curry from a vendor from Myanmar. As you can see, the market is very cultural. The food was just a bit too much for the early hour, ha.

Just before I went to the food hall to have breakfast, I tried another new drink. I saw that it was very popular because there were a lot of people lining up. Seeing this Chinese drink for the first time, I asked what it was. A friendly lady told me all about the different flavours and advised me to drink it with ice!

A funny moment, when I asked for a bowl for my curry in the food hall, the lady tried to give me food instead, haha.

This was my first time here and definitely not my last! I love this market. It's so diverse and people come from all over to this morning market. The best part is that the market has such a great vibe with music playing everywhere. Thanks for watching!
