This Country Has 79 Years Left to Live

Climate change never felt more real to my eyes until I arrived here in KIRIBATI - a small island nation in the Central Pacific Ocean.

The rising sea levels are quickly shrinking this country, which has a peak altitude of 3 meters. It's projected to be entirely underwater by the year 2100.

While many countries are feeling the impacts of climate change, nobody is more threatened right now than the 100,000+ residents of Kiribati.

The question now becomes, how do we prevent the people here from becoming climate refugees? The only 4 options I can think of are the following:

1. Build a higher sea wall (which will cost billions of USD)
2. Buy land overseas for them to relocate (will also cost a fortune)
3. Send more Kiribati citizens abroad (i.e. Australia and New Zealand) for jobs, and they can slowly adapt to a new life
4. Boost tourism in Kiribati so people can see firsthand the effects of climate change, which will also pump money back into the economy

Would love to get your thoughts on what we can do to help the wonderful people of Kiribati. I encourage you all to get creative and share your best solutions below. I will be reading and responding to as many comments as I can, and I encourage you to do the same. This is important.

First Solo Pacific Crossing in a DA42:12 hours alone over water in small plane

Around-the-World phase IV, part 5: the longest flight of the whole trip, 2027 nautical miles from Hilo, Hawaii to Monterey, California, using 2 supplemental tanks in the cabin. Preparation included finding a day with tailwinds. First attempt failed, had to return to Hawaii after 90 minutes, as the HF radio malfunctioned. Too much fuel to land, had to burn fuel to decrease weight. Fixed the radio issue, and succeeded the next day.

Huge Coconut Crab!! ???? (UNLIKE Any Other Crab on Earth!!) South Pacific Islands

???????? The Ultimate Fiji Food Tour:
???? T-shirts:
???? Ghost Chili:

LAU ISLANDS, FIJI - We’re in the remote Lau Islands group in Fiji, only accessible by boat, and today we’re going to Vuaqava Island, where they are known for their coconut crabs!

First of all, thank you to my friend Andhy Blake for arranging my trip to Fiji: and to Captain Cook Cruises ( for taking us on this once in a lifetime Fiji cruise.

We docked near the uninhabited Vuaqava Island, Lau Islands, Fiji, which is known for its natural beauty, incredible seas, and also for being an island full of coconut crabs! Coconut crabs are definitely unique, and they are a huge delicacy in Fiji and for the local population on the Lau Islands. They all mentioned that they coconut crabs are so tasty and so delicious that they don’t need any extra seasoning or cooking - all you have to do is boil them for about 10 - 15 minutes and eat. The crabs eat mostly a diet of coconut, so they have a sweet coconut taste to them, and the fat in the stomach (similar to the tomalley on other crabs), is like a natural coconut crab pudding with a complexity of flavor. It was an amazing experience to be with local Fijians on a remote island eating coconut crab.

Next up on this Fijian crab tour we visited another island - Totoya Island, Lau Islands, Fiji where we had the honor to cook and eat another Fijian food delicacy of land crabs, cooked in coconut milk. The crabs were boiled then fully deshelled, then mixed with onions and chiles, and lots of coconut milk, and re-filled back into their shells. They were boiled again until the coconut milk thickened into a creamy crab sauce. You eat them with a fresh squeeze of local lime and chili, and it’s something truly magically delicious.

What a day of Fijian food and the freshest crabs from the source!

Why I Really Don't Like This Country ????????

UPDATE: I WENT BACK TO BRUNEI TO GIVE IT A 2ND CHANCE!

While I constantly try to find the positives in every place I visit, there are a few nations that I just simply didn't enjoy.

The country of BRUNEI is one of them.

I went to Brunei back in 2014, three years before I made videos, but my negative experiences in the country have stuck in my mind ever since. That, combined with its absurd human rights laws such as stoning to death LGBT members, I felt like this video needed to be shared with the world.

Have you ever visited any countries that you didn't enjoy? Please share below, I'm curious to know.

12 Fattest Countries in the World

What are the fattest countries in the world? Over the past thirty years, the number of overweight and obese persons has increased dramatically, rising from 857 million in 1980 to more than 2 billion in 2013. That’s close to one-third of the world's population. In only one year, between 3 and 4 million individuals died as a result of obesity complications.
While the United States is frequently cited as having the world's most obese people, there are a number of other countries that are closely trailing. People all over the world are becoming more sedentary. More people are having access to high-calorie, high-fat foods. But the severity of this case is different from one country to another. Here are 12 of the fattest countries in the world.

12. The United States
According to the International Obesity Federation, with 36.2% of its population having a body mass index of greater than 30.0, the US ranks among the ten fattest countries in the world and it’s the fattest in North America. A total of 78 million people, 13 million of which are children in America are obese. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average adult is now 26 pounds heavier than they were in the 1950s.
An updated survey by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development shows that the obesity rate among Americans 15 years and above reached a staggering 38.2%. This finds a place on this list for the country that gave the world the hamburger and the Cronut.
11. Kuwait
Astonishingly, Kuwait has been listed among the world's most obese countries in the world. Before 2020, Kuwait was anticipated to be the most obese country in the Middle East, with obesity rates of 60 %. According to the Kuwait Times, in addition to having alarmingly high rates of diabetes, the tiny Gulf state is also the place where most stomach stapling procedures are performed. An average of 5,000 operations have been carried out among the population of only 4 million.
According to the research by the paper, Kuwait's burgeoning fast-food sector is to blame for the challenge. Other sources attribute chronic overweight to a lack of sports facilities and activities in the oil-rich country's urban areas.

10. Micronesia
Micronesia is a nation in the western Pacific Ocean located in the western Pacific Ocean. It’s made up of more than 600 islands and islets in the Caroline Islands and is separated along cultural and linguistic lines into the states of Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, and Kosrae.
Although the government has made some progress toward reducing obesity, some 55.2% of women and 44.4% of men are obese. Micronesia has the greatest case in the area, with 31.7% of all females and 30.5% of males classified as obese. The overall percentage of obese people in Micronesia stands at 45.8%.
