Refugee Vietnamese boats in Colonia, Yap, Micronesia in the Pacific Ocean. Let's travel to the island of Yap in the Pacific Ocean and let's visit the harbour of its capital city Colonia. In Colonia, in the island of Yap, we are going to find boats (Vietnamese, Indian, Nepalese) that have been caught with refugees (or, illegally fishing) inside the territorial waters of Yap. The boats have been confiscated and the crews arrested.

Yap is an island in the Federated States of Micronesia, in the Pacific Ocean. It’s ringed by coral reefs that are home to manta rays and sharks. Huge pieces of ancient stone money and traditional thatch-roofed meeting houses dot villages like Kaday and Wanyan. In Colonia town, the Yap Living History Museum explores Micronesian culture through dancing and handicrafts. The Tamilyog Trail winds through dense forest.

Yap WWII Memorial Dedication Ceremony

In honor of Ens. Joseph E. Cox and all the men who lost their lives near Yap during WWII, this memorial was dedicated July 27, 2010 on Yap Island, Micronesia. Rescued from its original crash site, the plane was moved to its current display thanks to a partnership between the Missing Air Crew Project, Yap Visitor's Bureau, and Yap Public Works Department.
