Alaska to Hawaii on Alaska Airlines

In this video, you’ll see what it’s like to fly from Alaska to Hawaii.

This unusual air link has only been around since 2007 when Alaska Airlines started serving Honolulu from Anchorage.

This journey, which was part of our #WildernessToWaikiki adventure involved a First Class trip between the largest cities in the two newest states: Anchorage in Alaska and Honolulu in Hawaii. The flight from Alaska to Hawaii takes six hours, crosses through two time zones, and covers nearly 2,800 miles.

In this video about Alaska Airlines’ service from Alaska to Hawaii, you’ll see the lounge, food, drinks, inflight entertainment, and seat available to passengers plying the Pacific between the Last Frontier and Paradise!

Watch to the end for a rare “GreenerGrass Editorial” in which I share my views on the current “State of Travel,” for what they’re worth.

Alaska Airlines 737 First Class - Seattle to Washington, DC

Let's check out Alaska Airlines First Class from Washington to Washington. We'll review the lounge, seat, food, entertainment, and the crew on this five hour flight across the United States. You'll see the window views, hear the engine, and walk away with a sense of Alaska Airlines First Class!

Here's a link to the full take-off and landing along with some in-flight footage:

Alaska Airlines wasn't in the original #TransconThrowdown because they didn't offer a lie flat seat. If you want to check out that series, here's a link:

But, despite not having a lie flat seat, Alaska Airlines First Class was amazing. The food was great, the seat was comfortable, but it was the Alaska Airlines crew that set this flight apart. Just listen to the Alaska Airlines Captain's announcement. That, alone, made the Alaska Airlines flight special.

Almost-Arctic adventure from Anchorage to Nome: Alaska Airlines Premium Class

In this video we kick off our Alaskan flying adventure with a flight on Alaska Airlines from Anchorage to Nome, way out on the Bering Sea in northwest Alaska. (We also throw in a bonus overview of Delta's 737-800 First Class from Seattle to Anchorage at the top.) When we flew this in April just about the entire route was still white with snow, and Nome was an icy, alien-looking place. All that makes for fantastic views. And along the way we try out Alaska Airlines 737-700 and its Premium Class, the extra-legroom seats up front that turn out to be well worth the price to upgrade. So join us for this pleasant little flight full of incredible sightseeing from 30,000 feet.

SURPRISE Trip: No Clue Where I’m Going!

In this experimental video, your Creative Director (my fiancée), Suzanne, planned an epic surprise trip. She booked a series of flights to interesting destinations she was certain we would all enjoy – you included, of course!

In this first episode in this three-video-series, you and I will find out our first destination. I’ll share how I felt “flying blind” as well as what the journey was like and, perhaps most interesting, where we went and what we saw!

Let me know what you think of this experiment. It’s way more “vloggy” than any video I’ve made before and it was fun to produce something so different.

The Alaska Airlines 737 MAX is a huge improvement over the old -800 and -900 models. It’s bright, very comfortable, and sounds incredible on takeoff!

This is footage from my experience on AS539 from San Diego (SAN) to Seattle (SEA) - just three days after the 737 MAX entered the Alaska Airlines fleet.

I was seated in first class (seat 4F), and the aircraft registration was N913AK. And yeah - the food was pretty good too.

We Flew ACROSS The USA on the MOST HATED PLANE (CRJ200)

Watch this video to see what it's like to fly across the USA on the most hated plane, the CRJ-200!

In this video, we’ll travel from our home in Greensboro, NC all the way to California, but only using regional jets! We’ll mostly focus on the CRJ 200, but the close cousin, the ERJ-145 will make a brief appearance, too.

These regional jets are easy to hate, but we wanted to put them to the ultimate test by crossing the entire country in them. The CRJ-200 is particularly uncomfortable and a lot of airlines are getting rid of them, but United Airlines, through the United Express brand, has more 50 seat regional planes than American and Delta combined, so we’ll be on a lot of United CRJ200 airplanes in this video as we fly across the USA on the most hated plane!

Why do passengers think the CRJ 200 is the worst plane?

For starters, they don’t have plugs or Wi-fi, the Windows are too low, the overhead bins can’t accommodate roll aboard bags, there’s barely any headroom, the lavatories are tiny, there’s no first class or even economy plus, the seats are incredibly small, and if the plane isn’t full, people in the front may have to move to the back to ensure proper weight and balance. In short, CRJ200’s and ERJ145’s are pretty easy to hate.

But what do you think? Watch this video to decide for yourself!

TRIP REPORT | Alaska Airlines - 737 800 - Nome (OME) to Anchorage (ANC) | First Class

Hey guys! Here is another trip report. This is the flight I took to leave Nome, Alaska. I had a great time there, and I can't wait to go back to Alaska soon. Anyways, this flight took off hours before a huge snowstorm came to Nome and canceled many flights. If you listen closely, when the 737 landed in Nome, you can hear people cheering. That is because the morning flight into Nome was canceled due to low-visibility. In fact, I had tracked it on FlightRadar24, which showed that it flew all the way to Nome (fr ANC), circled around flew all the way back. Enjoy!

Airline: Alaska Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 737-890 (N552AS)
Seat: 3A (First Class)

This particular flight was from Los Angeles to Seattle onboard an A321. But not just any A321! This was one of Alaska's specially painted A321's dubbed More to Love. It was painted to commemorate the merger of Alaska with Virgin America in order to highlight the new, larger Alaska Airlines effort to double down on Customer Service. How did they do?

Well, my Alaska Airlines experience left me wishing I lived in an Alaska hub. I’m pleased say they offered an unparalleled domestic First Class experience, but watch this video to draw your own conclusion.

Flying on Alaska's Milk Run

The Milk Run refers to the daily circuit of Alaska Airlines flights that hop between towns in Southeast Alaska, serving as a lifeline for the communities that aren’t always connected by roads to the outside world. In aviation, the term “milk run” refers to a scheduled flight with many stops, or a routine journey.

This was the coolest video I've filmed yet! Alaska is my #1 favorite state, so it was a pleasure documenting this historic flight. I recommend following me on Instagram @quintinsoloviev & @qfsaviation to keep up with my travels as they happen!
