An Awesome Road Trip around Efate Island, Vanuatu!
One of the popular things to do on Efate Island in Vanuatu is to go on a tour of the island. You can do this by either renting a car and doing it yourself or by joining a tour.

You can choose to either do the circuit in one or two days. We chose to do it in one day with main stops at Port Vila market, Blue Lagoon, Eton Beach, Havannah Harbour, Port Vila Lookout and Mele Cascades Waterfalls. If you choose to do the circuit over two days you might want to include turtle feeding and Hideaway island into your trip.
You can hire a baby seat from most major car rental companies, but the cars don't have anchors so you will need to tie the strap around the headrest to secure it properly.
Love daytrip, which you can start around 8am and complete by 5pm. Enjoy!!

University trip to Vanuatu Part 1 Port Vila
I was extremely lucky to be chosen as one of 15 students selected to go on a 'Climate Change in the Pacific' study tour in Vanuatu for university thanks to the New Colombo Plan.
We spent two weeks in Vanuatu: staying for one week on Port Vila and another week on Tanna. Throughout this time we were able to meet the locals, experience the culture and learn so much.
Vanuatu is honestly the best place I've ever visited. They've been voted by Lonely Planet as the happiest place on Earth, and have won the award twice! Not once did we meet an unfriendly person, and always were greeted with smiles.
The vlog focuses more on the 'free time' we had whilst on this trip; but I am aiming to upload 2 (or 3) more videos which focus on the study part of the tour. I decided to share this video as it showcases what you can do in Vanuatu as a tourist, where as my study videos showcase what you are able to see and do if you have connections with locals.
Part 1 (this video) focuses solely on our week in Port Vila and Part 2 will focus on the week in Tanna.
I was in Vanuatu from the 23rd of November till the 8th of October 2018.

Vanuatu Road Trip - Driving all the way around Efate Island, Vanuatu
Drive 2 or 3 minutes out of Vanuatu's capital, Port Vila, and the rest of the main road around the entire island is empty and beautiful. Amazing place for an effortless road trip. Drive all the way around, stopping off at secluded beaches, the incredible Blue Lagoon swimming hole, and loads of little cafes.

Last summer I travelled to Vanuatu for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. I met so many amazing people and saw a side of the world I had never seen before. Think its safe to say the island life agrees with me.

We rented a car and drove around the main island of Efate from Port Vila for the day and here's a peek at where we ate, stopped for photo ops and celebrated happy hour at sunset. #LoveVanuatu
