Our trip to Punta Sal - Tela, Honduras || Viaje a Punta Sal

In this trip we went to Punta Sal.

I consider Punta Sal the best beach in Honduras and that is because is rich in nature in both the ocean and in the land. It is not civilized and that makes the experience unique.

Punta Sal is an amazing place to do snorkeling and hiking, also they sell sea food at a good price for all the visitors.

It is not expensive to go to Punta Sal and you come back the same day. With only $60 you can make the trip.

Virtual Tour | 6 Best Places to Visit in Honduras for Solo and Group Travelers on Family Vacation

Learn More ▶️
Map It ▶️
Get Travel Ready ▶️

Are you interested in visiting Honduras ????????? Or, are you just curious about the country as a whole? Watch this video. I'm going to show you six beautiful locations in Honduras that I'd like to visit. ????⬇️????Love someone?
Give them the world...

Official Name: The Republic of Honduras
Location: Central America
Population: Over 9 million
Economy: Honduras is famous for its rich natural resources. Exports include minerals, coffee, tropical fruit, and sugar cane. The country is also known for its growing textiles industry.

These are the six (6) best places to visit in Honduras for Solo or group travel for travelers on family vacation (my opinion).

Each of the locations offers its own unique views, sites, and experiences. You can chose to go hiking or backpacking, snorkeling or scuba diving.

Interesting facts:
There's a small portion of the population that is called Garifuna {GAR-ee-FOO-nə) that are black. I didn't know that!. A famous Honduran you may know was named Dr. Sebi, he was an herbalist and patients of he is claimed to hove cured patients of HIV, of AIDS and a lot of other illnesses. and, he is claimed to have done that from natural medicine.

Traveling from the United States to Central America, you will Honduras bordered on the West by Guatemala, bordered to the Southwest by El Salvador, bordered to the South East by Nicaragua, bordered to the South by the Pacific ocean at the Gulf of Fonseca, and bordered to the North by the Gulf of Honduras.

Honduras is unique Central American country in that its economy seems to struggle more than the others. It is one of the poorest countries in the western Hemisphere. This largely due to the political strife that seems to endure in this country.I like to meet new and interesting people because everybody's got a story to tell. And I like to listen. I like to hear what they have to say. What are their life experiences? What are some of the things that they've seen?

I'd love to pay a visit to Canopy Extremo!
For the traveler that loves zip lining, Canopy Extremo is the perfect choice! Many of the instructors speak English. You can expect to spend around two hours completing the course. Just take the 6 mile or so trip down the road from Gracias to the town of La Campa.

I'd definitely like to see Lake Yojoa.
Lake Yojoa is the largest lake in Honduras and sits in a depression formed by volcanoes. The scenic view includes steep mountains to the west and Cerro Azul Meambar National Park to the east. It often serves as a rest area for travelers allowing them to appreciate the view and enjoy the tasty foods offered by the restaurants on its shores. It’s also a popular fishing destination with many of the local inhabitants earning their living from the sale of fish caught in the lake. In addition, you’ll see the vast coffee plant fields that bolster the economy of the area.I would visit the Pulhapanzak Falls. It's created by the Rio Lindo, dropping off of a high cliff. They've also got some campgrounds around. So, I think it would be a great experience to camp and then wake up to the waterfalls.

I'd like to go to a place called Tela. Tela is, is situated on the Northern Caribbean coast. Later populated by the Garifuna.

Number five on my list is a place called Utila. Utila is the smallest of the Honduran major Bay islands. It lies is on the South end of the Mesoamerican barrier reef system. An interesting fact is that the island was documented by Columbus’ fourth voyage. Currently, Utila enjoys growing tourism and recreational diving having become known as one of the world’s best dive locations. The inhabitants of the island are of African (Garifuna), English and Dutch descent.

Another great location to visit in Honduras whether solo or traveling in a group is a place called Roatan. Roatan is about 40 miles off the Northern coast of Honduras.

Roatan is the largest of the Bay islands. At 48 miles long, and less than 5 miles across at its widest point, it rests on an exposed ancient coral reef. For the scuba diver, the offshore reefs provide some excellent opportunities. Most of the residents will be found on the western half of the island.

If you've been to Honduras, comment in the comment section below, let me know. Tell me your thoughts.

I want to know! As I planned my virtual trip, those are the six places that appeal to me based off of what I know of Honduras.

If you know something different, please let me know.

I would visit Canopy Extremo, Lake Yojoa, the Pulhapanzak waterfalls, Tela, Utila, and Roatan. That is my virtual trip to Honduras, six locations that I recommend.

Be sure to subscribe! That way you'll get a notification when I post new content.

Again, my hope is that it was as interesting to you as it was to me and I see you on the next trip!

Exploring the Island of Roatan, Honduras ????????

■ Roatan, Honduras ???????? : Our third day here on the beauitiful island of Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras started off to a wonderful start. We had a delicious breakfast, balaedas, then we packed and got into the car and drove to the Roatan Island Brewing Co, to try some of their fresh beers. If you like beers, like me haha, then you must come to the Roatan Island Brewing Co, you can do flights of beers and try all they have to offer!

After the beers, we drove to have lunch, and then to the beach, where found the water to be not as clear as before the next day, so we drove back to where we went on the first day, it was very busy as there were many tourists like us there. But we found some sand and went into the water. I also got another beer!

HONDURAS | 4x4 TRAVEL DOCUMENTARY | DANGEROUS AND BEAUTIFUL

Honduras has historically held a reputation for being one of the most dangerous countries to travel to in the Americas. However, in recent years, a lot has changed. Is Honduras still the violent, corrupt country it used to be? We decided to see for ourselves.

As part of the Pan-American road trip, which started in Canada, Honduras would be the 6th country for the truck. Initially planning to spend a few weeks on our way to Nicaragua, a change of plans would force us to loop around the country, going from the northern border to the Caribbean coast, the southern border, and all the way to the Pacific.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you're planning on travelling to Honduras you can definitely make a much more streamlined and optimized trip, for us, it was sort of thrown in our lap and we went with it. Overlanding in general is tough in this country, and camping is almost non-existent. But the coffee is good, the people are kind, and there is ample opportunity for some off-road action and wildlife spotting.

The truck is a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (KZJ78 w/ a 1KZ TE) for anyone interested. Build:
