With an annual rainfall ranging from 140 to 170 inches, the Hoh Rain Forest is a lush, green wonderland, with mosses and ferns covering every tree and surface. According to the NPS, it is one of the finest remaining examples of temperate rainforest in the United States and is one of the park's most popular spots to visit. One visitor described walking in the forest as a Hansel and Gretel-type of feeling while another likened it to a fairy tale enchanted forest.
Most travelers begin at the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center, which is staffed with rangers who can offer advice on what to see and do. The visitor center also houses exhibits and a bookstore. Two short nature trails loop through the forest near the center, the Hall of Mosses Trail (.8 miles) and the Spruce Nature Trail (1.2 miles). If you're up to the challenge, there is also a 17-mile trail that leads to Glacier Meadows, on the shoulder of Mount Olympus, called the Hoh River Trail.
The Hoh sits on the west side of Olympic National Park, about a two-hour drive from Port Angeles and less than an hour from Forks, Washington. It can be accessed via Upper Hoh Road, off of Highway 101. The visitor center, which is free to access, is open daily during the summer, generally open Friday through Sunday in the spring and fall (hours may vary) and closed December through early March.

Bryce Canyon National Park | Hiking in this Utah Paradise – 4K
Bryce Canyon National Park really took us by surprise. We hiked in Utah before at Zion and now decided to hike Bryce Canyon National Park. While smaller than Zion, Bryce Canyon is just as spectacular but completely different.
On our first day we started our Bryce Canyon hike with the famous Peekaboo loop, and we were overwhelmed with its natural wonders and of course sunset point. We wanted to hike the peekaboo loop trail, not even thinking about the Navajo loop trail, but soon found out that the Navajo Loop and Peekaboo loop eventually join to form the longest hiking route through the Bryce Canyon Amphitheater. A word of warning, it’s quite strenuous so make sure you take water and snacks with you.
Bryce Canyon is famous for its stunning rock spires called hoodoos and we just couldn’t get enough of them, as you can see in this video. But please watch for yourself and let me know what you think about Bryce Canyon.

Bryce Canyon NP Cross Country Skiing - Virtual Treadmill Scenery from City Walks
This may be my shortest walk I've posted but I wanted to share something a little different. A few weeks ago, we spent a couple nights at Bryce Canyon National Park so that we could do a cross country ski along the rim. It was a short jaunt (we thought the trail would be open along the entire rim) but we went and skied a bit along another trail later. The views of red rock, green trees, and white snow lived up to our expectations. So beautiful!!!

Bryce Canyon National Park is an American national park located in southwestern Utah. The major feature of the park is Bryce Canyon, which despite its name, is not a canyon, but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. The red, orange, and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views for park visitors. Bryce Canyon National Park is much smaller, and sits at a much higher elevation than nearby Zion National Park. The rim at Bryce varies from 8,000 to 9,000 feet (2,400 to 2,700 m).
The park covers 35,835 acres (55.992 sq mi; 14,502 ha; 145.02 km2) and receives substantially fewer visitors than Zion National Park (nearly 4.3 million in 2016) or Grand Canyon National Park (nearly 6 million in 2016), largely due to Bryce's more remote location. In 2018, Bryce Canyon received 2,679,478 recreational visitors, which was an increase of 107,794 visitors from the prior year.
