We made a China Expat Bingo Game:
Our friend Jakob was kind enough to give us a tour of his micro apartment and a look into his vegan lifestyle in Shenzhen, China. While the indoor space is quite small, he has a spacious patio which is a rare find in a busy first tier Chinese city. He built most of his own patio furniture, cooks, meditates, takes ice baths and entertains - despite the small space.
The tiny apartment is about 18 square meters (194 sqft), and was recently renovated. Apartment costs about 500USD, which is 3,400RMB.

It’s finally here! My San Francisco apartment tour! I live in a 170 sq. ft. microstudio apartment in the city and pay $1775 a month. I have my own room, and share a kitchen with the other residents in the complex. These types of tiny home living situations have been popping up around many cities recently, and they’re perfect for any new grad or minimalist. I will be moving into a “full” apartment soon as this was meant to be a temporary living situation, but I’ve really enjoyed my time living in a microstudio apartment!

Today I wanted to give you a tour of our 237 square foot apartment (22 square meters). We got this apartment due to Mandi's Japanese Visa expiring so we took a quick trip to South Korea and back. This apartment has everything you need packaged up in a nice compact size. I really liked the layout and utilization of space in this apartment.

Hidden Studio Suspended Under a Bridge by Fernando Abellanas
Self-taught designer Fernando Abellanas has installed a secret studio under a bridge in Valencia, Spain. A hand crank moves the wooden and metal base from one side of the bridge to the other where a shelf, chair, and desk have been bolted to the bridge’s concrete wall. When the base is rolled back, the chair and drafting table floats in midair that makes for a chilling sight if you happen to encounter this for the first time. The studio was conceived as a refuge in the city where movable walls encloses the tiny space, creating an environment that the designer compares to hiding out of sight as a child. Abellanas won't disclose the exact location of the studio for fear that it will be discovered. He states that the project is an ephemeral intervention and that it will remain until someone finds it and decides to steal the materials, or the authorities remove it.

Venture over to NoHo to visit the live/work loft of artist, art director, and award-winning architect Marc Balet.
