Elvie delivers a fireplace mantle to the log lodge built by Meadowlark Log Homes in Westminster Massachusetts, and after visiting with the owners Bob and Christine, he drives over to Randy who lives in the Meadowlark Log Homes Kootenai Chalet that the company built in 2016.
Elvie and Randy have talked on the phone but have never met. Randy gives Elvie the tour and they make a fantastic face-to-face relationship. It was great to drive out there and see the log home that I sold to Randy but never saw it in person.
The Meadowlark Log Homes crew did a fantastic job. The company provided the log package, the roof system, windows and doors, decks, railings, stain and varnish and inside and outside chinking.

Elvie returns to Massachusetts after three years to visit Bob and Christine who live in their Meadowlark log home in their own private forest property, which is also surrounded by four privately owned lakes.
Bob has finished much of the work himself, and still needs to apply the stain to the exterior, but everything in the home is in great shape.
With the Ram Van, Elvie delivered a custom timber fireplace mantle, and also a thick wide timber plank that will be used as a table.

Jalon Miller and his crew go to a remote mountain region of Montana, and at high altitudes they assemble the subfloor and erect the logs for a single level Montana Cabin 18 x 24. A bad storm moved in and they have to stall the work for a week.
Then Jalon and his crew need to go to Kalispell to assemble another Montana Cabin 18 x 24, and at the same time, his dad Elvie takes a different crew and they go to finish the cabin in the mountains. The total is 3 1/2 days working time.

How Elvie And Terry Deliver 2 Montana Log Cabins Into A Tight Farm Property Site
Terry Ward is our favorite local trucker who lives just down the road from Meadowlark Log Homes in Libby Montana.
When we got to the farm with the two Montana log cabins on his flatbed semi, we discovered a very sharp corner leading into the driveway and we thought at first that we can’t take the semi in there.
But Terry is a skilled operator and was able to get the truck through the tight opening and it saved me a lot of time because we could unload the logs right at the site. Otherwise if he wouldn’t have been able to get in I would’ve spent until dark to unload the logs and shuttle them in with my pick up and trailer.

Meadowlark Log Homes teams run against the clock to get the Pioneer 26x34 log home with loft pre-assembled, delivered to a high elevation location in Colorado and reassembled with a roof and windows and doors installed before Thanksgiving. Again, the crew is able to accomplish the schedule requested by the Customer. The location was difficult on a steep hill and access was limited but it all came together in the end and created another very happy family added to Meadowlark‘s Customers.

MEADOWLARK LOG HOME AND GARAGE CUSTOM SADDLE NOTCH IN IDAHO- Elvie’s First Visit
Elvie visits a new log home in the Teton Valley of Idaho, just after the crew has completed their mission of getting the base home and garage assembled and dried in through the roof. The Grand Teton Mountains can be seen toward the east from the building site which is just a few miles from the Wyoming state line.
One of Meadowlark Log Home’s team of professional log builders handcrafted the log structures at the manufacturing facility in Libby Montana, which took a little more than two months to accomplish, then all the logs were shipped to this site and put back together, along with the loft floor of the house, the connecting log breezeway and the roof systems of the house and garage in a little more than two weeks.
Andy’s log home is a custom marvel; the corner joinery system Is one of a kind, using Meadowlark’s butterfly saddle notch and large diameter, oversized logs. This is a difficult and time-consuming interlocking connection that has to be custom penciled and precisely hand-cut to every log. Every log in the home was peeled by hand with a draw knife. The roof system of the log home is an engineering genius with dozens of difficult and intricate notches with the entire log rafter and purlin system suspended high above the great room cathedral.
Andy is now preparing to order three more Meadowlark structures; an outdoor log pavilion, a log barn for his horses, and a log pavilion open riding arena. These projects will continue to bring us down to the area to build them for him in the next few years.

Elvie brings some new Customers to view Daryl's brand new- just assembled Hungry Horse model log home from Meadowlark. A few changes were made to the plans including a different placement for the front door and adding a 6'x32' covered porch along the other long side of the home.
Elvie does not have to do a sales talk for these folks. First, they are impressed with the quality of the home and the craftsmanship at Meadowlark, and also the quality and care with which Chris and his sons have re-assembled the home onsite from floor to roof, and best of all, Elvie is able to save his voice because Daryl does the speaking for him as he happily embarks on a rave about how he loves his new home.

Elvie and the crew start early in the morning and by evening they have all the logs assembled for the single level 24’x32’ Green Valley Rancher log home.
The new log addition has four log walls, log gables, full length log roof purlins with overhangs, log porch header and log posts for a covered shed porch along one entire side, and is attached to an existing frame home. The walls and gable ends go higher than the old house so that the roof beams of the new log house can go over top of the old.

Our company assembled this single level log home a few years ago and are currently in production back at Meadowlark for their single level Trout Creek Log Home which will be their main residence higher up on the hill.

It is a fantastic customized cabin and the main difference is the porch is on the other long side of the home and there is no front porch at the gable end. In Episode 2 of Amish Dream Homes, Meadowlark Log Homes receives a phone call from a new Customer in Kansas and the teams need to meet a schedule of designing and building the 30x40 Montana Chalet log home with attached garage. Alex puts the pressure on the team to get it completed so he can move in before the Fourth of July, and they are able to get it accomplished.
