Micronesia | Visiting Chuuk and Nan Madol in Pohnpei - Country #78 to Visit All Countries

In this video, I share my travel experience in Micronesia which is my country #78 in my quest to visit all 193 UN-recognized countries around the world. During my time in Micronesia, I got a chance to visit Chuuk and Pohnpei. During my time in Pohnpei, I visited Nan Madol which is an ancient ruin that no one knows how was built. I also did the United Island Hopper to complete the rest of this trip.

10 Least Visited Countries of the World

In this video, we are going to briefly review the least visited countries in the world.
It's worth noting that these countries may have very different reasons for their low tourism numbers, Including their remote location, lack of Infrastructure, or political instability.
While some countries are not visited because they are difficult to reach, some are not preferred by travelers because they are dealing with economic difficulties and civil wars due to colonization.

Nonetheless, they each have their own unique cultures, histories, and attractions that actually deserves to be visited!
Keep watching.

Mallorca #4 Palma de Mallorca - the capital of the Balearic Islands

Palma de Mallorca is the largest city of the Balearic Islands and the island of Majorca. Located in the western part, on the bay. Palma was founded by the Romans in 123 BC. The historic and port city is inhabited by approx. 400 thousand. people. It is full of narrow streets, squares, historic tenement houses and mansions. The city offers an ideal climate all year round - annual average weather forecasts are 18°C. We can also find warm, transparent and crystal clear water here.

The beaches and the magnificent port with a yacht marina are among the most beautiful in Europe. Palma de Mallorca captivates with breathtaking views, amazing restaurants, original monuments and a lively nightlife. The city undoubtedly has many interesting places that are worth seeing in Mallorca.
In Palma we can try both Spanish and Catalan cuisine. Of course, the farther away from the center and the sea, the lower the prices in restaurants, but this does not mean that the dishes will not be tastier. It is better to slightly deviate from the typical tourist routes and try something that the local residents of Palma eat.

By far Palma's biggest attraction is the La Seu Cathedral. The building is located in the heart of the Old Town and is quite easy to find. The cathedral is one of the most famous Gothic buildings in Europe and one of the largest Gothic churches in the world. Its construction took 400 years. This beautiful monument has been rebuilt many times, also by the Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí.

The tourist life of the city focuses mainly around the cathedral, where you will find the most atmospheric pubs, the second zone in which the yacht marina is bustling with life. There are yachts of the richest people in the world who are looking for a rest in the picturesque bays of Mallorca

Louise and Kenji Island Baby Shower for Timeo, Pohnpei, FSM

Scenes of Hotel Pohnpei, 1984

Remake here:
Better audio, additional scenes.

More from the dusty old videotapes shot on a trip through the Pacific islands in 1984. These are a few scenes around Hotel Pohnpei, a few rustic comfortable rooms in a jungle setting with an incredible view of the harbor and Sokehs Rock. It didnt offer the amenities of a 5 star but had a local flavor that a seasoned traveler finds delightful. Of course, its been 25 years things may have changed. Oh, the rain can be fierce but its warm and doesnt last long. Soon everything sparkles in the sun.

Evening Thunderstorm in Pohnpei, Micronesia

This was filmed by the PCR Hotel near Kolonia during the evening of June 29, 2013. It shows a lightning bolt and some thunder. Lightning bolt is at 2:06, and the thunder is at 3:34. Otherwise, all you hear is the soothing sounds of my voice and the rain in the background
